3-0 out of 5 stars Good For Tubbie-Fanatic Toddlers
This pop-up book asks you who's hiding behind different things, with the Teletubbies being behind the first four hiding places. Then comes Noo-noo & finally all the Teletubbies are hidden. While 1 or 2 year olds who like the show will probably get some giggles out of it, the book's art work is lacking. It's pretty stale fare, especially the sky. Couldn't they have put at least one bird, or maybe the sun with the baby's face in it up there? This seems to be a rush-job to capitalize on the popularity of the tv show. Looks like it worked - the copy we have is a 5th edition. There's many other pop-up books out there that are done much better, but if your little kiddies love the Tubbies, I'm sure they'll dig this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Teletubbies Play Hide-and-Seek
My 8-month old daughter LOVES this book!It makes her laugh out loud and she already has figured out how to lift the flaps on her own when we read it!It's a cute little book for babies and toddlers.I don't mind theTeletubbies so much anymore!:-)

4-0 out of 5 stars Teletubbies play hide and seek
I know most parents cringe at the thought of the Teletubbies,me too, but my one year old loves them. In "Teletubbies Play Hide and Seek" little ones are asked to find the Teletubbies under the flaps. After just acouple of readings she understood how to wait until mommy reads the wordsbefore she lifts the flap. She also learned the word boo. It's a littleword, but it's a start. You might not enjoy the Teletubbies, but it's worthit to watch your child's face light up. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Sturdy but low content value
This book is about 8 pages long. The pictures are stills from the television show.In this volume, Po has a watering can which he sprinkleson items (ball, hat, bag) to make them "enormous."The flaps arelarge enough for little hands and sturdy. The story is: Po makes the itemsenormous and the teletubbies love their enormous items and each other, theend.Very small kids seem to like repetitous books, and this one isn't tooexpensive and at least the flaps will last. While the educational contentof this whole series is questionable, children really seem to love thesecharacters.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 10 month old loves the "surprise" behind the flaps!
This book is sturdy like the other board books and big enough to see the pictures really well. The flaps get worn out though, like any flap book. My son loves to see the watering can make the Teletubbies favorite thingsbecome "enormous"! The book provides patterns which are great foryoung children but also introduces "higher level" words such asenormous, lovely, and disappear. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Tinky Winky's Magic Guillotine
I bought this book for my oldest daughter when she was one, a die-hard teletubby-head at the time, and about to leave on a international trip without me.Even though it is a big unwieldy book, my daughter loved and convinced her grandmother to carry it around in her purse.
5-0 out of 5 stars Get creative and make this book even more fun
This book is great. You MUST laminate the teletubbies though. To make it more fun, use your own cardboard to make some tubby toast (I made colored toast to match each tubby), and make an extra teletubby cutout and paste a photo of your child on it. Really adds to the fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing entertainment value
I was skeptical about whether this book would go over well with my kids (18 months and 3) and I surely didn't need to worry! they LOVE it. They play with it many times a day and never seem to tire of it - esp. putting the Teletubbies to bed. I [would suggest] laminating the Teletubbies - that is a must since they are flimsy cardboard and will dissolve if put in the mouth (which of course is the first thing my daughter did). My 3 year old likes to play with them even without the book and puts them in his trucks and walks them around etc. I am amazed how much they enjoy this book and how it never seems to bore them. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great bedtime story
My 14 month old daughter loves this book. She just loves the teletubbies which was a plus. The pictures are great, they look just like the TV show.My daughter loves to read this book for hours. The story follows each tubby going to bed and one by one each tubby sneeks off to play during bed time. The only thing is I wish this book was a boradbook.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun!!!
We use this book at nap time.My son loves it.He seems to really enjoy the repetitiveness of this book - as each Teletubby is found and put to bed.

Editorial Review

One day in Teletubbyland, a telescope appears on one of the surrealistically green hills many of us have come to recognize. Dipsy, wearing a tangibly furry, black-and-white spotted top hat, looks through the telescope and sees rabbits sniffing flowers, Tinky Winky with a red vinyl bag, Po wearing a tutu-like skirt, and Laa-Laa playing with her orange rubbery ball. Then, as in all Teletubby encounters, it's time to say "bye-bye." If your children light up when they see Teletubbies on television, they may enjoy seeing them frolic in the pages of this oversized board book as well. And, since kids can't actually touch the television screen with any satisfying results, they may like the novelty of being able to touch objects such as the textured gauzy skirt, vinyl bag, and rubbery ball. If titles like this help children make a transition from television to books, so much the better. By any other measure, however, Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great touch and feel book
My 18-month-old daughter LOVES this book.Especially the page with the ball on it.Even though it is short, she makes me read it to her over and over again.Actually, I'm pretty glad it is short!LOL

3-0 out of 5 stars Too short but....
Although this book is very short, shorter than the other TT books, my 1yr old loves the touch and feel sections. The book is physically tough and he "reads" it by himself (...)

