5-0 out of 5 stars This book ROCKS!!!
This the second best book in the series and I really like it!One of the best things is how Boba Fett mows down the Divirsity Alliance troops! I'll try not to give much more away exept that I think it's high time we had some romance in the series! I just think that Zekk should have kissed Jaina when he had a chance! I think it's sad that Raynar's dad died after all he went through to hide the plauge from Noala Tarkona.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a good book.
I am a fan of star wars espesially the books. This set of books is one of the best I've read so far.I like them all but I think the best part in this one is the surprise ending wich is very funny. But I think they should be read in order.Other wise your in the dark for have the book! But these books are my favorit yet.Thank you for your time.

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent conclusion to the second storyline in the saga
Since I am rereading this entire series for the first time in several years I was surprised to realize I remembered almost nothing about this book despite the fact that it is the climax of the series. This does not however, in any way imply a lack of excitment. In fact it was solidly gripping from page one right to the end. This book was the last in the second cycle of Young Jedi Knights novels, and it was one of the best.It basically takes up right where the previous book left off, with the kids, now fully healed, preparing to meet withthe senet to discuss the possible threat the Diversity Alliance may be posing to all human life in the galaxy.Meanwhile Zekk goes to find Bornan Thul and takes Raynar with him because Raynar is Bornan's son and he would be more likely to trust him if he is with him. They discover the human plague secret so Leia sends them (Zekk, Bornan, Raynar, Jacen, Jaina, Lowie, and Tenel Ka) on a mission to go and try to destroy the plague storehouse before the Diversity Aliance can get to it anddestroy all human's with it.The rest of the book is an intense account of their adventures trying to accomplish this goal, but as to whether they succeed or not, well, you'll just have to readthe book, because I'm not telling!I will say though, that it has several unexpected twists, one of which is very sad.One of the few problems with this book is that Leia would knowingly send her children on such a dangerous mission.Despite the fact that they are almost full Jedi Knights, that doesn't change the fact that they are her children, and I don't believe any parent would willingly send their child into such mortal danger. My parants definitely wouldn't!I must admit, I am getting slightly less resentful ofall these irritating little couples that are forming (Jacen and Tenel Ka, Jaina and Zekk, Lowie and Raaba, and of course Lusa andRaynar).Jacen and Tenal Ka are funny and interesting, and I have no objections to them liking each other, and Lowie and Raaba are plausible, though boring.Jaina and Zekk are hugely boring though, and Lusa and Raynar are completly implausible. Even so, this was not overpoweringly bad, so I guess I really have nothing to complain about really. In short, this is an excellent series of Star Wars books that are better even then some regular books I've read, and certainly more exciting. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great plot twist
It was a very exciting book because it was a mystery and there were more than one murderers. I thought the character devolopment was very well done. The story was worked out very well and the plot had the a very interesting twist that occurred at the ending.

I can't belive what happined In this book .Uncle hoole and zaksoposledly died from a haunted library that tash found . tash is devestasted . Forceflow is not who he is soposed to be . rent thisbook today.

4-0 out of 5 stars Something you'll read again and again . . .
This book is a treasure to keep forever. On every page, a surprise awaits. However, I only gave it four stars instead of five. When Tash finally enters the "Jedi Library," the ghost roars at her to"GET OUT!".I do not like this line because many books andmovies have that very same line. For example in the movie "TheShining," a character uses those very words. In other words, thatline was lame. The line should have been in that same tone, I agree, butthe actual words were . . . just too simple.Maybe John Whitman shouldhave described the aura in the library a little more.Anyway, other thanthis part, the story was an excellent, well written piece. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great for people who are familiar with STAR WARS books.
What is "Spore?"It's something beyond your imagination! When I read this, I couldn't believe what I was reading--I had never thought of something like "Spore."When you read about this, you'll probably be just as shocked as I was. This book is full of surprises.Iwould recommend this book for children under 11 years old, simply becauseolder kids might be slightly bored by it, although this book has few flaws.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but could have been better
This book was okay, though definitly not the best in the series. The writing was good and discriptive, though it didn't grab me in quite the same way as the first trilogy did, or even as the two books before this one did.To me, it seemed that this whole book was a rehash of the previus one.It had practicly the same plot, except Uldir finally went just a little to far.And they had to bring the Orloc guy back.I don't think he is a very good villian, because he is too unsure of himself, and he doesn't even have any real powers. His very presence insults the intelligence of the characters, and the fact that all of them are jedi, or at least jedi trainees except Uldir.Like I said, the writing was good, and the characters well developed, even if the plot was less than perfect. And despite it's flaws, I greatly enjoyed reading it, and intend to do so again.Definitly best for children twelve and under.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have for young Star Wars fans
This book is a very entertaining read for anyone familiar with the Star Wars movies. The book definitely gives a clear description of what life in the Star Wars galaxy is all about. The Jr. Jedi knights are the books that started my passion for reading four years ago. This is definitely a musthave for any young reader.

