5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
While we are in the very, very early stages of potty training my son still loves this book and his Elmo book about being Big enough for a bed. These are great books for toddlers.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Book but not waterproof
My daughter loved this book, she liked that it was Ernie a character she knew, the only downside was she took the book everywhere including the bath tub so now the book is dry again but swollen.LOL!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Daughter love to read this on the potty!
Just begining to introduce potty training to my 2yo and she LOVES this book! From reading and looking at the pictures, she has finally made the association between diapers = baby and potty = big girl. This made a big difference in her desire to go to the potty! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A favorite in our house!
This and "Once Upon a Potty" are my son's (age 2) favorites. It's a great potty book, and personally, I think it's a plus that it's unclear whether the child in the story is a boy or a girl - that just means either gender will easily be able to relate. As for whether it encourages toddlers to use the potty, I think it does. Whenever we read this, my son shouts "Diapers off!" and flies to the potty chair. One thing that's a real positive about this is that it's a bit long. That's been a help keeping my son sitting on the potty longer without being distracted by a toy or a noise or whatever. I'd highly recommend A Potty for Me for anyone looking to start or add to their potty training toolbox.

5-0 out of 5 stars a great potty book!
My son (2 years) has loved this book for months. In fact, our family has memorized it now, we have read it so many times.I like how it written on a child's level and emphasized that the most important part of the whole potty learning process is that the child feel good about his/her accomplishments!

5-0 out of 5 stars It's all in how you know your child will respond...
I have a little boy who will be 3 very soon.He is now at the stage where he tells me when to change poopy diapers, so I know that he is now entering the potty training stage. When looking for a book on encouraging the "potty" concept, I was so delighted to find a Karen Katz book.My child has two Katz books previous to this and loves the illustrations and easy language.Previous books were very instrumental in his grasp of sharing and not hitting. So it led me to purchase this book on potty training. So far, my son has LOVED the book and requests for me to read it over and over.He also is applying the concepts in the book to our visits to the big potty.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book That Little Girls Love
I have had this book for over a year and my girls just love it.We read it every single night and they have it memorized.I have never had a problem potty training and this book makes it fun.I have 5 children and each one will potty train when ready.I will continue to read this book even to the baby.

5-0 out of 5 stars Enthusiastic about it!
This was the best book I found to help get my daughter interested in the potty. She loved the rhyming patterns, and I loved that the book showed "Hannah" making mistakes but not giving up.It was very positive and helpful in portraying a little girl wanting to get out of diapers without criticizing. I loved this book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very cute story
I bought the boy version of this book for my son when he was potty training.I read it so many times that I had to buy the girl version for my daughter. It's a cute story and I like the rhythm.I'm just now introducing my daughter to the idea of potty training. She's still a little young to fully understand it, but she does like reading this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!
When first reading this book, you may laugh or just be speechless--but I, personally, was in love with this book when I was about 3 or 4!!I don't know why, but this book really interested me.The delivery on this book was quite fast--quicker than I expected--I recommend this service and book to anyone and everyone!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Poo or cookie? You decide...
My almost 28 month old enjoys this book, and neither he nor I are bothered by the concerns others have voiced in their reviews.Rather than be put off by the "I, Joshua's mother," language, I find it amusing in a tongue-in-cheek sort of way.I suspect this was the author's intent, and it was made part of the story to give the mom or dad reader something to relate to and find amusing as they read the book to the child for the eighty-fifth time, not to voice a serious complaint to the one read to.As others have said, you can simply change the language as you're reading to whatever you choose to call bowel movements, urine or various parts of the male anatomy. My son gets that the large white thing is a potty even though it looks nothing like his, and personally I think that it only helps children to be exposed to expressionist art from an early age rather than dumbing everything down to photographs or representational drawings. However, there's a risk in choosing an expressionist venue for a how-to book aimed at 2 year olds.My son tends to interpret things somewhat literally and to be stubborn once he gets an idea in his head, and I expect others his age do as well. And he has a firmly implanted idea in his head about this book's illustrations. He thinks the poo looks like a cookie.
5-0 out of 5 stars It is fun, funny and tells it straight in kid terms
I think people saying this book could be damaging are going way too far and have lost all perspective. There is nothing wrong with it- the illustrations are cute, it is really matter of fact about how a child's body works and how potty training happens. It is also accepting of the normal mistakes along the way, no problem!

