5-0 out of 5 stars Best Simpsons Book Ever
This is the ultimate Simpsons fan's book. It has all of The Simpsons seasons 1-8 in air-order, so you won't have any problem finding them. There are a lot of pictures and colors as well. There are even a list of Homer's D'ohs, Couch Gags, and Chalkboard Gags for every episode. This is well worth the money you pay for it; definitely should be bought by any simpaholic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book for a Great Show!
I bought this book when it first came out, and have re-read it often (fully, and partially) since then.It is an excellent reference for any "Simpsons" fan for the first eight seasons of the show. The pages are full of episode summaries, quotes, and trivia facts from the show.It also offers profiles of characters, and a list of who does what voice.A great source if you cannot remember what guest celebrity voiced a character or any other information like that.I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys the "Simpsons" and wants to know more about the episodes.

4-0 out of 5 stars I Do Like A Man Who Knows His Simpsons
Almost everything you could ever think to ask about The Simpsons is in this book. What was Bart writing on the chalkboard in "that one episode"? It's in here. The plots, inside jokes, behind the scenes tales and more await in this excellent resource for fans. This book harkens from the Conan O'Brien-era prime of the series, up to about the late 90's, when the quality (sadly) slipped big time. This was the golden age of The Simpsons, back before the series "became a cartoon." (Anyone who was a fan back in the day knows just what I mean.) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this book!
My sister got me this book for my birthday in May. I have some experience with basic quilting, but have never done applique. It is December now and I have made all nine sesame street character blocks in the book and they turned out GREAT! They were EASY and FUN! I subsequently taught my sister, who has no sewing skills, to make the blocks and she has made some of the muppet show patterns already. We are having so much fun and my 6-month old daughter is already fascinated by the bright, multi-textured characters on the blocks.

5-0 out of 5 stars loved it!
I am in the middle of workig on a new quilt inspired by this book. I really loved the phtoos and the ideas. The patterns were not great, but hte book is a wonderful inspiration!

4-0 out of 5 stars Mother of two toddlers
I bought this book a year ago and finished 2 Sesame Street quilts for my children for Christmas. The book gives a lot of great ideas.I did not use all of the templates that were provided but purchased a kite that had better scale characters to recreate. The stories about the quilts the author made are fun. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Little Bill searches his room for his best treasure
In "The Treasure Hunt" Little Bill is stuck at home on a day when there is no school (good news) but it is windy and rainy (bad news). His father is cleaning his scratchy old jazz records that Little Bill could not care less about and his mother is polishing her large silver platter and telling him (once again) that once day it will be passed down to him.Little Bill is so bored his brother Bobby takes him back to his room to show him the baseball cards that Uncle Al gave him, but Little Bill does not care about Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Sandy Koufax, Roberto Clemente or any other baseball player who were playing ball before he was even born (I can understand being unimpressed by jazz records, but not to be excited about baseball cards that are from 1966 or earlier is just plain wrong!).5-0 out of 5 stars I love Little Bill
My son is 5 and he relates to Little Bill very well..All of the stories are easy to read and understand for him.I would recommend this book and all other Little Bill books to parents who read with their children on aregular basis. The language and concepts are simple yet interesting withvery open ended solutions that can be applied anywhere and my son graspsthe concepts quite well.We also watch the t.v show which is a bitdifferent from the book, but like them both the same.

3-0 out of 5 stars The best of Bill's books
Well this is the best of Bill Cosby's books. It still falls way shortthough.Children learning to read need better than this.It stops andstarts. The pictures are great - I can't praise Miss Honeywood enough -yet the story disappoints.Best of Bill but my oh my this is pushing itOprah! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Sturdy but low content value
This book is about 8 pages long. The pictures are stills from the television show.In this volume, Po has a watering can which he sprinkleson items (ball, hat, bag) to make them "enormous."The flaps arelarge enough for little hands and sturdy. The story is: Po makes the itemsenormous and the teletubbies love their enormous items and each other, theend.Very small kids seem to like repetitous books, and this one isn't tooexpensive and at least the flaps will last. While the educational contentof this whole series is questionable, children really seem to love thesecharacters.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 10 month old loves the "surprise" behind the flaps!
This book is sturdy like the other board books and big enough to see the pictures really well. The flaps get worn out though, like any flap book. My son loves to see the watering can make the Teletubbies favorite thingsbecome "enormous"! The book provides patterns which are great foryoung children but also introduces "higher level" words such asenormous, lovely, and disappear. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Silver Age Teen Titans blow all the revival versions out of the water
Kid Flash! Robin! Wonder Girl! Speedy! Aqualad! How much better can comics get? Unlike the modern revival versions that are based on the premise that life is all about suffering and being grim and gritty, the Silver Age Teen Titans enjoyed themselves despite the occasional problem or downturn in their fortunes. They don't make comics like this anymore. More's the pity.