4-0 out of 5 stars I liked it--plain and simple.
I won't say much because it'll ruin the entire story. But this is a wonderful book to read for all Star Wars fans.I highly recommend it ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This was a great book!
I think this is the finish of the series, and all in all this was just a great book.I'd lend it to my friend any day!

4-0 out of 5 stars Too predictable
I think that this book is the last book in the series, and I also get the feeling that John Whitman just hurriedly tried to finish it off. For instance, the introduction to the real story takes half of the book, andalso, it is so predictable what the ending is going to be. But aside fromthat it is a really great book just like all the others in the series. Ialso really like the book because it takes place on the Dagobah system, andit includes a lot of stuff that was in the movies. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book!!
I thought this was a great book, partly because it at last told about Tahiri's past, which was something I'd been wondering about for a while, but also because it told about Anakin and Tahiri's friendship and how they work together through the force. This was not my absolute favorite in the series (that loses by a hair to Lyric's World) but it was definitly the best written. This book, and the rest of the series is best for children twelve and under, though anyone could read it and enjoy it.I read these books aloud to my mom and my little brother and he liked them so much he went and bought his own set.

4-0 out of 5 stars This is worth buying . . .

4-0 out of 5 stars the past haunts Obi-Wan and his Padawan
This book has two parts. The first relates a difficult period for Obi-Wan, when his actions resulted in the death of another apprentice while the second takes moves forward to a time when Anakin Skywalker has become Obi-Wan's Padawan and Qui-Gon has been dead several years. While Obi-Wan tries to be a good mentor to Anakin, he learns that the past is not easy to leave behind.Anakin is an exceptional student in many ways, but perhaps Yoda's concerns that he was too old to learn the Jedi ways were correct. As Obi-Wan and Anakin investigate the captain and passengers of a spaceship community, they continue to develop their relationship together at the same time each is troubled by his own problems.3-0 out of 5 stars Worth a read
It's not as good as the other books in the series, but it's not too bad, although it is rather predictable.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
This is definatly my favorite book in the series. Its awesome to see how they build their lightsabers. It also is the most interesting! I loved it!!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not the best of the series.
This was a good book, but I enjoyed the first three in the series more. I have liked reading this series now instead of when they first came out. I enjoy reading the early stories of the new generation of Jedi Knights. If you can find this book it is worth your time, especially if you enjoyed The New Jedi Order series.

5-0 out of 5 stars a delight to read.
This was the first book of the Young Jedi Knights series that I read, but it is still my favorite. Once again, Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta have given readers young and old an excellent addition to any star wars collection. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars JQ Books are for all Anakin/Obi-Wan fans !
This story begins when Anakin receives this Force-sensitive river stone from Obi-Wan on his thirteenth birthday. Actually, this is the very stone Obi-Wan got from Qui-Gon on his own thirteenth birthday. Obi-Wan WAS very disappointed, and must have looked disgusted when he got the stone from his own Master for he gets really surprised when he sees Anakin looking SO pleased...grateful,even. In fact, Anakin knows Obi-Wan got the stone directly from Qui-Gon who's been dead for 5 years, that the stone is the most important thing to Obi-Wan in the whole wide galaxy. A thing of value.
4-0 out of 5 stars It was pretty good
It was pretty good. The story is a bit confusing though. I like the idea of getting to know new Jedi and what Anakin did between the movies. It was kind of hard to picture some things but other then that, it was great. The ending wasnt too surprising but it was good. Darra was awsome, and Tru sounded cool also. But that other jedi....I forgot his name... It sounded like HE was headed down the dark side. And I also liked the character Siri. I think her full name is Siri Tachi and Ive read some things about her. She has blonde hair and blue eyes, and she wears an outfit similar to Aayla Secura. and Obi-Wan was also great in this book. I liked when him and Siri where working together. It was really interesting. All in all, it was a really good book and I hope you will read it!

