Worth the money
My family went on a 12 hour car trip, and I purchased 2 of these-one for an 8 year old and one for a 5 year old.It was great for the 8 year old-he loved everything about it.It was a little over the 5 year olds head, but he had fun "pretending" to do everything.So, all in all, I am so glad I got the book-it made the trip fun--we all loved looking for new license plates!!

Backseat Survival Guide Review

A Must for Road Trips!
We traveled for over a week across the country & my children (ages 4 & 10) didn't "use up all the fun" of this fantastic activity book.There were more than enough activities to keep them entertained not to mention including the parents in some of the silly games (Grown-up IQ test, lost on earth, duck your head & lift your feet).The spiral-bound book held up GREAT!The kids didn't use up the travel pad but what's left is looking pretty rough after getting wrangled around in the backseat so I'm happy to know very affordable replacement pads are available.If you're crunched for time & can't get your hands on a copy before your next travel then get one at any Cracker Barrel.It'll save your sanity & definitely reduce the refrains of "I'm bored" & "Are we there yet?" ... Are We Where Yet?
Travel can be confusing (and sometimes boring) to children, but this journal can help parents deal with that!My daughter and I found this book in the Houston airport as we were browsing stores during a long layover.I bought it out of desperation (after all, it had markers and blank pages!), but it turned out to be a wonderful investment.It is a very kid-oriented travel journal, with questions, hints, and prompts to guide the young journalist through recording their trip(s).It gives you and your child something to do together while flying or at night in the hotel, and as an extra bonus, it's a great show-and-tell item when your child returns to school.I've saved the journal for my daughter's trunk, so that years from now she can read her own thoughts about Oregon and Arizona!We highly recommend this!!(One aside:smart six and seven year olds will do just fine with this journal if you work with them.)

Don't leave home without it!
This travel journal is an excellent tool to capture vacation memories and relive them for a lifetime.The journal boasts brightly colored "topic" pages along with markers and stickers which allows the child's creativity to shine through in words and/or artwork.We've used this travel journal for three vacations and wouldn't leave home without it!

Makes 15-hour ride fun

Roadtrip
Great fun.The driver definitely cannot play.It would be good for the kids riding in the backseat.We played all day and added our scores when we arrived at our destination.

ABSOLUTELY love it.
I've had this game since it came out, and it still gets used at least 2-3x per month for long car rides.We live four hours from my inlaws, and the drive there (to rural Illinois) is soooo boring.But not with Rubberneckers!We don't REALLY follow the rules, but have modified them to match our needs.

Not what I expected
I bought this expecting simple maps that my daughter could use to track the routes we were driving.Well, it's simplistic all right.It doesn't mark many of the cities we drive through.It is more of a car activity book.It's got puzzles and games to keep children busy, but its maps are more like general overviews of the states.For children younger than seven, this is probably good.Older children would most likely prefer a real road atlas with all the roads and cities marked.
Loved it!
We bought a book for each of our two children.Our eight-year-old stayed busy with the puzzles, and had lots of questions about things on the maps which made for good car conversation (and good geography lessons for all of us).The best part was marking off our route with a highlighter pen at every rest stop; she could track our progress along the way and see exactly what town we were stopping in next.It made the "how much longer?" questions easier to answer ("Look on your map!").Our six-year-old was slightly too young for some of the puzzles, but liked highlighting the route as well as marking off the license plate state chart (hint: Mt. Rushmore is a treasure trove of license plates!).We will use these atlases on every car trip.Highly recommended.

Great Book for a Family on the Go!
This book is really fun for kids. My 4 year old really enjoyed being able to help navagate on our road trip. The pictures and maps are easy for children to understand. Also, the road games help pass the time on a long road trip. The only problem with the book is the decorative font they used on the heading of each page. It was difficult for my child to read and understand what the letters were. But that was only in the heading of each page. Everything else is very easy to read. Worth the 4 star rating I gave! ... the contents of this book WILL entertain kids as old as 80 !
Too short
This book is supposed to have Thousands of Miles Worth of Hands-On Games and Activities, and yet it is only 18 pages long.This book'll last you for less than 100 miles before you get bored of it, I reccomend Kids Travel instead.

Helps keep the kids busy
We've used the "52 Things to Do in the Car" on trips with our 3 and 5 year olds, and it has helped pass the time and keep them from getting too bored (or watching DVDs the whole time).We also use some of them on the plane.The "games" are good for a range of ages--some are too advanced for my kids yet, but others they can do with help.It's nice and small to bring along.You only need paper and pencil or crayons for most activities (imagining things, spotting things, letter and number games, pretending).Wish I had these on all those long car trips we took as kids!

Lots of good advice!
These cards are filled with good ideas and reminders of what it takes to find the right person. It's easy to get into a rut but these cards have ideas on how to get out of the house more and hopefully put yourself in a situation where you'll meet someone. These cards are well worth the money to give yourself a boost especially if you've been out of the dating scene for awhile.

A *COMPLETE* waste of money ... What a ripoff!
This was the worst waste of money I ever spent. All of the short, simple "tips" are self-explanatory; I can't even imagine anyone over the age of 9 not already knowing them. Unless you spend most of your spare time mugging people, I can't imagine that it would add anything to your life. I would very strongly suggest that you save your money and skip this one.YUCK! ... It's a place to start.
I've lived in the Seattle area almost all my life.I spent 10 years working in downtown.I feel I really know the area.However, in looking for a book to give me ideas of what to do with my kids playing tourist in Seattle this one didn't help.I'm now looking for another book to inspire me in planning out a full week.If you were a kid from out of state wondering what your parents were getting you in for, this book would be okay.Other than that, it's not really that helpful in planning a vacation.
