5-0 out of 5 stars Forever a Work of Art
I thought Peter Lerangis did an exquisite job at creating a suspensful setting. This book is about a 14-year-old, Adam Sarno, still trying to relieve himself of the four years of grief in result of his best friend drowning in a hockey accident. He finds a video camera that everyone thinks is broken, but he can see into the past with it. Is he merely insane or gifted? The ending was very shocking.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great for kids
I am a teacher in Newark and had my students read this book in class. They could not put it down and kept reading ahead awaiting what would happen next. Any parents trying to get their child to read should get this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars I never would have thought...
Wow were the first words that came out of my mouth. That day I had just gotten back from a used book store and picked this book out. This had been the best book I had ever read. The ending was fasinating and the style of writing he used was, well... super.I loved this book so much I rushed to school the next day and got all my friends to read it.They loved it too, but that wasn't enough, I then got my family to read it.My mom was estatic.I then had to get the rest of the series. And, just like the first, I love them and always will. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Truely remarkable
Everyone has a passion, something that they will love their entire life and never grow out of. For Jake Branford, it's war. Not just war in general, but the Civil War. Everything about it makes him light up and motivated to do anything. He spends his afternoons and evenings writing Civil War novles based on the dreams he has. His dream is to somehow revisit the war, but obviously he knows it will never happen. War reinactments dont cut it for him. One day a famous independant film director arrives in his quaint little neighborhood community in search of stars for his latest film which is about the Civil War. Jake strives to impress him, but feels he only is doing a mediocre job and disappoints himself, oblivious to whatever Mr. Kozaar, the director, thinks of his abilities. Frustrated, Jake puts the thought out of his mind. One afternoon his bike ride is interrupted by a terrible thunderstorm, and before he can get underneath shelter in time he is struck by lightning. When he awakes he happens upon a Civil War reinactment that seems free to participate in. He wanders into the scene and immediately finds himself being questioned about his preference...North or South. He says he is loyal to the North and they accept him. He is given a uniform and shown around the realistic regiment, even though he knows it is not real. He gets to know the men of the regiment and soon lives his dream when they tell him of a plan to attack the Rebels. However, soemthing strange is going on. Jake's neighborhood all of a sudden is an old-fasioned war era ghost town. The guns are real and one of the actors actually draws blood from Jake with a blade out of anger. One night a surprise attack from the Rebels leaves Jake horrified when he witnesses men actually being slaughtered and killed. He knows that it is no film, and things get truely scary when he learns that there is an unknown traitor in the regiment that is stalking all the men. How will he get home? What exactly is going on and who is the traitor?3-0 out of 5 stars David N. Ist period book review

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST BOOK I EVER READ!
This is the best book I've ever read! It is a really origonal idea and it may not seem very scary to some people but it scared me to death, the idea of finding out you're one of several clones and all the other clones died when they were a week older than you! I have to AT LEAST skim through the book every day, I love it so much! It has a surprise ending, but I'm not going to tell you what it is! My mom read this book, and even she loved it! Anybody could enjoy this book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Peter Lerangis does it again
Eve Hardy is, what you might say...a bit crazy. When she is strong-willed, she becomes the tough "Caroline" and nothing bothers her. When she is angry she becomes "Alexis," the no-nonsense girl who is always equipped with a comeback. Eve has been like this her entire life, and she knows who these people are...and they're not her. Her mother adopted her when she was very young, and so Eve has always felt out of place. So when she learns she has a sickness that is supposedly shared among these other girls who are linked to Eve, she decides to set out to learn about her parents, figuring that they would know about her condition. But Eve is losing time. She's losing strength and she is losing her will. The sickness is making her age rapidly and so one minute she's full of energy and the next she's dozing off. Her best friend is helping her, but she's having trouble without Eve always there. When Eve learns of a Dr. Black who worked in a cloning lab, she is determined to find out what her sickness is, just who the other five girls are, and where her real parents are.5-0 out of 5 stars Better than R.L. Stine books!
I like Watchers. The books are hard to find but I managed to read No.1-4. I haven't read Island (No.5) yet but I reserve it atthe Toa Payoh Library. It isn't scary (I'm not that type that scare easily by books) butthe story, the plan is beautiful it's very interesting. My classmate agreedwith me when she finally started reading it (boy, I recommended it to herso long ago and she only read it now!). Those people who didn't read itdon't know what they're missing. P.S. This is my favourite book inWatchers. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This series just gets better and better and better and......
This is a great book about a kid called Sam and the other guy in him. It is written a little differently than the other watchers books that I've read. (watchers 1-4)cuz of a little tiny twist in the plot near the end. I won't tell u cuz it's a secret you'll have to read it your self. It's a great book to read and never gets boring. Once you read the first paragraph you just want to keep reading (unlike those boring 1000 page books that is total junk the first couple hundred of pages.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Watchers books get better and better
Sam Hughes has always had something seriously wrong with his head. He hears a voice screaming at him violently, it's frequently in agonizing pain and things are getting worse. It's all linked to Turing-Douglas, a labratory that his parents have been working in his entire life. Their job envolves A.I. and artificial humans, but there's more to it than that, and it envolves Sam. His brain is always calling out to Kevin, his unborn twin brother, and now Sam learns that he himself is calling for Kevin now in his sleep. As his parents become more and more detached from him at home, his condition gets worse and worse and he has no choice but to find out what is wrong with him. When he sneaks into Turing-Douglas one night, he learns what the A.I. really is for, what is wrong with him and that there is way more to it than just what his parents are doing. He has been a part of the tests his entire life and he has not known it. The tests are hurting him and making him think irrationally, and unless he can put a stop to it he'll be killed by the A.I.4-0 out of 5 stars A reall scary thriller!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best books ever
He is on a ship he and the busboy jump off to swim. they get seperated at a cloud wall (which goes to a different world Onieron that he doesn't know about)he goes there and he finds a picture album he sees a picture with the busboy (the busboy didn't want to live forever in Onieron.) they tell him that if he leaves the island they will die but he doesn't understand why. WHY WOULD THE BUSBOY WANT HIM IN ONIERON?5-0 out of 5 stars You cannot pass up the oppertunity to read this.
If you haven't read any of the other Watchers books yet, no problem. None of them are related to each other in terms of storyline or characters, but they're all truely exceptional books. Just stay away from this one until you've read the others, though, if you really want to save the best for last. Island is the most impressive and clever one ever written, and leaves you with a bittersweet feeling that no other author can pull off as well as Peter Lerangis. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great, as always
This book, like the others, is a little spooky, but that's okay. It's about a girl who is really unhappy. Then she meets a boy who takes her to a mysterious island. The island is sort of spooky, because you just knowthat there's something wrong with it, but that's okay.I can't say anymore without ruining the plot. P.S. The Antartica series is a greatseries for readers that want books that are a little longer.None of thesci-fi stuff, but still great. ... Read more