5-0 out of 5 stars The swarm
I like how the main characters in the galaxy of fear series are always interacting with other more famous characters from the starwars universe. This book is no different. In this story they encounter one of my Favorite charcters, Grand admiral thrawn. At this point in the story, he is going by the title of captin thrawn. I really got into this book. The way the author described the story, painted a picture in my mind so vivid. I had to stop and scracth my head and make sure there weren't any bugs crawling on me.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best book in the second series of Young Jedi Knights
Usually, in most series by the time they reach book 10 it is beggining to get cheesy and unsatifying, but this is an exception. In fact, I think that this book is even better than the other three books in the second series of Young Jedi Knights, though I generaly liked the first series better. For one thing, even though there is one more book after this one, it seemed to tie in just about all the subplots of the series into a flawless intertwining story, that ismuch better than most people give itcredit for, just because they are kids books.Anyway, in this story, The Young Jedi Knights (Jacen, Jaina, Tenel Ka, and Raynar) finally decide that they have waited long enough for Lowie (their other friend) to return from visiting the Diversity Aliance and they must assume that he has either joined them, or is beingheld against his will. (both bad things) So they take off to go to rescue him, but are captured by the Diversity Aliance (who is fanacicly anti-human) and thrown into the spice mines to slave out their remaining years in agony. Will they save Lowie and escape? And if they manage to will they survive in the nearly inhospitably cold exterier to Ryloth? You'll just have to read the book to find out.One thing that bothers me, isthat when they ask Lusa to stay behind and cover for them sayingthat they went on a mission or something, well wouldn't the adults imediatly be suspicios?I mean they are just a bunch of fifteen year old kids, wouldn't the adults feel responsible if something happened to them?Yet everyone seems to simply take itin stride as a normal accurance untill Zekk and Lusa come forward and tell the truth for them. Also, these budding relationships between all the kids, while extremly innocent, are starting to get annoying.Actually, the relationship between Jacen and Tenel Ka is fine, it being fun and interesting to watch. But do we really need more than that? Now new charactershave actually been created just so other characters aren't left out of this, or so it seems.Zekk in particular was never one ofmy favorite characters, though despite myself I am begining to like him more.I am still completly against him forming a relationship with Jaina though, despite the fact they like each other. While I suppose Jaina does like him for the right reasons, they are better as friends.Their so called relationship is not only boring, but also completly unneccacary.A poor attemp to relate to teenage girls who would be reading this book.I'm a girl, and I'm fifteen, but this still seems silly and unneccecary, as is Lusa and Raynar, and Lowie and Raaba.Well now that I'm through complaining, I'll sign off by saying once again that this is a great book that I reccomend to any Star Wars fan, especially those interested in seeing how Han and Leia's kids turned out.

5-0 out of 5 stars must get this book
This is a great book. one of the beast. A good part is when Jacen & Tenel Ka get lost in the ice land."The first thing Jacen noticed wasthe cold.He shivered and looked at Tenel Ka,her lizard hide boots rose tomidcalf, but her scaled armor only covered a minuscule portion of her uperthigh and left her arms bare. You must be c-c-cold,he said. This is afact, said Tenel Ka.Chill wind went into the cave like knives of ice.Jacen, unable to thik of any other comfort, put his arms around Tenel Kaand pulled her to him in hopes of sharing some of his body warmth. TenelKa's arm slid around Jacen's waist and hugged him". so they arefrezzing to death. It gets a bit more buddy buddy for Jacen & Tenel Ka. Now Jaina &Ranar are in the hot lands. " Raynar did his best tokeep up with Jaina as they trudged between cracks, lept over open spaceslike ovens, and hid from the heat in any shadows they could find. Now Iknow what a nerf sausage-- on a hot plate feels like, said Raynar.Jainacouldn't anser. Her skin was red and raw from the heat, her hands and feethad good number of blisters already. Jaina climbed up a rockface, along acleft in the tones that heid some shade. She slippedbriefly and reachingout to steady herself, touched an outcropping of rock exposed to the directsunlight. She hissed in pain and snached her fingers away. Red burn-weltssprouted on her skin. Working it the mines is starting to sound like avacationto me,she admitted. we don't have any waterout here, no food orprotection...said Jaina". So they have to deal with the heat. This isa great book, to see what happens you got to get it.

