5-0 out of 5 stars Buy this book!
I bought this book for my 2yr old and he loves it! My 4yr old loves it too. It does a great job teaching kids the cycle of life. The photos are wonderful and the story is simple enough to keep little ones interested, yet gives a great explanation about the circle of life.

4-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Visuals
A wonderful, graphic book about the circle of life. Why are kids so fascinated by pumpkins? Take a look at this visually intense book and see why. The photographs are definitely the feature here, but the text is not bad either, and keeps it at just about the right pace for a 3-5 year old audience.

5-0 out of 5 stars My daughter has loved this book from the beginning
Hola Jalepeno is just plain fun! This is one of the first books that we bought for our daughter and one that she has shown interest in from the start.I think it is the fun rhyming cadence of the book that she likes. She would listen when she was 2 month old and still likes to listen at 13 months. It's nice and short so it fits well with a little one's attention span.Reading this book can be a lot of fun!

4-0 out of 5 stars Yummy Yummy for my Tummy...
Another cute addition to Amy Wilson Sanger's series of book and cute as can be. Although I like this one, it's not my favorite. A few of the words are a little much for a childrens book, actually I'm stumbling saying them as this is a rhyming book and with a toddler they can't wait to get to the next page. Very cute but could have been just a drop better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Helping children learn the process of peaceful conflict resolution
The idea behind the "Learning to Get Along" series is that it is never too soon for children to learn about the process of peaceful conflict resolution (especially since they will have amply opportunity to learn about resolving conflicts by other means from television, movies and other children)."Talk and Work It Out" takes the concept of peaceful conflict resolution and puts it into clear and simple words with supporting illustrations by Meredith Johnson. The book is written by Cheri J. Meiners, who has a master's degree in elementary education and gifted education, has taught both first-grade and education teachers, has supervised student teachers and has six children (which pretty much covers all the bases).

5-0 out of 5 stars A Timeless Classic
I bought this book for my nephews who are 5 & 6 years old, because I had a copy of it when my boys were younger and they loved when I read it!They are now 19 & 16 years old!
5-0 out of 5 stars Thingumajig Book of Manners
The book was in great condition, but it was a board book ,not the hard cover I had ordered.I had to return the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Classic!
I had this book as a child in the early 80's and it's so funny to see other people saying they can't get this little creatures out of their heads too!! They're creepy and gross and funny, things every kid loves! When my 5 year old nephew came to live with me this is the book I thought of first to teach him good manners, after I found his "booger collection". My dad used to read this book to my sister and I over and over again, and when I asked my mom for the copy to read to my newphew she said it was about to fall apart from reading it so much! So I got him his own copy. The ugly Thingumajigs will stick out in any childs mind, it's a funny story with a memorable message and I am sure your kids will grow up and remember it as well as we do! ... Read more

This book has made a world of difference to me. It has a lists of almost everything teenagers, boys and girls, might be confused about in life. There are reasons not to do drugs and drink, ways to not be stressed out, ways to be safe and so much more. Whenever I have a problem with friends, familys, boys or I'm just stressed out, I can look in the index to find a list to help me with the problem that I'm going through right now. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
"Finding Your Focus", by Judith Greenbaum and Geraldine Markel, offers practical advice for common difficulties faced by adults with ADD.
4-0 out of 5 stars Beyond Just Meds thinking, Take Charge of your Life!!!!
In this book authors Judith Greenbaum Ph.D. and Geraldine Markle Ph.D. string together a phenomenal amount of information in a concise and straight to the point fashion. This is definitely what I would call a life skills book focused on strategies for overcoming many of the daily problems associated with adult ADHD.The authors have wisely decided to stay away from spending too much time on biological root causes, instead focusing on practical tips and strategies for maximizing success in daily life. The book seems to blend elements of cognitive therapy with a well defined process task analysis system.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book to teach kids about blame
This one should definitely be in every library! It's wonderful about teaching kids (and adults) that when things happen, there's always enough blame to go around to isolating one individual is usually not the best so, just chip in and help clean up the mess or fix the problem.Fantastic message - definitely helps with the "she did it" or "he did its" and promotes teamwork in helping to solve whatever problem occurred.Highly recommend!

4-0 out of 5 stars The Berenstain Bears and The Blame Game
In the Book called" The Berenstain Bears and the blame Game", there is a family of four, Brother Bear, Sister Bear, Mama Bear and Papa Bear. Mama Bear is usually friendly and kind, but now her house has turned into a never-ending blame game. " Its her fault, No its his fault", is what Brother and Sister Bear say. First they break a vase with roses that Mama Bear just put there that morning. Who knows what they will break next. This book teaches kids that fighting is no use. Instead of fighting they should get to work and solve the problem.5-0 out of 5 stars STOP THE GAME OF BLAME AND SHAME
Once again, the peace and serenity of Bear Country is shattered by the boisterous exchange between Brother and Sister Bear. Even the usually patient Mama Bear could not help but blow her top off. Papa Bear comes to the rescue by showing the way. He puts things right by getting Brother,Sister and even Mama Bear to chip in and help. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great book
Every parent should own this book. I enjoyed it, my son enjoyed it, and the illustrations were nice too

