5-0 out of 5 stars The 1st magic book I ever got and still the best.
I am a street magican at the Georgia Ren Fair and 85% of the tricks I use on the street come from this book. I got this book back when I was about 11 years old and have found it invaulable!
5-0 out of 5 stars Complete Course in Magic
This book is GREAT for beginner magicians. It explains everything crystal clear, and gives great pictures to help you learn. This book makes it extremely easy to learn magic, that even a kid could do it.This book is overflowing with magic from the first to the last page.He starts you on basic self-working card tricks, then you start learning some card tricks that require sleight of hand. What is really great about the magic tricks in this book is that they are easy to master. It does not take very long at all to have them mermorized and be able to perform them.He also teaches you various methods of forcing cards. After that, he explains some different and gimmiked cards and what kind of tricks you can do with them. Then comes one of my absolute favorite part in the book. This is also the hardest part in the book, and it is flourishes. He goes from the one handed cut to the one hand fan to springing the cars, and finally ends at throwing a card. The other half of the book is dedicated and filled with coin, rope, silk and hankerchief, impromptu, mental, and billard ball magic. He also goes over some magic tricks which he defines as "betchas".Furthermore, at the end of the book there are some miscellaneous magic tricks. All these sections and tricks are explained just as beautifully as the card tricks. This is an AMAZIng book, and if you are a beginner and just starting magic THIS IS THE BOOK TO GET!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Magic

5-0 out of 5 stars Favorite series - Usborne Touchy Feely Books
This series - Usborne Touchy Feelys - is wonderful. Babies and toddlers LOVE the textures and the bright primary colors. As an Usborne independent consultant, I sell this line of books from home, and the Touchy Feelys are my best sellers. The quality is excellent, very sturdy with rounded corners. Different textured pads on each page include soft fur, bumpy ridges or rough patches. The illustrations are adorable. Peter Usborne himself (the founding publisher) told us this summer that the Touchy Feelys are his favorite books! In addition, I have many Speech Pathologists as customers. They also love this series as it encourages speech.
5-0 out of 5 stars great book
My son is 17 months and loves this book.We have the sign language dvd titled "my baby can talk" by baby hands and this book is featured and read for the "sign" for book.I thought it might help him make a better connection if he had the book also.It is very short. However, That is about all I have time to read before he is off running.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE this book!
I have a 1 year old who is mesmerized by this book... the vibrant pictures and rhyming words keep him entertained from start to finish (and start to finish and start to finish)... I usually read it several times before he lets me put it down!
5-0 out of 5 stars I never thought I could love a children's book so much.
This one is fun to read, with wonderful rhymes and rhythms, and it has terrific, colorful illustrations.I wish I could find more books like it, because my two sons both adore it.In fact, my 4 year old routinely sneeks it out of my toddler's bedroom, so that I can read it to him again at bedtime.

5-0 out of 5 stars Big results for small people
This is the best cookbook I know for pre-K kids. The recipes are simple and clearly illustrated, but they're real food - lots of the dishes here would be welcome at any dinner table. If you want to build your child's self esteem, respect and genuine achievement are the best way to do it. This book respects the child's intelligence, and offers the achievement of making a real contribution to the family's meal. Your child will need some help with this book, but you may be surprised at just how little.
5-0 out of 5 stars another winner from katzen
I love all of Mollie Katzen's books so I was not suprised that Salad People was wonderful as well.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great healthy food cookbook for young sprouts!
This cookbook is a real gem in the world of children's cookbooks. All of the kids' cookbooks I have seen in the past are heavily laden with sugar, chocolate, and more sugar. This one focuses on simple, healthy recipes such as "Cool Cucumber Soup" with cucumber, mint, honey, and yogurt; or "Foccacia" made with storebought pizza crust, olive oil, and rosemary.

5-0 out of 5 stars What it was like for kids to live during World War II
"World War II for Kids: A History with 21 Activities" really has three key components.First, there is a history of World War II from Hitler's rise to power in 1933 to the surrender of the Japanese in 1945.Second, Richard Panchyk provides excerpts from actual wartime letters written to and by troops on both sides along with personal anecdotes from people who lived through the war. Finally, there are 21 activities that can show young readers how it felt to live through World War II, both on the battlefield and on the Home Front.5-0 out of 5 stars 7 year old loves this book

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice Rhythm Nice Change
My one year old grandson enjoys the pictures in this book and the rhythm of the words. It is nice for me to have a book to read to him that isn't about warm fuzzy animals.

