Sugar Creek Gang Books Set (1-6)
I grew up in rural Oregon in the 60s -- a smart lonely kid living on a deadend road. The Sugar Creek Gang were my best friends and we spent many hours in the shade of a weeping willow getting in and out of trouble together. It's now 30 years later, my six-year-old son and I have exhausted the Harry Potter series, and he is learning about life in the sticks through the eyes of Paul Hutchens. Probably not a great series for most girls but for six- to 10-year-old boys -- wonderful stuff!!

Childhood adventure in a simpler time
I read these when I was in about 4th grade in the early 1960s.Today, I see the word -gang- and think drugs and guns.These simple stories tell the childhood adventures of a group of boys growing up near Sugar Creek.They meet a mysterious hermit in the woods in one book, kill a bear inanother and catch a bank robber in another.But the real appeal is the waythe author paints the boys' personalities.We learn lessons with them,become friends with them, grow up with them, and significantly, discoverfaith in God with them.It's been 30 years and I still have a sweet spotin my heart for each of these boys.I encourage you to check 'em out. ... swamp robber
this book is about a 12 year old boy that lives in a little town adn there are 5 boys that are in that town that they call there selves the sugar creek gang they like to come to a mistery of some cind and the allways do. so they were out brian him and his brother they were fishing and all the sudden they were swiming and then all the sudden a guy that just ascappeed from the jell hade been hiding in the forset and he happennd to sneek up on them and you can see if they can handel it or not if they turn him in or they all get killed read the book and find out I suddgest this book for allmost all teenagers. I personly thik that it was a great mistery book and had plenty of action and I like the sugar creek gang myself well I cant tell you a hole lot because that would give the bok away so I think it is a good book so I would just give it a try

A good story surrounded by evangelism
On one level, "The Sugar Creek Gang" (original title) is a typical, slightly over-the-top boys' yarn of adventure. But unless the current paperbacks have been heavily edited, the books are crammed with mini-sermons and asides that cram evangelical Christianity down the reader's throat, as well as some comments that would be considered racist today. It is entirely possible to write a book that will appeal to children and present Christian values more subtly ("The Chronicles of Narnia", for example). AMAZING BOOK!!!

An exciting book!
The Sugar Creek Gangwent to re-bury Bill Collins' cousins dog.It began to rain so they hightailed it for an old abandoned house.Hearing someone approach they jumped to the conclusion that it was a bank robber and went up to the attic.Then they saw the chimney had a hole in it, so theyclimbed out.Poetry was too fat, so he couldn't get out.The other boysgot help.See for yourself what happens next!I like this book because it is suspensful andexciting.It is not quite as exciting as"The Swamp Robber", butit is still a fun book! ... The Sugar Creek Gang: The Killer Bear Review
Paul Hutchenes is a very adventurous writer. His story the Sugar Creek Gang: The Killer Bear always ketp you guessing and on the edge of your seat. The one thing I didnt like about this story is that it wasnt just about finding the bear it wsa also about each one of the gangs lives. The gang always goes swimming in the summer. Circus the leader of the gang brought up the bear the whole gang was quiet as a church mouse. Then they heard a big branch snap they all turned white. One of the many reasons i liked this book is because once you picked it up you cant put it back down. Cicus is my favorite character because he came from a bad backroud and he had the easy way to go down the wrong paths, but he got saved by the Lord and he took the right paths. When he told his alcohloic dad that he was saved by the Lord his dad rushed to get saved by the lord. When they were both saved they both hugged and cryied. The scene that I liked the most was ehn the book decribed everybody and their backrounds,

The Green TentMystery
The book I read was alright its about 5 friends that live close to the woods.They been in every tree and know were everything is.There is a little spring and all the boys go there everyday to go cool off.A new family came to the camping ground in their tent and the woman is a little crazy in the head.The boys dont want to go back to school but they have to in 2 weeks.The wife has took pictures of DragonFlys little sister cuz she thinks that that is her daughter but it really isn`t.About a week later after the church was over he went to MR.andMRS.Collins house to ask if he can borrow their daughter.The mom said only if you borrow me to.Then the lady came norrmal after she went to the doctor the gave her piles and she found that it wasn`t her daughter.And to weeks later all the boys even thought they didn`t want to but they did.After they all lived happily ever after ay least some of them did.........
