2-0 out of 5 stars What Went Wrong?
I am very angry with the way the Thoroughbred books are changing. Joanna Campbell did a far better job writing them, and I think the new author needs to take a hike. Ashleigh and Samantha have always been my favorite charcters, and now they are totally kicked out of the picture. Especially Sammy in the later books. And what of the other characters, like Mandy and Jilly? They played such large parts in previous books, so where are they now? I especially dislike Cindy. She was tolerable at first, when she had just one special horse...Glory. Now though, she has had numerous 'Wonder Horses' and as soon as a new book comes out, she drops them. I say kill Cindy off, and bring back Sammy and Ash. And stop creating all these stupid new characters! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible!
This book was really bad! I don't like Allie. She's nothing but a brat who thinks she knows everything about horses. And I don't think she deserves Wonder's Legacy. And I'm sick of Jazz! I thought that that would be the end of him in #69 Melanie's Double Jinx. Hopefully, after this book, this time he'll be out of the picture. Another thing, in #62 Unbrdled Fury, they described Hi Jinx as a tall, gorgeous chestnut colt but in this book they're describing him as a short, little ugly colt. Really, the authors need to stick with what had been written before, not always change things!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
I loved this book! It was really good! Melanie's horse, Hi Jinx, hasn't been doing too well on the track. He finished last on the Fountain of Youth Stakes, and Kevin and Melanie continue to argue about Jinx's training. Then Allie steps in and tells them that Jinx would race better if they quit arguing. But everything turns out well in the end. And not only does Jinx do well in the race but Samantha's twins are born!

5-0 out of 5 stars GO WONDER!
This is a amazing book about hope for a little filly that only one girl has. Any horse crazy girl should read this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars DONT LET JENNINGS RUIN AND BREAK YOU RACING HEART
Wonder almost lost once but when Jennings and Jocko work with Wonder, she is teriefied and dislikes her jockey who used a whip once to many times on her. Wonder almost lost her love for Ashleigh but Wonder was too afraid to be herself. She once doesnt know who Ashleigh is and Ashleigh, Charlie, and Jilly try their hardest to turn the filly around annd into a racer and trust humans again. Ashleigh and Charlies hard work finally pays off and Wonder shows promise and heads for her first race. U ROCK WONDER.

5-0 out of 5 stars Faith in Wonder kept Ash going, even when all seemed lost.
This is the second installment in the amazing Thoroughbred series. In this book, Wonder has been put into yearling training under a rough trainer.Jennings thinks that Wonder has been babied all her life and it's high time she learned to be treated like a race horse.Wonder becomes a totally different horse as she he manhandled and whipped.Ashleigh and Charlie can see that this sort of "training" is ruining Wonder before she even has a chance to prove herself on the track.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is great!!
This book is the best book cause Shining and Glory are my favourite including Ashleigh's Wonder and more. But anyway Cindy is being a selfish brat and wanted March to Glory to win the Breeders Cup Classic but she doesn't want to hurt her step-sister's feelings when Samantha wasn't sure which race she should put Shining in the Classic or the Distaff. cindy loves Storm too and is training him herself. Poor Storm! I HATE CINDY!! i like samantha better.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cindys Honor
In Cindys Honor, Cindy Mclean is finally a jockey. Cindy rode Wonders Champion to victory in the Dubia World Cup. Wonders Champion was one of Whitebrooks fastest horses ever. Champion won the Tripple Crown with Ashleigh Griffen riding him. Wonders Champion was sure a champion. Cindy watched the colt grow up to be the biggest threat in the country. Now that Honor Bright was old enough to race. Honor Bright was Townsend Princess first foal. Townsend was also a great racehorse like her brother, Champion. Cindy watched the filly play with the other yearlings and beating them in racing around the paddock up to be a promsing racehorse. But during a workout, Honor throws Cindy off and Cindy is forced from riding. Cindy wont be allowed to ride any of the other horses and Cindy knows only she can ride Honor. Honor Bright is a picky filly who only likes certain people riding her. Then Cindy finds out, Ashleigh Griffen, the famous jockey who owned half intrest in Honor and helped trained the racehorses has put up one of Townsend Acres jockeys up on the filly. Townsend Acres was almost a rival with Whitebrook Farm for their racehorses. Cindy askes Ashleigh why she wont ride Honor when Ashleigh tells Cindy she is pregnate again. Will Cindy obey the doctors orders or will she watch someone else ride her beloved filly? Find out in Cindys Honor. Or email me at Blades60@aol.com

4-0 out of 5 stars good
Okay, sure this book was an interesting mystery, but NIGHTMARES? ok, that's not a common reaction, so ppl, don't, like, not buy thuis book because you think it'll be frightening, because it's not. In this book, Glory wins all of the races he's entered. Then, he wins some big race at the belmont by 16 lengths. They test him for drugs, and he ends up postitve. Of course, Whitbrook didn't drug him. So it ends up that someone is sneaking into the barn and drugging him so that he won't be any compettion, or to kill him. After a second time of Glory testing positive for drugs, Cindy sleeps in the barn. But while she's protecting Glory, she realizes, is she willing to risk her own life for his? Interesting book, messed up ending though.

