NEVER a mistake with Richard Scarry!
When I was a little guy, I loved books by Richard Scarry! Now as a daddy, I'm overjoyed that my little girl, Riley, gets into this book that she got by Scarry.
Sometimes a Mistake Can Turn Out Okay, After All
Huckle Cat tries hard, but he makes a lot of mistakes. When his mother asks him to help with the chores he washes the dishes with too much soap and the dust really flies in his room when he dusts. Mom Cat gives him a list, which includes; butter, cream, apples, potatoes and oranges and sends Huckle to the store to do the shopping. However, Huckle forgets the list, but not worry, he has a good memory. So he picks up peanut butter instead of butter, ice cream instead of cream, apple pie instead of apples, potato chips instead of potatos and orange soda instead of oranges. Oh well, he kind of remembered didn't he? When he got home the cat family had a very interesting dinner and Mom Cat tells him that he made the best mistakes ever!
A Winner in Our House!
Our nearly three-year old daughter simply loves this book.She first got Richard Scarry's "Biggest Word Book Ever" (which I ABSOLUTELY recommend!), and therefore already knew the characters.She cracks up at the clumsy Mr. Frumble, who is always having accidents, and she is attracted to the kindness and friendship between Lowly Worm and Huckle Cat.She recognizes emotions and personality traits in this book...Mommy Cat is angry, Huckle Cat is sad, poor Mr. Frumble is "accident prone".These emotions are displayed in an age appropriate way.This book is a compilation of 3 short stories, and is one of the first "big girl" books she consistently wants to read, morning and night.Definitely the best few bucks I ever spent! ... A Book for All Kids!
This is an excellent book! TRUST ME!The story is about Arthur wanting a "treat timer" for his puppy.This story is very funny and I would recommend all kids read it!

Wonderful!!
I bought this because my daughter LOVES Maisy.We had previously bought the playhouse, and my 2 year old loved it so much, we bought this one too.My only suggestion is to laminate or tape up (with clear packing tape) the Maisy, Cyril, Tallulah, and Charley since they get worn out very easily.I know Maisy's arms don't move then, but my daughter didn't seem to mind.Otherwise, this will provide hours of fun!

Great idea but.....
I love the concept of this pop-up Farm, the design is adorable. However, my 3 year old, who is extremely gentle with her things, has accidently ripped many of the parts & pieces. It is not built that well!I keep a glue stick with me every time she plays with it, which is daily.The cut outs of Maisy & her buddies are very cute.

Great fun and keeps them busy for ages
This book opens out to form a pop up farm scene - complete with vegetable garden, barn, stables etc.All the peices that you use to tell your own story need to pressed out of a thin card before you start, but there are lots of surprised hidden amongst the walls of the pop-up to discover for yourself.A small book is also included.Read more

Simply colorific!
I got this book from the library the other day.I loved it so much that I am ordering it for my children.The book is full of colorful illustrations.Each page introduces a new color. The story is delightful. Drawin' the Simpsons
This is just great! I'm sure every Simpsons fan has wondered if they could draw America's favorite family, and I'm sure plenty of you have got it down-packed. But if you just can't draw Bart's head, or Marge's body, I strongly suggest you buy this book (and afterwords, if you STILL can't draw them right, trace, hee hee). The book teaches you how to draw Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie's anatomy, and the best thing about the book is if you look at a picture of another character (for example, Apu), you can use Homer's anatomy (not making him so fat, mind you) and draw Apu from there. It's a great guide, so if you're a Simpsons fan and love to draw...buy it. Buy it now!

This is one of the best cartooning books ever
I am an illustrator, animator, AND I work at Fox. My copy of this book has gotten so much use over the 7-odd years I've had this, it should be falling apart. This is why this is such a great book: Wanna draw the Simpsons? Get this book!
Let's start this review with some reality. If you read the buying info carefully you will note the book is only 36 pages! So you are not going to get a college course in all of the Simpsons methods!...This book only gives you info on the Simpsons core family...Bart,Lisa,Maggie,Marge and (My Fav) Homer! Just learning to draw his stubby fat fingers is a riot!And yes,....you do learn secrets! You learn the secrets to the scale and balance of these characters....that Marge's hair is about 2 bowling balls high, bart's hair has 9 points, Lisa's hair has 8 points, you learn how many eyelashes each character has and how to place them, how the eyeballs should be placed on the head in comparison to the nose, how each characters hands and feet details should be drawn..... True, it is only 36 pages but it does give you all you need to start drawing the Simpsons family. What did I not like about this book? I really wanted tips on Mr. Burns, Moe, Smithers, Krusty.. Who is this book for? This book might be for a beginner but I doubt it. Want to learn how to draw? Look elsewhere. Someone with some skill or ability who wants to learn how to draw the Simpsons? Yes! On the side for extra cash do you street sketch, air brush at the local mall, do cartoons, do charicatures? Well, then get this book and use it to expand your portfolio. Tiff at GMS
The story was mainly told in the forest. The main characters in the story was Franklin. The minor characters were bear,rabbit,foxbeaver skunk. The theme was that this book would be that school is alot of fun and don't be afraid to go there. School is a good learning experience. The style would be that the author has a picture on every page and it has friends playing and having fun on every page.