4-0 out of 5 stars A light uncomplicated read.
I have recenlty found to my suprise that many YA novels are very interesting. The "Young Jedi Knights" series have a lot of thesenovels and this particular book is easily representative of the breed. 4-0 out of 5 stars Young Jedi Knights HO!
Sorry about the title, couldn't think of a good one. Anyway I am officially a fan of this series. I have enjoyed reading them now so long after the original release and reading the New Jedi Order & Dark Nest series. It is fun to see how Jacen, Jaina and crew got to the point they are as adults. I don't know that I would have like them as much if I had read them when they were origianlly released. The characters are fun and the stories are quick moving which is a plus. If you can find any of these book get them and read them. This book in particular was fun because you got an interesting look into wookie cultur and their home world.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best in the entire Shadow Academy series
If I could give it a million stars I would. When Lowbacca (or Lowie) learns that his sister, Sirra, is about to do the dangerous Wookie rite of passage he decides to go to Kashyyyk to be with her. His friends Jaina, Jacen and Tenel Ka agree to go with him. Little known to Lowie and his friends, the evil SHADOW ACADEMY also plans to go to Kashyyyk. But their plans are somewhat different. They plan to raid the Wookie's tech factory. This raid is under the leadership of Zekk (Jacen & Jaina's old friend who turned to the dark side), and the Nightsister Tamith Kai, plenty of stormtroopers, and another Nightsister. Well of course both parties collide and it is very exiting with a great ending. I highly recommend it to all Star wars fans and especially Lowbacca fans.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not the best but OK
I think that this was rather boring, but it realy leads upto Jedi under siege, which is among my three favroites.I love this series, and think that this is a great book despite that.If you have already read jedi under siege (as I had when I read this book) you will find boring, but if you just finished Lightsabers it is very suspenceful as you wait to see what will happen to the Shadow Acadmey and Luke's Praxeum, or jedi acadmey as it was called in the Jedi Acadmey trilogey. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Golden Globe
The Golden Globe was the first Star Wars book I ever read, and it started an obsession with Star Wars that lasted until I found out what happens in Star By Star. I was nine years old when my older brother (who was obsessed with Star Wars before I was) brought The Golden Globe home for me from the library. He thought I might like to read it. I remember that I started the book in the morning, and was soon hooked. I couldn't put it down. Unfortunately, I had an appointment with the eye doctor that day, and they put eye drops in my eyes, which blurred my vision for a few hours so that I couldn't read. When my eyes had finally cleared enough so that I could read, I sat and did nothing but read for the rest of the day, finishing the book before I went to bed. It was the first book I ever finished in one day, and ever since then, Anakin Solo has been my favourite Star Wars character. A few years after the first time I read it, I picked it up in the library again and read it for the second time. I think that's when I read the rest of the series, except for Promises, the third book in the series, which I couldn't find anywhere. I didn't find a copy of it until I was fourteen years old, but I was still delighted to read it. I think I've read The Golden Globe three times. Anyone who likes Anakin and Tahiri as much as I do, and who hasn't read all these books and Conquest and Rebirth, (from the New Jedi Order Series) should. But I warn you, don't read Star By Star if you're easily upset. I don't like the way Tahiri is portrayed in that. Plus there's that other event..... I'm afraid I've rather lost my liking for Star Wars now. The expanded Universe stuff, anyway. But the fact remains that this is an amazing book, it has great characters and a plot that gets you so hooked, you'll spend five years looking for all the sequels, just like I did.

4-0 out of 5 stars Anakin, Junior Jedi...
This was one of the first Star Wars books I read - I read the Jedi Academy trilogy before - Anakin Solo was fast becoming my favourite Star Wars character, along with his brother and sister. 5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Start for Young Star Wars Fans
I read this series about six years ago when I was in first grade. When I read the first one in first grade, I was obsessed. I couldn't stop reading and I finished it in four days (that was the best I had done up until then). Then I had to wait for three months to read the next one. That drove me crazy.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great book, but...
I thought this was a good book, but not nearly as well written as the first trilogy. One thing I liked about it was that it addressed Anakin's fear of turning to the dark side, though wasn't that taken care of in the previous book? When I first read this, at age eleven, I really could have cared less about Uldir, and considered him an irritating fifth wheel. But now that I myself am a teenager,(about to turn fifteen) I understand his problems better and sympathize more with his character. This book is best for children twelve and under, but anyone could read it as long as they don't expect an epic. One more thing; how come in Heir to the Empire Yoda's house is all rotted and not even there anymore, but in this book, which takes place thirteen years later, it's perfectly intact.Well, like I said, this book has it's flaws, but it's good.

5-0 out of 5 stars From Selah--absolutely excellent!
This book is the best in the series.Anakin has some spell-binding dreams that you'll love.In this book, Anakin goes to Dagobah with Tahiri and Ikrit. When he gets there, he and Tahiri revisit the place where Luke was trained by Yoda. And what they see there is truly amazing . . .