5-0 out of 5 stars Crazy DC teen adventure with just the right amount of silver-age satire and camp!
As a kid I grew up with the Teen Titans, but that was a later incarnation than the one in this Showcase Presents volume."My" Titans were the NEW Teen Titans created by Wolfman and Perez, but even that version built upon the history laid down herein.Plus, I've been a longtime silver age DC fan, even though I hadn't ever really got into the sixties Titans before. This volume was my chance to correct my omission.I'm glad I finally read these classic stories!

3-0 out of 5 stars It's a good book- BUT...
My 2 year old LOVES Blue's Clues. So when I saw this was available, I knew he would love the book. The pictures are colorful and vibrant, and the stories are interesting. Unfortuately, the pages come apart too easily. It's glued along the edge and they come apart at the seam. I have so many pages I need to tape back into the book. This book will not last long and what good is a children's book if all the pages end up loose on the floor?

4-0 out of 5 stars A Marykate Oslen Fan
I love this book, Marykate and Ashely think that a ghost is in a haunted house because they hear giggling, there friend Tim is missing, and there friend Princess Patty has lost her goldfish. Can they find out whos doing it? I love these books I have read all of them and I like this the best! I like the New Advetures of Marykate And Ashely more then Two of a kind. ( 8-12)

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this book!
Ashely and Marykate are twin detectives and they run the olsen and Olsen Detective Agency in there attic. Ashely is very loical but marykate always likes to trust her feelings.5-0 out of 5 stars Best One Yet!!!!
This is a fantastic read! Where most MK+A detective stories leave the reader wanting more The Case of the Giggling Ghost comes through big time! In my past experience with novels featuring the adorable twin gumshoes (namely The Case of the Missing Dong and Who Snatched the Cat?) I have been remiss to assert the title of masterpiece for two reasons 1: "Tensions" between the twins that, while sometimes alluded to in metaphor, lurk between the lines and suggest that the girls have not yet reached an full awareness of what it means to touch or be touched, and 2: Flimsy plot construction that, for the most part, centers around the solving of an external crisis that the reader half-heartedly endures. The Case of the Giggling Ghost resolves these issues in one brilliant stroke. The twins finally reach a level of maturity that allows them to envision themselves as more than asexual detective stereotypes. The "giggling ghost" in the story is an allusion to strange new sensations arising in the twins (owing an obvious debt to Baudrillard's "spontaneous laughter of the soul") which cause them to probe the nature of thier relationship. Using the wisdom they have aquired in solving past mysteries the girls search thier bodies for "clues". The internal conflict is alleviated (or solved) when the twins realize that the "giggling ghost" can only be silenced by pure unmediated "bottom-to-bottom" contact with eachother. So, if you love MK+A or are a first time reader this is definately worth your time and money. ... Read more

It's one of those unwritten laws of life: run a bath, and the doorbell rings. For Maisy the mouse, bathtime looks like it may never happen. She runs the water, puts in some bubbles, drops in her rubber ducky, and... "Ding, Dong!" Maisy's friend Tallulah the duck is at the door, tennis racket in wing, wanting to play. Maisy asks her to come back later. But as soon as Maisy undresses and pops in her bubbly bath, the doorbell rings for a second time. It's Tallulah, coming to play Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Tallulah, You Naughty Thing You!
Yep- it's a keeper. Maisy is just so patient and wonderful, as always. But pushy, impatient Tallulah keeps showing up. What can Maisy do?? Nothing, it seems, cause Tallulah is going to do just what she wants, which is play with Maisy. This one caused some concern for my 3-year old son, who wanted to know if I'd be angry if *his* friend, "a girl with braids" came and took a bath with *him*. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars It's cute
I've started reading Arthur's books to my sons and they love the colorful pictures in the book. The storyline is cute ~~ nothing spectular or exciting. Arthur invites everyone to his birthday party only to find out one of his friends, Muffy, has her birthday party the same day. Arthur decided to surprise Muffy by hosting the party at his house and all ends well.4-0 out of 5 stars Suprise Birthday
I really like the book Arthur's Birthday because I liked when Arthur figured out what to do when Muffy and his birthday are on the same day. He was kind and knew what he was doing.

