Great title for young readers
Lucy's Journey to the Wild West is a delightful look at the sadness and joy of leaving a home you love. Not only does it comfort children who are having to move from a favorite house or neighborhood, it shows them the adventure of moving and the excitement of meeting new friends and experiencing new places. An Incredible Journey
Living in upstate NY, the Hudson is a majestic presence flowing by on it's way to the city.I'd been to the source, and parts here and there, but this book was an amazing opportunity to travel the entire length of the river, see the sights and get to know the many characters of the river. Excellent resource for learning about the states of the U. S.
This is an excellent book for young children to learn about the states. A topographical map of each state is given along with diagrams and text explaining various facts about the state. Items like the state bird, state flower, state insect, state tree, endangered species in the state, primary crops, unusual natural features, famous people and other points of historical significance. I strongly recommend it for social studies classes or just for quizzes among family members.

Short, but many great pictures
In 1990, while climbing a mountain in Peru, Anthropologist and mountain climber Dr. Johan Reinhard found something astounding: the mummy of a young Inca girl. This short work is Dr. Reinhard's story. Great Armchair Travel Book
The woods where C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien used to walk together, the coffee shop where J. K. Rowling began her work on the Harry Potter series, the house that inspired the Borrowers, the locations of The 101 Dalmatians... A must-have for British kid lit fans
This is a great book for anyone who wants to plan a trip around, or include in their trip, sights related to favorite children's books. She even includes some of the books that are not as well-known in the US such as The Borrowers, Green Knowe and Greyfriars Bobby. Double check the details before you go, however, as some things have changed since publication. For example, the exhibit of children's manuscripts at the British Library is no longer there, sadly.

Brilliant idea ? scant execution
Written by a teacher who spent a year in England and Scotland with her family visited the sights mentioned in various kids' books. Not being from that area it is fun to visit the England that you are looking for whether it is the old Roman Empire or Shakespeare. For kids this book carries you through the England and Scotland of fairytales and stories. Each site has a small blurb and a black and white sketch.
