5-0 out of 5 stars Another great read for young Trekkies
This book is another really good book. For people who don't know, this is a book about Geordi (from TNG) as a cadet in Starfleet Acadamy. Overall, this is a very good read, although I believe Capture The Flag (#4) is slightly better.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excelent read for a children's book
I picked the book for my nephew and ended up reading it myself.I thought it was an excelent book that lendsa bit of insight and history into the crews of the "Enterprise" and Calhoun's "Excelsior".I've been reading all of the Star Trek Starfleet Academy TNG Series. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An awesome book!
This story about Deanna Troi is the one of the best in the series! This story tells about Deanna's troubles with being empathic. She decides to take the Borrocco-Kai or the big washout and she succedes. Her mother (who is a full telapath) finally figures out that her daughter is old enough to handle the stress. Tis story also tells of Troi's decision to be a counseler on one of those new galaxy-class starships.

5-0 out of 5 stars Breakaway
I enjoyed this book because it was fun to understand a little about what the people I know from the seris went through as a person my age.

5-0 out of 5 stars It was great!

1-0 out of 5 stars A dissapointing book full of stereotypical characters
All in all I enjoy reading these novellas set in the characters' past. 3-0 out of 5 stars the haunted spaceship
I thought is was a little bit dissapointing considering what the plot was in general but for the most part it was good and I really enjoyed thetwists that it took in a few places.

1-0 out of 5 stars oh, ICK!

4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting look at the pressures Jean-Luc faced...
Vivid illustration of the typical father-son struggle.People tend to stereotype mothers & daughters being in conflict, so it's high time someone recognized father-son conflict as well.Jean-Luc was right tofollow his own instincts and not let his father cow him into a life hedidn't want. Also good was the portrayal of the jealousy of his brotherRobert and how that made being close brothers difficult. One thing I wouldchange that seemed a bit unrealistic:Why in the twenty-third century doesYvette Picard seem to be stuck doing most of the housework just to pleaseMaurice?Other than that, I liked how Yvette stood by her son when hedecided to apply at the academy again. ... "Lifeline" is the first starfleet academy novel about Janeway. 3-0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
I am a huge Voyager fan and have read every book religiously.Needless to say, I was thrilled when I found this series. However, I was not prepared for this book to be written for teenagers. In fact, in the back of thebook, there is an advertisement for "The Mystery Files of ShelbyWoo", a Nickelodian sitcom. The book was good, just be prepared forthis to be geared towards teenagers. If you are a Star Trek fan and youhave teenage or pre-teen children, this is for you.Or, if you are aVoyager fan, its worth the read for the story.

1-0 out of 5 stars A dull story
I didn't like this story because it was kind of misleading. And it's not because Data's a cadet. The story didn't have data's personality that much. . The story was just a bit boring but it did have the planet where data was discovered. Over all it was an okay book.