4-0 out of 5 stars reinforces that children can make good choices on their own
The general message of the book is great. Different emotions that can occur when dealing with different people are expressed. The text then talks about how we feel about our own emotions and then how we have the choice as to how to react to our emotions and then how we then communicate back to the people who have done us wrong. The text is great, the messages are wonderful, and there is a lot to talk about, such as "I am in charge of my words and actions...they belong to me".What is mentioned is in general, getting along, feeling good when things go well, fighting, arguing, yelling, hitting, crying, taking turns, sharing, solving problems, and treating others well. More themes covered are name calling, physically hurting others, bullying, how friends should act with one another, and despite physical appearance differences, we are all the same inside with the same emotions and are deserving of respect from one another.5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful - Easy for Kids to Understand
I saw this book and didn't think anything of it, then I checked it out at the library and discovered that my daughter loved it (4 years old) and it brought up many discussions about herself and others. We love reading ittogether!I had to buy it because she kept wanting to check it out again, and again. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars I wish the alphabet had more letters!
David Schwartz is brilliant! In G is for Googol, he brings together a wealth of mathematical information for strong independent readers. A is for abacus, F is for Fibonacci, and K is for Konigsburg! If you don't know how to pronounce rhombicosidodecahedron, don't dispair! Schwartz will show you how, and his entertaining and informative book will keep inquisitive kids enthralled for hours!

5-0 out of 5 stars A googolplex of fun
At her Montessori preschool, my daughter loved only math "work," mastering the binomial and trinomial cubes early on. At 5, as we began homeschooling, her reading level exploded and she fell in love with words. Unlike "hands-on" math, she had no interest in arithmetic or pages of problems. She's a highly gifted, visual-spatial learner who also reads rapidly and at a high level. Now, at 8, I present her with "literary math," books with mathematical concepts and lots of words and pictures. This book is one of the best examples of that genre. When I handed it to my daughter, she eagerly began flipping through the pages, then scanned the table of contents. "V is for Venn diagram!" she said happily. "I LOVE Venn diagrams!" She read everything about them and studied the amusing pictures in detail. Then she began to describe aspects of her life to us in Venn diagrams. So it has gone with the rest of this book, which I highly recommend.

2-0 out of 5 stars buyer beware!
This book has great photos and provides a very basic overveiw of the trucking industry. I would reccommend this book to any school library. Don't be fooled, this book is not written to help with answering more technical questions that would be sort after by students taking lessons for a career in the trucking industry... For this I strongly reccomend "Bumper to Bumper"

5-0 out of 5 stars Tractor-Trailer Trucker is exciting!
A Powerful Truck Book where we get to hook up the tractor to the trailer; load the cargo & inspect the rig. Put the truck in gear - you should see how many they have - pull onto the highway & head out in the driver's seat. 3-0 out of 5 stars Good for learning

5-0 out of 5 stars Crack open this multi-layered wonder
There are just so many ways/reasons to read this multifaceted marvel! For the very youngest listener, elegant, lyrical prose describes an egg in concrete, easy to understand prose. The second layer of text gives the reader additional information about the various inhabitants of eggs and their incubation. Upon closer inspection, the names of the animal hatching from each egg are provided for would-be classifiers. This book is appropriate for a cross section of reader, from tiny lap-sitters to children on the rug during story time to young nature explorers. No wonder this book is listed on the 2006-07 Mockingbird Children's Choice Award List.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous way to introduce a child to the kitchen
I've long been a fan of Mollie Katzen's cookbooks: she is so very user-friendly and clear in her writing. My most battered (so to speak) cookbook is Still Life with Menu. So Rowan (my ex's little boy, who is my "best friend," as he tells people) turned eight last week or so. He's been my cooking buddy since he was big enough to stand on a chair next to my stove (age two). He thinks I am the best cook in the world (and I'm not going to correct him).

3-0 out of 5 stars Choc full of new age cliche's, but Good for Discussions
Divided into four parts: The Spiritual Basics of the Universal Truths, Spiritual Lessons from Animals, Spiritual Messages from Verse, and Mother Nature's Babies.Line drawings and very short stories explain different types of beings and varieties of experiences.
5-0 out of 5 stars kids info guide
This is a great book for kids. I bought the book and read it first before I gave it to my daughter. It had the same beliefs I have and although we discussed my beliefs before this brought up more questions for her and gave her deeper insight into the spiritual world. She loves the book. It explains about being born and differant types of psychicness and it is easy for children to understand. With stories at the end that will teach them like children sitting by a grandmothers feet.Great for opening up young minds.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mother of 5
This is an excellent book for teaching the spiritual basics of the universal truths. I have 5 children ages 18, 13,11,9,8. All of them have benefited from this book. This book has helped me explain truths that I could not put in the right words. Mary Summer Rain speaks so well to young minds as well as to adult minds. The pictures are on a childrens level so that where they dont at first understand the words, they can look at the pictures and get an idea of what is being said. By the second time around in the book my children were all understanding. I make this book a nightly bedtime reading. She has broken down the truths in small digestable pieces just enough for understanding. What a wonderful gift we give our children to help them understand and to heal our land. They are the age of peace and harmony. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Relevant, Insightful, Provocative, Life-Changing. A must-read!

4-0 out of 5 stars Peck Mixes Spirituality with Common Sense
Community isn't what we think it is.Peck does an impeccable job of explaining true community and why it is so elusive in our society.Though he mentions over and over that he is an idealist, Peck presents some very intelligent arguments as to why a community approach just makes sense. He isn't naive either. He says the road to community can be painful and extremely hard.