2-0 out of 5 stars too short
This book is way too short. It's only really about 6 pages long. Also, the infamous "bag" is OK with me, other cultures and/or homosexuality don't bother me... but it sticks to the opposite page which makes page turning difficult at times. Overall, I'd say your money is better spent elsewhere unless you have a kid who is crazy about teletubbies (mine really isn't, but then again, my kid's only 8 months old). ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My child loves this book
We got this book for our daughter right before Halloween. It really got her interested in pumkins. She is only 17 months, but the way the teletubbies book it written, you can read it along right to her and she can follow right along with the story. It really speaks to them and their comprehension. She likes teletubbies anyway, but this really was a great book to introduce a holiday. The was her favorite book for a long time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Interactive
My 2 year old just loves Teletubbies! And being able to flip up the flaps, and play along, makes this book the book she brings to me to read most often. There is also very few words to read on any of the pages. So she doesn't make me turn the pages before I am done reading it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Confusing, but the kids seem to like it
To be honest, I'm fairly clueless about these dancing fat English things with TVs in their abdomens. And my little grandkids don't seem to like them much either. But I have two teenage grandchildren, and they always seem to put the tapes in late at night, especially when they get home from a big party wearing those glow-in-the-dark bracelets. They lie around and watch the show, and they read the book, and they particularly seemed to love TELETUBBIES LIKE TO DANCE!To be honest, I'm not sure why; but I'm all in favor of anything that gets these kids to show an interest in reading. Thanks, Teletubbies.Whatever you're doing.Keep it up.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money - get other ones instead
Very few pages, and not enough variety on the ones that are present.BORING.. even to my baby- who loves the other Teletubby books.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Fun!
We bought this when our son was 8 months old.He just turned 1 year and still loves it.The other morning I found him sitting on the floor, "reading" the book and laughing. We read it almost daily. It'sa great size for the diaper bag!

2-0 out of 5 stars Too much Noo-Noo!
Compared to the other Teletubby books this one is not the best. Like the other smaller board books the pictures are taken from TV and are blurry and dark. Also, the story is mostly about the Noo-Noo and so not as appealingto my 10 month old. He enjoys it some but the other "tubby"books, especially the illustrated ones ("Teletubbies Like toDance" and the lift-the-flap books) are more appealing. This one doeshave its size going for it! It is small enough to be handled easily by aninfant.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good book for toddlers
All I can say is my 18 month old son loves this book so much, I have been known to hide it under the couch to get a break from reading it!His Grammy gave it to him two months ago and it's almost time to buy a new one,it's so torn up from being carried and read.Any book that a toddler lovesthat much can't be bad at all. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Typical tubbie story
My 2 boys really like the tubbies and when they first saw their friends in this book they looked thrilled. The story is very simple and follows the story format of the show. "Hello" in the beginning, simple story about the tubbies favorite things-Tinky Winky saves the day by "finding" the missing favorite things, then the familiar "goodbye's". The pictures are large and clear. Simple concepts are covered like inbetween, behind,in front of, beside, high and low.

5-0 out of 5 stars Teletubbies
Another favorite for my 15 m.o. teletubby fan

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for kids who love hide and seek
My 18 month old nephew really enjoys this book.Of course, he loves anything related to peek-a-boo.I like that the teletubbies are so original (and less boring for me, particularly after a dozen consecutiveviewings) compared to more generic children's characters such as Pooh andDisney. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Not very durable but my daughter loves it
This book is a simple story of the Noo Noo cleaning up after the Teletubbies using stills from the tv shows. My daughter loves the story but I have found that the flaps and the pop-up at the end is not very durable and all ripped within the first week or two that we had it.I don't think my daughter (2 years at the time) was especially rough with the pages since our [other pop up books] ...are still going strong ... I just don't think this book is as good a quality as it could be.

3-0 out of 5 stars Kids love it; no value required
This is essentially stills from the tv show, mounted with text and flaps. The flaps are big and easy for small hands to manipulate. The story is assimple as the show -- each tubby makes a mess, and the noo-noo (a vacuumcleaner with eyes) tidies up.There are only six or so page spreads.Atthe end, there is a center page pop up of the tubbies, affixed very poorlywith a tiny bit of glue.Still, I think all children love these charactersand the flaps will stay put.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 16-month-old's favorite book
At this point, most of the flaps are missing (the pop-up Teletubbies themselves were the first to go) but this book still fascinates her. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Cute and perfect for babies
This is a very simple book designed for babies. I will warn you that it took forever [over a month] to arrive, probably because it appears to be a UK import. But that is my only beef with the product. I bought this for my 18-month old, who absolutely loves it. The main product photo of the book doesn't show the fact that it has four sound buttons that play sound effects from the TV show [check the photo I uploaded of the book I received]. My little girl loves both pressing the sound buttons and flipping through the book's few sturdy pages. If your little one loves the Teletubbies, this book will soon become a favorite. Highly recommended. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Like all good Anglicans, the Teletubbies aren't letting Christmas go unobserved. One day in the strange and wonderfully surreal place that is Teletubbyland, a beautiful Christmas tree pops into existence. And then--"Ping! Ping! Ping! Ping!"--four gifts magically appear on the tree. Hmmm... four presents, four Teletubbies--why, there must be one for Tinky Winky, one for Dipsy, one for Laa-Laa, and one for Po. Sure enough, the Tubbies shake each of their color-coordinated boxes with a "jingle, jangle" before opening them to see what they've received. Needless to say, trademark Tele-hilarity ensues. Big, glossy illustrations (meticulously faithful to the popular BBC series) accompany text adapted from the original TV scripts by Andrew Davenport. Bye-bye. (Baby to preschool)Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Yuck!
I can't believe other reviewers gave this book 4 or 5 stars.Of all the books my daughter owns this one is the worst! The story line is lame. The pictures are blurry. I do not consider this to be the quality of literature I would like my toddler exposed to.Maybe if you're a big Teletubbies fan you might like this book, but I couldn't appreciate it.

"Teletubbies Love to Jump" is an entertaining book for parents and kids alike. With an average of 10 words per open page, toddlers don't loose interest before you reach the end of the book. The Teletubbies love eachother very much and love "Big Hugs".What a wonderful book to read with your child.Hugs all around! The drawback to this book is the illustrations.