5-0 out of 5 stars I thought that Anakin's Quest was an excellent book.
I liked this book because it concentrated only on what Anakin did instead of switching to what Han did, or Luke did, and the whole book was about him.It was easy to read and I hope that they write a lot more books in this series. ... Read more

I haven't read any of the ones after this, and this is the one when Tash uses the force to help her buddies. Doesn't DV figure out that Tash knows the Force in this one? I can't remember. Good book for people who are fans of Tash or Hoole, the other characters are squeezes in there for a part.

The Path to Truth
3-0 out of 5 stars Great book for the newbie
Have you watched the Star Wars movies but left the printed word behind? Many of the Star Wars-related books attempt to fill in the blanks between episodes, and to flesh out the characters. This book is about some of Anakin's adventures at age 13, between Episodes I and II.It may involve the first time he kills a man (a slave trader) with a lightsaber, since he builds his first lightsaber in this book.Could it be that these experiences give you a better insight into why Anakin resists the total obedience required by the Jedi Council?
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
This was a great book, and I liked how it tells what happens between Episode 1 and 2, but some parts might be confusing for smaller kids...

5-0 out of 5 stars Good plot, and follows through the first three books.
I read this book of Spring 2,000.I realy didn't know what these books were going to be about until I read the first three. I started at eaten alive. it was a good book and had a good plot. Then, I read the second book, City of the Dead. It was very good and also had a good plot. After that, I was on the third book. It was a really cool book. I really liked the evil Shi'ido that pretended to be the doctor and friend of Uncle hoole. It also has some of the original characters like Wedge Antillies. John Whitman described the dense jungle, the old pyramids, and the green oozy blobs very well. As you read these three books and all of the star wars galaxy of fear books, each book makes sense. Like in planet plague, Zake got that sickness from dr. Evazen in book two. And in book three you the evil Shi'ido is really... in book four. I can't tell who it is becasue you have to read the books yourself. So, sit down for a couple a minuets and read a chapter or two. Me and my friend have read the first three books and we still talk to each other at school about what happened in the books. Well, that's all I have to say for now, but sit down and read these collections of books. It will take you on an adventure.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best Star Wars books I have ever read
I've read Star Wars galaxy of fear no.2 and 3, although planet plague (no.3) was my personal favorite. It's about two kids named Tash and Zak who'se parents were destroyed on the planet Aldeeran by the evil Empire's Death Star. In Planet Plague, Tash, Zak, Uncle Hoole who is a mysterios Shi'ido, and DV9 (Deevee for short)fly to the planet Gobindi in thier newly-bought ship, the Shroud. The Gobindi culture suddenly and mysteriosly vanished from the galaxy, nobody knows why. When they landed they hurried Zak to the medical infirmary, called IBWD, meaning, Imperial Biological Welfare Division. At one of the computer terminals at the infirmary, Tash typed Starscream into the password enter, Starscream was an Imperial code for some secret plot by the Empire that she got a lot of information on from Forceflow, Forceflow was some person Tash had met over the Holonet. on the terminal, IBWD appeared on the screen, instead of Imperial Biological Welfare Division under it, said Imperial Biological Weapons Division. Near the end, Tash finds out that her Uncle Hoole's Friend, Dr. Kavafi is actaully another Shi'ido, the Shi'ido are shape-shifters, they can transform into anyone and anything in the Universe. The other Shi'ido was an imposter, secretly planning to flow a microscopic virus through the air this was unkown to Hoole, but eventuelly, Tash, Zak, Hoole, and Deevee stop the virus from harming anyone. And then they fly off into space. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars ANAKIN'S FATE REVIEW
It was AMAZING!!!!ESPECIALLY when Anakin dreamed about wining the podrace. Watto is EXTREMELY mean and selfish!!!!!!!!
5-0 out of 5 stars a prequel to the Phantom Menace
"Anakin's Fate" is a story about what happens to the slave boy before he meets Padme and the Jedi. The official prequel novels all have about a third of additional story that never made it onto the silver screen. Terry Brooks' "Phantom Menace" is no exception as there is a great deal of time and energy spent on Tatooine with 'Annie' long before his destiny intersects with Qui-Gon Jinn. "Anakin's Fate" is closely based on some of these events that happen long before the Noobian blockade. In this part of Anakin's life, we experience the podrace that he and Watto allude to in Episode I: "he smashed up my pod in the last race."The reader also spends time with Kitster, the Jawas and space pilots. Marc Cerasini beautifully flushes out Anakin's character. The Jedi Readers can be a mixed bag in terms of quality and this one is surprisingly well written.Until readers advance enough to handle the Terry Brooks novel, "Anakin's Fate" is a great title to read prior to watching "the Phantom Menace."

5-0 out of 5 stars These Step into Reading books about Star Wars are great
