4-0 out of 5 stars Incredible books for young adventurers
I read these books when my family lived in Germany. Many a cold winter evening we would all sit around the living room reading our individual books. Dad was reading his "Balkan Ghosts", Mom was looking at a "Family Circle" magazine, my brothers and sisters were reading their different things or playing a board game...but I was in Denmark during the 1940's experiencing the thrills and excitement of being chased around, helping people escape, write illegal and underground newspapers with Peter and Elise Anderson...the Hero and Heroine of the series. I was totally and completely captivated. These books provided hours and hours of wholesome enjoyment for my mind's eye. My imagination was set ablaze by these books like no other that I have ever read. 5-0 out of 5 stars Very good author = Very good books!
I've always treasured every Star Wars book I could find, but when I came across these books they really fascinated me! The whole is great. If were attracted to the book, but have doubts about buying it, look no further! Myopinion is that these are very good books for any time, any place! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars You'll love it!
This, and all his books in the series are great for adults or children. The excitement continues from beginning to end.As an American who makes her home in Denmark, I can attest to the books' historical accuracy. While they are about WW2, the details are not distateful or violent. The message is also clear and simple. This is a story that should be told, to remind the world that we must stand for justice and what is right, as some Danes, years ago did.(While the children are fiction, the historical facts are very real, something Danes are proud of, as they should be!)

5-0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed it
I thought that A way thought the sea was an excellent book. I thought it was one of the best books I have read in a long time it was exciting, adventurous and interesting. I have read other book by Robert Elmer and I thought thay were great.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Young Underground Series
My children and I very much enjoyed all 8 books in this series. Although the escapades that Peter, his sister Elise, and friend Henrik get themselves into are far-fetched, my children very much enjoyed these books and did not want me to put them down until we'd finished reading 'just the next chapter.' I was pleased with the historical references and the epilogue that would relate the book to the actual historical background that it was based upon. I chose the books, originally, because of the author's dedication to remembering his Danish heritage, which we also share in, and for its sound Christian ideals.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great book!

5-0 out of 5 stars They are hits with the students!
As a librarian and mom of students in a classical school I see Class 4-6 students eager to read these books. Having the historical education to reflect back on, students are delighted to have this historical fiction series to reinforce their leaning.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Action Packed Plot Makes For Great Reading
The incredible writer Robert Elmer has really outdone himself on this one.The roller coaster of ups and downs provides the reader with a set of emotions different from any other book.Just when you think the plot has settled back down, it throws you right back into suspense. For example, right after they receive the phone call it seems like they're not going to the island. Then in the next chapter the reader is surprised to find them going to Bornholm. The climax and ending are so good it's very hard to put the book down.5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book!