5-0 out of 5 stars A nice, soft toy and colorful book.
This is the same story as on the TV series, wherein Arthur's birthday is on the same day as Muffy's and both want to have their parties at the same time. The fact that it's the same as on the TV show can work to your advantage in that kids know the story, whether you read it aloud or they read it to you. It gives them confidence in knowing some of what's going to happen. The colorful illustrations are fun to follow along with. The Arthur doll is soft and huggable with "glasses" that are sewn onto the washable body. The doll makes a nice prop if you're reading out loud to a small group. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars It's not that bad...
I'm a fan of the original Teen Titans comic books, and every now and then I watch the TV series. I, along with most people, thought this was just going to be stupid and pointless. But when my friend told me it had an FLCL reference in it, there was no reason I couldn't pick it up.
5-0 out of 5 stars Not the cartoon, but 2 stars?
I read a few of the reivews here, but mostly I just saw complaints like art styles off, titans out of character etc.
1-0 out of 5 stars Not The Teen Titans!
If you read this comic book, you will notice that, oh My GOSH!This is sooo not the teen Titans! Raven looks like a gray and purple swim suit modle, and is as sarcastic.Starfire looks a whole lot diffrent, and she leaves a tail of orange, from her hair, as she flies.Cyborg never says , "Boo-Yah!" in these books and is a Major in the Serious army (there is no serious army, that is a figure of speech!, acts a little like Robin in the show, and only plays video games once, and that is when all the boys are playing.Beastboy, is a little more stupid than he should be, and keeps acting like "The Boy Who Cried Wolf".Robin is very playful, and is not absessed with finding Slade. Not a very good comic! It was not based on the original Teen titans book, but if you read the original book, called "The New Teen Titans", you'll know this is the good Teen Titans!Still very bad, though... ... The third TPB of Geoff Johns' re-invention of the Teen Titans focuses on longtime Titan Garfield "Beast Boy" Logan. This TPB collects both the Beast Boy mini-series from 1999 as well as the Titans story; both of which are fine in their own right, but there's really nothing special here.Johns is a gifted writer (don't let Infinite Crisis fool you) but his knack for team superhero storytelling is replaced here for the conventional stuff that you'd expect from someone else. The art is solid enough, but as a whole Beast Boys and Girls feels completely unnecessary for the most part. All in all, this is worth checking out for Teen Titans fans who enjoyed the first two volumes, but there isn't much here to hold your interest.

5-0 out of 5 stars insight to the background
This TPB gives great insight into the character and orgins of Beast Boy of the Teen Titans. It helps explain what drives him to be the way he is. In the second part of the book, events show exactly what Garfield thinks of life. And it finally shows what a true rock that Beast Boy plays in the Team.

3-0 out of 5 stars Weakest Of The Three Titans TPBs
Beast Boys and Girls compiles two stories about Gar Logan, the Titan's Beast Boy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Maisy fans won't be disappointed.
My daughter, at 21 months, is on a real Maisy kick. She can't get enough, and particularly loves these Maisy lift-the-flap books. Not a lot in them for the parents, but also not a terrible chore to read over and over, since they are simple enough that she can pretty much read them to herself. She loves the silliness of this one, in particular (fish in the toilet, duck in the washing machine, etc.).I would definitely recommend this book to anyone with a Maisy fan in mind.

2-0 out of 5 stars Look in all the dangerous places!
We love Maisy, but this book had to be put away. Frankly, I think the publisher should pull it. As my husband pointed out, it encourages children to explore all the "forbidden" zones -- inside the (front loading) washing machine, where there is a lovely duck and in the toilet, where there's a friendly fish. Under the sink, where there is a cute snail. In the laundry basket, where there's a nice chicken. We're trying to keep our child from dropping toys into the toilet, emptying freshly dried clothes from the laundry basket, crawling into the dryer, and especially from getting inside the under-sink cabinet, and this book seems to encourage the exact opposite!

3-0 out of 5 stars Panda is Missing! Can Maisy find him?
If you are the parent of a young child, you probably know who Maisy is. She's a mouse with a duck, a squirrel, an elephant, and a crocodile for friends. Why the crocodile isn't trying to eat the others is beyond me, but that's life in Maisy's world.Read more

"Arthur's Computer Disaster" was a cute book. Any child would enjoy it. It's not only an easy reader that they would like reading, but it teaches a lesson. -What happens when your break the rules. 3-0 out of 5 stars For non readers only
Book is on the level of SEE SPOT RUN.Not for young readers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Arthur's in trouble now!
This is a great book to teach kids what happens when you break the rules. Arthur's mom tell him he can't play his new computer game while she's gone. But the game is really cool, and he doesn't mean to play it, exactly, just show it to Buster. But, as you might guess, things don't work out that way. Arthur is convinced he has broken the computer. D. W. worries that they will now be homeless, and it will all be his fault. But Mom is able to fix the computer and they all learn a lesson about following the rules.Read more
