4-0 out of 5 stars A conversational piece to read with your toddlers
This is an excellent board book to read with your toddlers, and explain the differences in shapes and sizes. Our family enjoyed looking for other items of similar shapes in our own home, while we sat and read this book together. That became a very enjoyable game for even my older toddler, who was no longer interested in board books. The one reference to "fat" and "thin" will actually make a good time to discuss how some words can be hurtful to others, and how to avoid them.My toddler surprised me with her sensitivity and ability to understand this complex matter.

3-0 out of 5 stars Thomas the Tank Engine Shapes and Sizes
While a cute little board book, this is one of the rare Thomas books that parents may want to approach with caution. It is a fun book for illustrating the comparative shapes and sizes of objects like tank engines and suitcases, but a reference to Sir Topham Hatt as 'fat' might put someadults and children off. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars how about some actual trains?
only 3 of the 10 numbers are represented by trains! My son loves all things Thomas, but he isn't interested in counting three railroad signs or four suitcases.I'm awfully glad that I looked at this book in the library before buying it.
4-0 out of 5 stars nice book
This is rather young for my son (3) but he still loves it being Thomas and reviewing the numbers can never be bad! It's a nice hard book and I wish I would have had it a year or so ago!

5-0 out of 5 stars Thomas the Tank Engine Counts to Ten
Of all the board books in the toddler Thomas the Tank Engine series, this is my 3-year-old's favorite! The illustrations are so colorful, and the engines and people so expressive, that learning to counting is alot of fun. Your child can count engines, people, and objects associated with a trainstation.Just the right size for little hands, durable, and priced rightfor parents who want their child to have various Thomas books. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Thomas is So Busy, from Morning to Night
It's a quick `good morning Percy' and Thomas is off in this two-part story about his busy day.In the first part of the boardbook ("On the track...") Thomas scurries about with his coaches, Annie and Clarabel, until it is time to go to the quarry where he helps Mavis and Toby with some Troublesome Trucks.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a nicely done series
My son Joseph loves all the books in this series. Any boy that loves Thomas the Tank will! They are easy to handle for small boys. The pages are durable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Same good stories, easy to carry around format
As every parent of a Thomas Fan knows, these books would better be durable and easy to carry. This book is an excellent combination of both. The four original stories are accompanied by the original illustrations, and put together in a durable hardcover, easy to carry format.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just Lovely for Train Lovers
When my 3-yr old takes an interest in something, it usually becomes an all-out obsession: dinosaurs, construction vehicles, space and so it continues with Thomas the Tank Engine. We've read other books and rentedvideos, but these books (there are four in this series) are his beloved. The stories are simple and plentiful with a bit of a moral to them, withoutbeing pretentious or zealous. The writing style is delightful: adult enoughnot to bore the reader and yet perfectly understandable for the listener(assuming it's a child!).The pictures are clear but not movie ortelevision tie-ins - it makes them more lovable! The books are small and myson loves to stack them and carry them around with him.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Read it on Best of Thomas
I read this book on my Best of Thomas DVD with and without narration, and I feel like getting this book. I also like to get Thomas tells a lie, and Hooray For Thomas. Percy had seen a dinosaur. He thinks it was a dragon. Thomas goes out. He tells Percy. He goes back to the forest. He doesn't know until the driver said it was a dinosaur model for the new dinosaur park. Harold comes and lifts the model on the flat truck. Men fasten it. Percy sees it. Thomas tells him "Don't worry Percy, this isn't a dragon. This is a dinosaur model for the new dinosaur park." He passes the school, and the children waved. He gets three cheers from Sir Topham Hatt and all the people who are desining the park and his driver, fireman, and conductor.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thomas stories for younger fans
This is my son's favorite Thomas the Tank Engine story because it is written at his level. The Jellybean Books are written for younger children and this story is very engaging and involves a dinosaur, a subject close tothe hearts of many youngsters. This is the perfect book for any youngThomas the Tank Engine fan. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing
Definitely pay attention to who the authors are for these books.Other books are much better than this one.The story line is weak at best and neither my son nor I want to read it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Magic isn't needed!
Stay away from the Thomas stories that involve magic. These stories are poorly written, and introduce an element (magic) that is both not nescessary and, in my opinion, cultish. The original author, Rev. W. Audry, was a Christian father writing to his sick son, and the first stories were filled with Christian morals that, though subtle, are prevalent even today. The tv show is a good example of clean, fun stories that teach kids how to work in harmony with peers of all types (and colors).
2-0 out of 5 stars Is Lady A Zombie?
We love everything Thomas, and to be truthful my son gives this a thumbs-up, but I think it's a little sub-par for most Thomas books.

1-0 out of 5 stars ridiculous
My son loves trains so I thought some cute little stickers would be a good idea for his stocking... Little is right, the book is tiny and there are maybe 6 stickers. It is just not what I expected I guess. I wasnt expecting much because it was only $1.50 but what is this "Sourcing Fee" that goes along with it? It ended up being around $3.50 for this little book... I would not recommend this. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun for Thomas fans!
My 2 1/2-year old son fell in love with this book. The flaps pull out not once, but twice on each page to reveal more of the story. Colorful, sturdy pages (but not cardboard). Not a good choice for those under two, in my opinion, simply because of the delicate nature of the flaps. My son destroyed almost every book he got his hands on as a young toddeler, but by 2 1/2 he was able to handle this book without incident. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars not for over 4 years
This is a very attractive book; but very few words. No story line and did not keep my son's attention.I am giving it to my sister's 2 year old. It's more for 2-3 year olds.I can't believe they would say it's for 4-8 year olds.My son is 4 and was pretty bored after one read-through.

I, too, as a proud owner of three Zahares originals, was looking forward to the publication of this book.I was surprized to see such few words, but with this typeart work, that is all you need.A simple book to readto youngsters.Looking forward to their next book Delivery.
