4-0 out of 5 stars A good book, but hard to get used to British phrases...Review by YMP, Age 11
Review by YMP, age 11:
5-0 out of 5 stars Looking forward to reading The Dare Game
This book is fun and very easy to read and a little bit sad at the same time. It's the story of a girl named Tracy who hates almost everybody around her, but she really loves her mom and wishes she would come pick her up from the children's home. She likes to think her mom is a Hollywood star.Tracy thinks she is the smartest girl and she's a little bit self-centered (I think you'll understand this from the book cover!).After she meets Cam, she starts to like other people.
5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful story about Tracy Beaker!
While I was in the library, walking down the various aisles, I saw this book, and thought that it was a little strange for a children's book. Curious as to what the story was about, I decided to take it. Once I started reading it, I just couldn't put this book down. I finished reading it entirely in one sitting. It is one of the best books that I feel I have read recently.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Illustrated Mum
This was a great book and I really liked it. The book is from the point of view of the younger daughter named Dolphin and it's about her mum, Marigold, not really a regular mum. She is covered with tattoos that all have a meaning or memory in her life. She goes out a lot and drinks. Dolphin tries to take care of her mum, but her sister, Star, has gotton tired of her behavior and doesn't care much about Marigold anymore. One night when Marigold goes to see Emerald City's reunion concert and finds her old boyfriend that see was always crazy about and is Star's father. Star loves her father and he loves Star, but he doesn't love Marigold. Star ends up living with her father, breaking Marigold and Dolphin's heart. Marigold even goes more crazy and does something so SHOCKING! Dolphin gets so scared that she calls for an ambulance, even though she knew Marigold hated hospitals. Now Dolphin is alone and doesn't want the Social to get involved. So she and her only friend, Oliver, end up looking for her father with the only information Dolphin knew about him from her mum, that his name was Micky and he was a swimming teacher. " ' This is an emergency,' said Oliver. 'One more' "..." ' Oh, hello. Look, this sounds a silly question but can you tell me if there's anyone called Micky working as an instructor at your pool?' 'No Mickys,' said the voice. 'See,' I mouthed at Oliver. 'None at all?' Oliver persisted. 'Well. I'm Michael. I did get called Micky once. But that was ages ago.' ........ 'Oh gosh, oh gosh!' Oliver squeaked. 'And do you ever remember meeting a lady, a very pretty lady weith red hair and lots of tattoos?' 'You mean...Marigold?' " ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fanciful...
Obviously, this book is a little far-fetched.And I did have some misgivings about young teenagers running off to see a concert, and going with men who are total strangers.I prefer to look at this book as a cautionary tale - basically what not to do.It is very entertaining, and the characters are somewhat relateable.I believe that certain incidents that may occur in real teenage life are included and exaggerated to make for a good read, and as a crystal-clear warning, that the characters' actions are not to be copied.

4-0 out of 5 stars Girls in Love
The book I read was Girls in Love it is about three girls who are best friends and are very close with each other. And with the entire drama goings on in Ellie's life she needs her best friends in the whole world Nadine and Magda. Ellie one of the three girls is obsessed with her weight she says she is fat and doesn't like the way she looks. Nadine is the kind of gothic one so everyone tells her. And there is Magda the pretty one who loves to show of her legs. Well in this book Ellie desperately wants a boyfriend and as Nadine and Magda show of their boyfriends or flirtations during the summer. Well Ellie also met a boy named Dan who is a nerdy guy who she only likes him as a friend. But he likes her as more than a friend. So Ellie passes him as her boyfriend but gives him the characteristics of a cute boy she is crushing on. And then Dan is writing letters to her that is the way they communicate. He tells her how he feels about her so that kin of messes up the plan of her saying he was her boyfriend. Also after each chapter there is a list and the list has nine things that happened to her or that she is planning to do like one of the most important one to her to get a boyfriend. This book is an awesome book because it is so true because at Ellie's age we girls worry about our weight the way we look when we a really cute guy.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love It!
Girls in Love is the first book in the Girls Quartet. This book is about Ellie, a girl starting the ninth grade in London. She is all ready to start ninth grade with her two best friends, Magda and Nadine. Right before school starts, like always, her family takes a trip to the cabin in Wales. And surprisingly, Ellie finds a guy, Dan, that like liked her. Only Bad part, Ellie doesn't really want him for a boyfriend for many reasons. A nickname like Dopey Dan, isn't really what she wanted. When she gets home, she discovers that Nadine has a boyfriend! A tall dark and handsome one, that surprisingly looks like he would go for Magda and not Nadine. And suddenly, everything in Ellie's life turns in to misery. She's lying to her friends, She is getting tacky love letters from Dan, Her dad and Anna ( her step mom) are always arguing, Eggs (her brother) is being annoying as usual, she misses her mom and she wishes she was thinner and could fit into something great. One night, at a party, trouble starts with Ellie, and no one could save her. Her rescuer come! Oh my its dopey Dan!
5-0 out of 5 stars I'm Falling In Love With GIRLS IN LOVE
In the book GIRLS IN LOVE it shows how the main character, Ellie, deals with all the problems that a fourteen year old girl goes through, boys being one of those main problems. She never let it get to her but when she finds out her two best friends, Magda and Nadine, have boyfriends she gets jealous. Ellie met a nerdy boy named Dan on vacation and he started writing her love letters. Ellie never wrote back until she got herself into a big mess. She told Magda and Nadine that she had a boyfriend too. She showed them all the letters he wrote to her and explained what he looked like, and how they couldn't meet him because he lived a few hours away. But the Dan she described wasn't the real Dan, it was a tall gorgeous athletic boy she saw walking to school everyday, the real Dan was short with glasses, your typical nerd. She knew she had to tell her best friends the truth about Dan, but would they hate her and make fun of her and tell everyone else how she was childish enough to make up a boy friend?