1-0 out of 5 stars Cute
Me like this book. When I got my potty, I weared it on my head like the little girl in the book. Mommy said it looked so cute.
5-0 out of 5 stars Cute way to introduce the potty
At my house, we read this with a silly British accent. It's a cute book that introduces the basic terminology of the potty with a little girl who demonstrates its use. I do think it helped my daughter be inspired to use the potty just like the girl in the book. My sister was embarrassed to read it to her because it shows (with a non-detailed illustration) what goes into the potty and where it comes out. I'm all for telling my child the truth and this does it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Once Upon a Potty of Laughter

5-0 out of 5 stars Stuck In Nuetral
Stuck In Neutral is a must read for anyone in any age group. The story is about a boy named Shawn who is 14-years old. Shawn was born with Cerebral Palsy. His dad, Sydney E. McDaniel, left him when he was just a baby. Sidney E. McDaniel wrote a poem about his son a while after he left.He then won a Pulitzer Prize and got really famous. In the beginning of the book Shawn stated that because his dad didn't like that his son has a disorder, that he was going to "end his pain."
3-0 out of 5 stars Not so great
I woudn't recommend this book to anyone because it gets a little redundent. The story is about a boy wh was born with a busted blood vessel in his brain that affected his abiliy to move a single muscle, which takes a real toll on his family. They live in a small tow in seattle, with practicly no father because he is to busy on TV shows and adio shows because of his poetry about his son.So his dad can't take it anymore and he decides to end the boys suffering by killing him.The story is told in the boys eyes and we soon realize that the boy is not really suffering but he cant tell his dad that because of his problem with his brain. And we are the only people who get to see this side, the only peple who get to hear him speak.Read the book to ind out the ending.

4-0 out of 5 stars Stuck in neutral
Stuck in Neutral, by Terry Trueman, is a book about a kid named Shawn McDaniel. Shawn is a 14-year old kid who is fully paralyzed. Although he can't move or talk, Shawn is intelligent. He can remember anything he hears without meaning to remember it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Simple and cute reading to get started
This is a good introductory book to the potty world. I love that it cover many aspects of potty training like Michael having accidents and explaining that he sat for a long time and nothing happened. The text is simple and the images are cute. I like how Michael's parents hug and kiss him after using the potty. We acted out this part at home after each reading! The book also includes a parents' guide for potty training.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
My 2 year old really enjoys the book.He says he goes potty like Michael. He really doesn't yet, but it is a good book to introduce the concept.Well worth the money.

DD found this book at the library and wanted it read to her CONSTANTLY, around the time she seemed to be getting interested/willing to try the potty. She liked it so much I went and bought her her own copy.
5-0 out of 5 stars Love this book for my Daughter
My daughter really seeems to pay attention when I read this to her and she seems to understand about the potty.I bought this book and the "Too Big for Diapers" book with Ernie featured. She liked the "Too Big for Diapers" book she knew Ernie. She really related to this book because it was about another little girl. I would recommend both, unless you have a little boy then I would a book about a little boy.