Loved It!
I loved the case of the Game Show Mystery! It is really good, it is one of my favorite books in the series! Here is a summary of the book. Mary Kate and Ashley have just won a chance to play on their favorite game show Double Trouble. They are really excited, but when they get there they have yet another case to crack. Someone seems detirmened to make sure Mary Kate and Ashley lose. Mary Kate and Ashley have to figure out who is causing all the trouble before it is too late! I hope you decide to read this book! It is great!

My favorite "New Adventures" book!
This book wasn't like other "New Adventures" book. The Case of the Game Show Mystery actually had an interesting story line.Plus, what made it a good read was that it was both fictitious but realistic in a way. This book is about when Mary-Kate & Ashley are picked to be contestants in their favorite TV show, "Double Trouble". But there is someone who wants them to lose...BAD. fabulous ideas
This book has so many great ideas using many easy to find objects. It even includes a little packet with 2 pairs of eyes, some faux fur, a few feathers and other sundries. The day this book arrived, my daughter and I made 3 puppets. In the next several days we made many more out of socks, oven mitts and other things that were just laying around the house. If you hate to throw things away, you'll love this. After reading the book, you'll start looking at your trash with new eyes. Old paper towel rolls, band-aid tins, fabric scraps, plastic spoons, small plastic bottles you might throw out, sponges, pot scrubbers, erasers--all these things can be transformed into puppets. beautiful book, whimsical puppets....
but children will not be able to reproduce the puppets pictured.Maybe that is the point, that you can make puppets out of anything.So the book is good for inspiration.But don't expect to be able to make the puppets quite like they do! ... Read more

My students love this book
I teach first grade. My students love this book because the children in this book are just like them! I like the book because it is easy for them to read, has great pictures, and is in the form of a short chapter book so they feel they are smart readers. I also like the morals and lessons in the book. This book and other Little Bill books are great!

Little Bill learns a lesson about telling the truth
At the beginning of "My Big Lie," one of comedian and educator Billy Cosby's "Little Bill Books for Beginning Readers," Little Bill is in his room being punished for telling a big fib by having to copy a story called "The Boy Who Cried Wolf."Most young readers will already be familiar with that ancient story, but if they are not Young Bill retells the story and then goes into why he is being punished.Young Bill tells his parents that he is going to ride his bike to the pool to practice with a friend for the swim meet.His mother warns that they are having an early dinner at 4:30 and Little Bill says he will be back by then.But on his way to the pool he sees the guys playing basketball and ends up playing with them.The next thing he knows it is 7:00.Big Bill knows he is in BIG trouble and his friend tells him he had better think of something fast. Every year my students have a choice of choosing a book from the stack of 'Little Bill' books, and this one is always the first one they pick.The moral of this story is one that not only teachers wish to inflict, but parents, as well.It has a great way of introducing THE BOY WHO CRIED WOLF story into the classroom.I also enjoyed how it introduced a way to discuss the definition of a "fib".This book was great for my students because we were able to explore in more detail the meaning of true "trust".I recommend this book to every teacher and every parent of elementary aged children. ... A Game of Blue's Clues Once More
"One for Me, One for You" is a 2006 "Blue's Clues" book, #20 in the series and all about sharing. While some of the recent "Blue's Clues" books have featured Blue and the other dogs talking, evne without Blue's Room, this book reverts to the format of playing the Blue's Clues game. Also, Blue seems to look a bit different in this book --- a bit cuter. I think her face is a bit more rounded.

GREAT STORY, GREAT LESSON LEARNED BY FRANKLIN
I like Franklin books and stories and this, like most of the series, lived up to my expectations.Franklin tells a bit of a fib, and naturally, as is usual in such cases, is caught.Franklin is just like any other kid of this age, sometimes the tall tales are just to tempting when wanting to impress friends.The story is quite well illustrated, the text matches the illustrations and this is just a good read for children.This is a wonderful book to discuss the subject of telling untruths with the children. This work holds the childs interest from page one and they love the illustrations. I was pleased to see that the author did not have the parents deal out some sort of awful punishment for his crime.Most often, just the fact of being caught in a fib, the embarrassment, is quite enough to teach the child (or in this case, the turtle) a good lesson.I can well remember when I was that age.Had I been "punished" for all my tall tales I would still be serving time.All in all, an excellent book and I highly recommend this one.

Good book to show that lying is not a good idea. However, Franklin is never really disciplined on why it is not a good idea to lie.

Franklin Fibs
This story was about a turtle named Franklin who lies to his friends. Franklin�s friends can all do something unique like climbing the highest tree, flying over the berry patch without flapping their wings, and chopping down a tree with using just their teeth. Well Franklin gets really jealous so he makes up a lie. Hetells all of his friends he can eat 76 flies in the blink of an eye. The lesson this book teaches is not to lie.