5-0 out of 5 stars a heart warming story
i love this story. cindy has loved storm ever since she fisrt started to train him. then at one of his races he catchs a terrible desieces and must be put down. how terrible! if i was cindy i would of cried for days and days!!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cindys Heartbreak
In Cindys Heartbreak a colt named Storms Rancsom falls under a deadly disease wich can kill all the horses in the barn. Storm was bought by Whitebrook at an auction for thoroughbreds. whitebrook was a large breeding and racing stable in Kentucky. Storm was one of the finest horses you can find. While March to Glory is having a time of his life on the racetrack, Cindy Mclean helps raise Storm. Cindy was once a runaway orphan who found a home at Whitebrook. Cindy loves racehorses and racing more than anything. While her colt Glory is having a finishing racing career Cindy has helped raise Storm since he came to Whitebrook. If you asked him to jump off a bridge, he would just to make you happy. Cindy knew Storm would do anything for his rider and was the sweetiest thing ever. He showed promise as a sprinter and sprinted his way to victory. but after 2 long exzausting races, Storm became sick. When the vet responds, he tells the owners of Storm and Whitebrook that Storm has a deadly disease that can kill all the other horses and the best thing to do would be to put him down. Cindy almost died when she heard that they might put Storm down. Cindy beggs Ashleigh Griffen and Mike Reese, Whitebrooks owner to keep Storm in the icealation stalls. But Cindy knows that Storm would be stuck inside his stall for the rest of his life and not enjoying life of the outdoors and horse friends. Will Cindy give up the colt she watched grow into a champion sprinter or let him suffer? Find out in Cindys Heartbeak. Or email me at Blades60@aol.com

4-0 out of 5 stars This was probably the only book I cried to.
I loved Storm. He always tried his hardest to please Cindy and Ashleigh. He was always on his best behavior and would do anything for you. He ran his heart out in his races and when he losed he was heart broken. He was the sweetiest horse I ever heard of in the Thoroughbred series, and he was one of my top favoirtes. When I read this book I cried for a week or more and I am right now just talking about him. I have a parakeet named Storm and he is the sweetiest bird I know. I could compare him to Storm. He is always sweet and tries to please me. He hardly ever bites or anything. I also have a parakeet named Glory. I could also compare him to Glory. He is big, same color as Glory, sweet and hard to control, and kinda fast but faster than my others. Now Storm is just a dust in the wind in the books now. I still think of him and miss him terriobly and what would I do when my all time fav mare dies, (Ashleigh's Wonder.) ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Melanies Treasure
In Melanies Treasure, Melanie Graham, the city girl has lived in New York her whole life with her father, Will Graham. Will was Mike Reese father. Mike Reese and his wife Ashleigh Griffen own a large racing and breeding stable in Kentucky for Thoroughbreds. Will worked in his studio business and was never home for Melanie. So one night, Melanie and her best friend take 2 of the stable in New Yorks horses out for a night trail ride. But instead of having a great and fun time riding their horses, fun turns into diseaster. Melaines favoirte horse at Clarebrook, Milkyway pretty much stumbbles in the street, crossing to get to the park. But when Milkyway stumbles, a taxi hits Milkyway and Melanie loses her favoirte horse in the world. Milkyway was killed and Will sent Melanie to live with her aunt Ashleigh, Uncle Mike and Christina, Mike and Ashleighs daughter. At first, when Melanie comes to Whitebrook, she decides she hates it more than anything. Melanie wants to go back home in New York but when she sees the unperdictable colt, Pirates Treasure, Melanie felt one with the black horse. Melanie helped train Pirate to go in the starting gate without him balking or rearing. Soon, Melanie helps trains the dangerous colt to become a champion racer. but after Pirate crashes into the rail aster winning one of his races, Melanie feels that she has brought bad luck to Whitebrook and Pirate. Soon, Melanie finds out Pirate is blind after is accident and discorved the rail hit gave Pirate moonlight (or something like that) which has forced Pirate to end his career. But staying away from the track has caused depresion to the colt and Melanie knows he misses the track. Pirate harldy eats and is very weak. 5-0 out of 5 stars Melanie's Treasure
About the book: The setting first opens up in New York, where Melanie Graham lives. There we find a troubled young girl with a love of horses. Well that combination doesnt work out too great. Mel decides that she and her best friend Anslee should go for a moonlight ride in central park. Mel takes her favorite horse, Milky Way, and Ans takes Rams. While they were crossing the raod Mel's horse slips on a metal sheet covering a hole in the road. He goes down and in the prosses Mel dislocates her shoulder. At that same instant a Taxi comes speeding around the corner and hits Milky. Ans blames Mel for everthing that happened and as a result Mel's father sends her to live with her aunt and uncle on Whitebrook farm. This puts us in Kentucky once again. Once there, Mel finds she doesnt get along with Christina, everything she does is wrong, she finds out her beast friend hates her, andshe vows never to ride again. But then she sees Pirate's Treasure, a big, black, and blindingly fast Thoroughbred. She notices that he gives everyone a problem. She finds out that pirate and her have much in common. For example, the way people treat them. She takes on the responsiblity of caring for pirate, and eventually gets the guts to ride him. she discovers why he is misbehaving (he has moon blindness)and saves his life. She descides she would like to stay for the rest of the summer.
5-0 out of 5 stars Save Melanie and the rest of the Thoroughbred Series!
Melanie was my favorite character of Thoroughbred's second generation. She is quirky, spirited and very real. Not long after she accidentally causes the death of her favorite horse, Melanie Graham relocates from New York City to her aunt's Whitebrook Farm. Here she forms a bond with Pirate, a troublesome racehorse, and a unique story unfolds. One of my favorites in the series. Unfortunately, Harper Collins has decided to end the series abruptly after#72. With such a dedicated following and online fan base with members from all over the world, this is a classic and beloved series that has inspired many people and provided horse fans with vicarious thrills and adventure. 5-0 out of 5 stars A horse lover's dream...
This book is about a girl who takes care of a sick filly.I loved this book because it's about a girl who wants to be a jockey and that's what I want to be.I think that the lady who wrote this book did a good job with the characters. She makes it seem like you've known them your whole life.My favorite character is Holly, the mare (Wonder's mom).