Editorial Review

Doctor De Soto is a well-respected mouse-dentist who runs a successful practice with his wife (and able assistant) Mrs. De Soto. The De Sotos are friendly and professional toward all their patients, from chipmunks to donkeys to cows, the exception being "cats and other dangerous animals," as stated clearly on the sign outside the office. But the De Sotos are tender-hearted rodents, so when a miserable fox shows up begging for treatment, they agree to have a look (perhaps against their better judgment). As it turns out, this fox, with "a rotten bicuspid and unusually bad breath," manages to behave himself while tiny Doctor De Soto is standing mid-molar inside his gaping jaws. When the wily fox returns the next day to get his replacement gold tooth, however, he has mouse-flavored snacks on his mind. Luckily, Doctor De Soto and his wife have anticipated such despicable canine intentions, and find a way to outfox the ungrateful fox. Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Doctor DeSoto book
You can call me StoryMaker. "Doctor DeSoto" is not my favorite book, and I especially don't like the end. I like how they are animal people, but are the size they are supposed to be. What I mean is, they are animals that talk, walk on 2 legs, and live in their own house, but unlike most people animals, they are the size they are in real life. It would probably be a book a young child would adore (probably most children ages 3-5) but I don't fall into the "Dr. DeSoto lovers" category or the "children ages 3-5" category. This book is where a mouse named Dr. DeSoto (a dentist) finds out a fox is seeking dental care. Dr. DeSoto never let an animal that might eat him come in before (that's where them being the size they are in real life is important), but the fox really wants that dental care so Dr. DeSoto's wife lets him in. The part I hate the most is the end when Dr. DeSoto gives the fox his so-called special treatment so he won't eat them. That so-called special treatment causes the fox to not be able to eat anything, even if it isn't a DeSoto family member at all. He could DIE if it dosen't ware off! I actually don't have a lot of complaints, but this book is not very exciting. Overall, perhaps you may like it, but if you like foxes, this book will not please you. Signed, StoryMaker. "Gotta trust the kid's review!"

5-0 out of 5 stars Funny, critical thinking perspective
Consider things from the point of view of the dentist and his patient . . . you'll be laughing out loud while reading this to your kids.

5-0 out of 5 stars An entertaining story
Dr. Desoto is a humorous well illustrated story of a mouse dentist and how he solved a problem in an unexpected way. I have read this book to several children 5-8 yr. age range and they all loved it and wanted to borrow it. Parents will appreciate Dr, Desoto's desire to maintain his professional integrity. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Cute pictures, very appropriate.
I wanted a book that not only I could read to my son, but one that I would feel comfortable letting a baby sitter read to him. This gets the point across and doesn't go into a lot of detail about what body parts are named. I can read this as a regular story without my son even knowing I am "teacing" him. I like that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love It!
I had purchased the Potty Book for Girls for my now almost 6yo daughter. It was great. She loved it.Now its my boys turn.I have begun reading the book for them and they love it.It is just like the Girl one but blue with a boy. They like "reading" it themselves. The pages are coated and much more durable.Great tool to begin potty training.

5-0 out of 5 stars Catchy, and Fun.
We read this to our twin boys every time we sit them on the potty. It helps them relax, and get excited to go. I don't think this is useful as a guide to potty train your child, but it is a cute little book that will encourage them, and keep their interest. Both of my sons have learned to recite the book themselves they love it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely helped my 2 year old go poop on the potty!
I never bother to leave feedback for items that I have purchased but this book really did help our daughter with potty training. She would rarely go poop on the potty until we started reading this book everyday.Somehow it clicked with her and now she ALWAYS goes on the potty!I love this book.Thank you!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Where's the Poop?
This is a great book that tells about all different kinds of animals pooping. This is written in a simple sentence format that keeps the attention of small children.Although the illustrations show little plops of poop for each animal, and person, it is done in a funny (not gross) way.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great
I bought this book while building a bathroom library for my daughter to read while on the potty. We've had good success with peeing, but the poop is a different story.Thought this book might help.Although she loves to now talk about her poop, and look for it under the flaps in the book, there's not a lot to the book.It could use a few more pages, words, flaps, etc. After all, the whole poop process takes longer than it takes her to go through all 5 pages, especially since she knows where the poop is hiden and looks there immediately. At least she likes it. ... My nephew loves these books, I got him this book first around age 2 and luckily just in time, he wouldn't take his medicine and his Mom referenced "taking it like the dinosaurs" and he was all over it. He's got the whole set now and knows more dinosaurs names than I ever knew existed and corrects me if I pronounce them wrong. Smart kid, great author, and illustrator. You will love these dinosaurs, get it.