5-0 out of 5 stars Lottie!
Lottie's real name is Charlotte, but noone calls her that..... until this 'horrible' new teacher Mrs Beckworth arrives, and doesn't let her sit next to Lisa (who Lottie has saved the best place for), but makes poor Lottie sit next to that swot Jamie. Lottie hates Mrs Beckworth, and sends around humorous poems about trains and teases about Jamie. Lottie's teenage mum, Jo, is having problems with work but suddenly Mrs Beckworth gives the class a project. it is about the victorians and Lottie writes a diary about it. she buys Jamie, who comes her friend in the end, some postcards and everything but then Jo gets a nerdy man called Mark as a boyfriend because she babysits his son, Robin, who is small and shy and has a little stuffed robin toy that his mum made for him before she died. lottie lets him use her felt pens but he just draws a house and his mum and dad and himself. when Jo and Mark go on a love ride on a picnic where Robin is sick, Lottie sees them kissing and bullies poor robin until he runs away from home and then there is a search party because everyone is worried and he gets found and put in hospital and lottie makes him a cake and draws him pictures of birds. lottie suddenly feels bad and crys in her bathroom because she doesn't feel old and hates herself. she even needs the comfort of her old barbies, which are packed away in her drawer and she and jo used to dress them and drive them to posh parties to make them dance, and jo enjoyed this more than lottie! you should read these other books too:

The Mum Minder5-0 out of 5 stars Another hit book by Jacqueline Wilson
Another GREAT book by Jacqueline Wilson. This one tells the story of Dolphin, her sister, and her mum. When they were little girls, Dolphin & Star loved their mum with all their hearts, Dolphin still does, but she's not too sure about Star. Dolphin always felt that Star was the favourite, even more so now, and she had gotten used to it being that way. But then, Star meets her dad, whom the girls have never met before and Dolphin's whole world gets turned up side down. Will things ever go back to normal? to find out you have to read the book! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Comme ci, comme ca
This book is good. Though I have read a Jacqueline Wilson book called, The Diamond Girls and it is better than this book. It had all kinds of different problems. In this book Eleanor Allard has problems that are non stop and are all the same problems. But I have also read another Jacqueline Wilson book called, Double Act, it was not very good. It had no boys or cosmetics. So this is my reason for giving Girls in tears four stars. This book was not the best book I have read, but not the worst.

5-0 out of 5 stars Girls in Tears, Love the Series!!!!!
I enjoyed this book a lot! I like this book, and the other books in the series, because they have real life situations in them but they all have a little bit of a twist, which makes them more interesting!
4-0 out of 5 stars GOSH!!! TEENAGERS! THERE SO STUPID!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars book reveiw on girls out late
name of the book: girls out late4-0 out of 5 stars Very Late!!!
Ellie goes to the mall on a normal day with her two best friends and happens to meet this eleventh grade boy called Russell in McDonalds and they stay out very very late. Now, though this may be romantic to some of the people, I think it is also very freaky, but it is very realistic that's what I like very much about this series, and the coincidences that happen between Russell and Ellie, stuff like misunderstanding Russell stood Ellie up, and Russell's school dance colliding with the Claudie concert Ellie is going with Magda and Nadine can really happen. I just think that the first two chapters are just far too hopeless and staying in the park with a guy you don't know is kind of dangerous, but the end is connected to real life and the decisions were smart and makes a nice story.

4-0 out of 5 stars For fans of Georgia Nicholson and Alice McKinley
In this latest installment in the English series about chubby Ellie, boy-crazy Magda, and elegant Nadine, a lighter issue is the focus of the plot: curfews.Ellie at last has a real boyfriend, but her desire to meet with him is stronger than the desire to get home on time, much to the frustration and worry of her father and young stepmother.A subplot of a crush on the new art teacher is sweet and easy to relate to.Read more
