A mixture of great photographs and good information
I found this book to be very informative about birds of prey, and I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a general understanding of birds of prey.

In addition to the extraordinary photographs in this book, the author is clearly someone who respects the subject matter and life in general.That comes through in the work this author has done with the birds and with a camp.

Effective reasearch tool for students

Truly Excellent Bird Book!!
This has become one of my favorite books on birds. It is packed with very interesting information. You are guaranteed to learn something new! I bought this book for myself, but whenever I picked it up my children wanted me to read it to them also. The illustrations are wonderful! I have always enjoyed Rebecca Rupp's easy delivery of so much useful information in such an understandable, relaxed, and often humorous fashion. Before I had even read halfway through the book, I ordered my mom-in-law (a fellow bird-lover) a copy for herself. It is a quick, easy read. You'll probably finish the book before you want it to be over. I am thrilled to have added this book to my collection and would highly recommend it for just about anyone interested in birds or learning new things. ... Read more

Cameleon-lite:Sounds great but falls short on content
The content and photographs are not what I expected especially based upon the review from the publisher.The photos did not appear very professional and seemed washed out.Many of the chameleons in real life are not sodull.The content is very basic and generic and provides no realapplicable information other than what you could find on a book sleeve.Iwas quite disappointed. ... Wonderful text, amateurish illustrations
Karen Wallace's text is informative.It is also rhythmic and nuanced in the style of Margaret Wise Brown -- a very difficult combination to pull off, and she does it extremely well.Unfortunately, the illustrations look like rough sketches.They couldn't have taken more than a few hours to draw and would look second-rate if you saw them in a newspaper comic strip.It's a shame that text that combines accuracy with artistry should be saddled with artwork that possesses neither quality. ...