5-0 out of 5 stars The ONLY book of this type on the market!
With a subject as narrow as Native Americans in a single and specific state, this book was very thorough. Subjects ranged from individual tribe appearance and dress to the specific foods and dwellings used by each. There are detailed maps showing which region each of the ten chief tribes inhabited while in Texas and what caused the disappearance of most from this state.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book!
My 2 1/2 year old daughter wasn't being cooperative with having her teeth brushed until we got her this book. She loved it from the very beginning and repeatedly asked to read her "animal book". Her favorite is the shark who flosses. This book has been a tremendous success in helping us to teach our daughter to brush her teeth. I highly recommend it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars 1-2-3 Pee
My two-year old son loves this book. He isn't potty trained yet, but we're working on it. This book has certainly helped. When he uses the potty, we say 1-2-3 Pee!, which is from the book. And he's thrilled about getting a sticker for the enclosed sticker chart each time he goes. We're Mo fans! We also love "Time to Say Please" by Mo Willems.

5-0 out of 5 stars Helpful even after potty training is done
My daughter's daycare had this book and I saw how much she loved reading it so we bought one for home, too. It was great while she was potty training. We talked about the messaging on each page and what was happening. The illustrations are really cute (we like to joke about how the mice are having a party on the potty) and the copy is fun and real world. It does come with cute stickers and a chart but she was never into them.
5-0 out of 5 stars Daughters love it
Our daughters love this book.Even though they have both already been potty trained, they still love this book. They have now become much better at washing their hands - and they have become more idependent in the bathroom (telling each other "Go for it dude") before going. It has worked much better than any of the other pottytraining books.

5-0 out of 5 stars A delicious chocolately story
Chocolate Fever is about a boy who loved chocolate. He went to school one day and he heard "POP POP POP" then he looked at his arm and - pop - there was a brown dot.He went to a hospital that he absolutely hated.By then he had thousands of brown dots. The doctor touched one brown dot and said "OUCH" so then he asked if it hurt and he said "NO."The doctor asked why he said ouch, and he said he thought it was going to hurt.He ran away from the hospital and found a man who also had had chocolate fever as a kid.He asked how to fix it, and the man asked him what the opposite of chocolate is.It is vanilla, so he took a vanilla pill and didn't want any more chocolate once the spots went away.I thought the story was a little weird but I liked it because you could learn about their feelings when stressful things happened. This book would be good for kids in 2nd grade and up.It is a chapter book. 5-0 out of 5 stars Claudia's summary review of Choclate Fever
Chocolate fever? What's that? There are only two people in the world who can tell you. Chocolate fever is a sickness that you get when you eat way too much chocolate. So far no one else in the world knows about chocolate fever, but now some do. Henry Green loved chocolate, he liked his chocolate bitter, sweet, light, dark, and daily. One day, Henry leaves for school feeling like something strange is going to happen to him. Sure enough, he looks down in class to see little brown spots are growing on him. The doctors can't figure out what this new disease is. Once the doctors figure out the the brown spots are pure chocolate chaos starts. The doctors are poking Henry like he is a unicorn. Henry Green couldn't take it! So Henry ran, he ran all the way to the candy shop to meet with Mr. Cane. Henry told Mr. Cane about what was going on. Mr. Cane told Henry that he too had chocolate fever when he was a boy. He gave Henry Vanilla Pills and told him, "Take these and don't eat too much chocolate, then you will not have chocolate fever anymore."In and hour Henry did not have chocolate fever it was gone forever, or was it?
