Infectious!
This book provides a fantastic way to engage a child in reading out loud. The rhymes stick with kids---and don't be suprised if they stick with you as well! "Four Fur Feet, Four Fur Feet!" I bought a copy for my niece and nephews, and now I want my own!

almost like being there
We have a teddy bear who is traveling the USA and abroad.While he is visiting an area we learn more about it.Our teddy is in Englad so we check this book out at the library.It full of full color photos that gave us a good idea of places and things that our teddy may be seeing.Full of information!Great for kids!
Great to get the kids excited but not much information
This book was OK.It got my kids excited but it didn't have much practical info.This cannot be to only book you use to plan your trip.

Great way to include the kids in trip planning
We bought this book for our 10 year old as part of our vacation planning process.It really helped her feel part of the process and empowered her to choose things she was most interested in seeing.We bought a different more comprehensive guide for the adults but still really appreciated the information and presentation in this kids' book.I wish there were more books in this series.We would have loved to have similar ones for our trip to Rome or our upcoming trip to Paris. ... Exquisitely Illustrated
The evocative, stunning illustrations and text certainly accomplish their purpose. Young readers will glimpse the majesty of the Grand Canyon and learn something about its past and present inhabitants. Wonderful, Entertaining Book!
This book gave Anarctica the personal touch.While most factual books leave a reader with an unreal sense of detachment, this book personalizes and brings us closer to the experience a traveler would have if they visited Antarctica.I loved the account of our author being visited by Emperor penguins and how she described the different kinds of ice to be found there.I was able to get a clearer picture of the place and identify what travel must be like there.I've heard of skidoos and some modes of travel before, now I have some sense of how it feels to use them.The photgraphs enhance the author's account and I am glad to be able to share this book with my students.I learned more about Antarctica from this book and am willing to believe they will too.

Interesting with lots of details
This short interesting book gives insight into the day to day lives of scientists stationed in Antarctica as well as explaining some of the types of research that is done there. Overall, this is an excellent book. It only left me with one burning question - who on earth is Daniel?? This is not a goodfirst choice if information is needed to write a report about the continent itself. But for additional information it is a wonderful choice. ... Read more

Must have!
The pictures are colorful, very detailed, and are a lot of fun to look at.It's narrated by a little girl who's venturing the famous sites of NYC.I had fun reading it and I'm

I thought that this was an excellent book.The pictures are great.I read it to my kids before visiting New York and after reading the book my kids could not wait to see all of the places that we read about.My daughter was especially thrilled to ride the same horse on the central park carousel that the little girl in the book rode.

BEAUTIFUL illustrations
"Finders Keepers?" by Robert Arnett has been honored with the Benjamin Franklin Silver Award of the Publishers Marketing Association for Best Multicultural Book of the Year, the Independent Publisher Outstanding Book of the Year, and the Seal of Approval of the National Parenting Center. This book is better for school-age children, as it really provides a geography lesson, a study in ethics and a brief insight into Indian culture.

Splendid Book

The first book in the Walker of Time Trilogy was probably the best book I have ever read, but it wasn't until last year that I discover there was a second and and a third one in the the series and I was in a frenzy to findthe sequels!When I did find them, I was far from dissapointed! A beautiful book from a fanciful artist
I love this book.I had seen some of the artworks in a gallery last year and am so glad to have found the book they belong to.It's a fun read and a fantastick family adventure.This would make a great introduction to the possibilities of theater and engaging in performance for any child with a yearning to act, sing, paint, or dance.

A beautiful, fun book; a must-have (at least for NY'ers)!
I bought this book for my 9-month-old twins.They won't be able to read it for a while, but it's waiting for them on their bookshelf as soon as they're ready for paper pages!!It's not a baby book, but I couldn't resist it when I saw it. Would give it ten stars if I could!

Great read-aloud!
We loved this book!My kids begged me NOT to finish our read-aloud time!We were glued to this book and ended up reading it a lot quicker than expected.It is graphic and true to life...read to young ones with caution!

Realistic to an extreme.
I am the daughter of a Vietnam veteran and my entire life I have grown up hearing stories of how dreadful it was to be there and how scary it was to be in a foreign land.Quang Huynh gave me a new perspective on this foreign land and made me see it as a very unique place with his relationships with his animals, family, and insight into his culture.This book was terribly sad, and at times it is a bit too real for one to handle.It is very well written and the stories are captivating.I reccomend everyone read it for a rare insight on Vietnam before the war.

This Adventure story is full of dangerous fun and sorrow. Huynh Quang Nhuong lives in a small hamlet (village)in the central high lands of vietnam. The hamlet he lives in has a jungle on one side in which they must watch for jungle cats, lone hogs and the most dangerous the horse snake. And on the other is a river which Crocodiles live in. Many of the crocodiles are man eaters like mister short. In the begin of the story you meet Tank the Water bufflo. Tank isn't your regular water bufflo.