Soon Wonder was retiered and produced many famous offsprings. But after a while, Ashleigh and Brad Townsend, who ownes half owner ship in Wonder and all her offsprings. They bred Wonder to one of Mikes stallions, Jazzman. Chris knows Star needs to come back home to Whitebrook, but with Ashleigh so depresed about Wonders death, Star has to stay. His trainer hradhandles Star and Star threw his rider and squashed him while backing him. Chris was fired as Stars groom and was not allowed on Townsend Acres again. Parker, Brads son has has enough with his parents and decided to move out and stat with Sam and Tor at Whisperhood. Chris kned she needed to get Star out of their and she and Ashleigh go back to Townsend Acres to retriev Star. Before they went, Christina and Parker had their first kiss and seemed so unreal. Finally Brad and Ashleigh agreed that Star can go and train at Whitebrook farm but if he dont in one of his first 2 races, he will be sent to Townsend Acres forever. This book was OK.Not the best book but still good. The horses sound so great.I wish I could go in the book and ride them!!!!!it's nice parker and Christina got back together. They're a cute couple.I wish Melanie and Kevin would get back together. And I wish Melanie had more books.Oh well .The TB series are great books.Only a few are not that good. But still this book is totally worth your money. Every single TB book is.Don't let anyone let you think there bad books.BECAUSE THERE NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!.HAPPY READING!!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it
This is a really great book. I like how Brad tries to pressure Parker into running Townsend Acres, but I have a question about the cover. Why is Parker putting a western saddle on a horse? That horse is either Star or Foxy, and since neither of them are western horses...
3-0 out of 5 stars Not the best...
I am not overly fond of the Parker books as it is and this one was a prime example of why that is. It has none of the elements that make this series what it is. Parker's character is inconsistant, Brad's predicatable. The Brushes With Fame cliche was annoying. I mean, Welton Romance? *coughs*

This book I really liked. It was awesome.I loved that Brad was bad guy, seeking around and lying about Star. They need to keep writing about him like that. It's really great when they do.I love how Christina gives up her Belmont money to save Image and Star.It was a great book everyone should read it.

the cover picture sucks!!!!!! what happened to them? they used to be sooooooooo good . i mean isnt star supposed to be a chestnut? And isnt Chris supposed to hav strawberry blond hair? i am so dissappionted with them. i grew up reading this series and i agree with everone else when they say its going downhill. these books used to hook me in and i wouldnt get up now i feel bored.

4-0 out of 5 stars a good start toward change
well, i'll start this by saying that i really didn't care for this book as much as i did starstruck, but i also don't think it was a step backward. it was just kind of boring. this book works more as vignette than a novel. however, mary was truthful when she promised us that brad would show his true colors. there really were some interesting scenes between brad and chris, and i am beginning to like chris's character much, much more. more so than mel's, in fact, but i never cared much for her anyway. chris really seems to be growing from a young, brash teenager to an introspective young adult. and we just have not seen the level of introspection with mel ever that we're seeing in chris's character since #58.