5-0 out of 5 stars SushiLoving Toddler!
My daughter received this book and 2 others (Yum Yum Dim Sum, and Hola Jalapeno) as a gift when she was born. In the last 3 years we have grabbed these books over and over again at bedtime, to go out for dinner, overnight trips... all the time! She recognizes the pieces of sushi she just had for dinner and LOVES to read the book to herself (from memory... of course). The illustrations are vivid and fun to look at and the rhyming words are like lyrics to her ("Someday I'll Eat With Chopsticks, But Today Just With My Hands")! She often asked for "Miso In My Sippy Cup, Tofu In My Bowl"!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Sugar Cookies!
I have the original 1957 book which is falling apart because of use when I was a child.I recently purchased two Betty Crocker's Cookbook for Boys and Girls to give as gifts for two young women who were looking for a great sugar cookie recipe to make with their children. The one in this cookbook is the best!!In fact I used it so much growing up I gave the recipe to my grandmother who continued to bake these cookies and send them to me when I was in college. With so many complicated and fancy recipes out there today, it was great to see this book still in print.A must have for families with young children!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful cookbook with good memories!
This is the first cookbook I ever received. It was a gift from my parents when I was a child. I enjoyed making the recipes then and I still enjoy them. Imagine my delight at being able to get another copy of this great book! Among my favorite recipes: sugar cookies, oatmeal cookies, the hot fudge pudding, apple crisp, meatloaf, the pink lemonade, cheese dreams, and tuna burgers. The sugar cookie recipe is the best one I have ever found! This is a terrific gift for all ages.

5-0 out of 5 stars Childhood Memories
I remember using this cookbook when I was a child, and as a grownup, have wanted to find the book just for the Sugar Cookie recipe. I was delighted to see that the book had been re-issued, so I ordered it.It is just the same as the 1950's issue. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars My review for Slam
The book slam was ok but all he talked about was how hard his math was, how good he is at basketball, how he's going to make it into the nba, how he lives in the ghetto, and how much he likes his wannabe girlfriend. I like basketball and all but when he gives you every detail about what is going on in the games I get bored and want to read something else. I think he talked himself up to much and he seems in the book like he's selfish, and isn't as good as he thinks he is. The author did a good job describing literary techniques and the setting though, I had a picture in my head the whole time just like a movie. I would recommend this book to a 10 to 12 year old boy who likes basketball.

4-0 out of 5 stars slam
Slam is a pretty good book. You are probably wondering why the title is Slam; Slam is the title because of the main character, Greg "Slam" Harris. Love basketball? Its almost what you could categorize as a must read. While reading this book I could almost imagine myself out on the court. Yes, this book is long, but if you have to read a book as an assignment, you should definitely read this one.
2-0 out of 5 stars How do I feel about this book
I think that this book was really boring. I mean the book did not catch my attention and it was not really interesting to me. It was okay but i think that this book should be for younger middle aged kids to read like 12-14. Teenages theses days want to read about more intersting things that excite them. So in my own oppinion i think that the book is for young kids and not teenagers and it was not the best book that i have read ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Everything has worked as written
My DH is using this and other books for a science and gadget class with 10 K-2 kids.He likes this book as the experiments are easy and fast paced enough to keep the kids' attention, a real issue with this bunch.
4-0 out of 5 stars A lot of parent/kid fun
I have bought many of these kinds of books for my now 5.5 year old. Each book is different, some with more stuff that is age appropriate than others, but I've ALWAYS manage to find at least a few things in these books to have an hour of fun father/daughter time. This book is no exception. The simple experiments on color, gravity and energy are quite simple, enjoyable to do, and my daughter did learn a thing or two.The old she gets, the more I'll be we will draw from this well written book.
5-0 out of 5 stars I like it!!!!
I disagree with Dixie who had written the previous review! The bookwas not written for 3 year olds! A good parent reviews the info and suggested age levels in the review section before buying. We have been very happy with these books. After buying one other, we bought this one and love it just as much. These experiments are simple to read and study. 5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Summer Fun
For fans of JBJ this book is a wonderful companion.Your kids can follow along with JBJ as she writes her journal and they can fill in their own versions on the next pages. My 7 year old devours the JBJ books in about 30 minutes, but she has spent hours and hours on this.It was especially great for the summer because it gave her a chance to practice her writing skills.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great journal encourages writing for beginners
My daughter is just starting to write creatively, and also loves the Junie B. stories. This journal was perfect for her, because every page in the journal has an entry "by" Junie, and then a blank version for an entry by my daughter. It gives her guidelines for what to do, but also encourages her to do whatever she wants on each page. The subjects are things such as telling about your family, your school, and something like 3 rules I would change if I were the boss of my family.I think a blank journal for a child at this stage would be intimidating -- this journal is just the right amount of encouragement.
5-0 out of 5 stars
What a wonderful story about our lovable Junie B. Jones!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great cook book
My 10 year old daughter loves to cook the fun receipies. I was very suprised how many good receipies were in just 1 cook book.
4-0 out of 5 stars its nice
I expected more variety from betty crocker. The book is nice, clear and easy to follow format. My kids like it but are thrown away by the RAchel Ray cooking rocks far more!

2-0 out of 5 stars Loud.Obnoxious.And Not Enough Recipes.
You know how it grates when you're exposed to a really really loud car stereo? That's what this book is visually.I am not interested in using a cookbook that 1) hurts my eyes and 2) isn't very original.I mean, don't kids get enough stimulation nowadays without printing a cookbook this garish?
