This is certainly one of the best book written on delta-sigmas but a good book on the subject has yet to be written.
A Univied, Consistent Approach
Much of the recent literature on digital signal processing has concentrated on the digital aspects of the task. The result is a surplus of books on the digital signal processing chips and programming techniques.

Expensive but well organized and easy presentation to read
I like building circuits and playing with electronics. It is one thing to build a circuit board from scratch and solder all the pieces into place and quite another to understand WHY it works.

This is the only book I know of that gives such a thorough discussion on the state of the art in sigma delta modulation, including design tips and insight into the authors' own experiences.A necessity for anyoneconsidering the design of a high-order modulator. Riddled with errors
This book definately need an editor. Many of the examples,even the basic examples are riddled with errors. It is an ok read but don't expect to be a novice after reading this book.

followup on prior review
the book introduces the methodology to analog behavioral modeling - starting with basics andthen introducing complex examples (in the biggest chapter).the examples include an opamp and characterization of it.maybethe other reviewer did not get that far.a valid drawback is that the mostrecent specification for Verilog-A/Verilog-AMS has changed sincepublication (most constructs are still valid though).

It provides little information about Verilog-A
This book is the only one that I can find in the bookshelf discuss Verilog-A language. I expect it can provide some examples to model a real world analog circuit using Verilog-A language, but I am disappointedbecause this book provides only simple description about resistors,capacitors, etc. You can't even find how to model an opamp in this book. ... If you use A/D chips and need a reference this is it
This book is not a textbook in the traditional college text mode, but can take a practicing engineer through the basics of A/D to a particular application. I have it on my shelf and when I need to know a particular issue about A/D performance and what engineering tradeoffs are involved in a particular design, this is the starting point.It naturally is heavy on Analog Devices chips and solutions, but it gives the astute engineer insight into the utility of the various metrics in a given chip's data sheet.It also can give clues into what metrics can be misleading depending on how their tests are setup (This is probably more critical). This is the best book I came across under 500 pages
I loved the way this book is organized and layed out. The diagrams are easy to read and follow. The slant of the book focuses on the communication aspects of electronics starting off with a definition of communications and explaining and surprisingly clear detail the definitions you will come across. A good refresher chapter covers Ohm's Law, transistor and FETs configurations and a real good section on couplings and their effects on the signal. Diagrams of the spectum analyzer's screen is used to explain modulation with out getting technical. All the math is basic algebra with no calculus in sight. There's a page in chapter 4 that helps you in designing common emitter amplifiers. AM, FM, sideband is covered including standing wave ratio and antenna theory. I wish I had this book when I was learning radio communications in the military. It's only 200 pages but the information provided is enough to get the beginning student up to speed quickly. The author doen't go much into TV but he does cover various line connections from waveguides to coaxial cables. From here you can easily move on to an ARRL Radio book. I love this book!!! ... The classic text for this kind of circuitry.
Assuming you know something about CMOS and VLSI design, this is the classic text to cover the broad base to get started in understanding how one goes about designing actual hardware for various neural network architectures.Both analog and digital approaches are discussed, and the circuits are clearly explained with lots of schematics and plenty of derivative mathematics that show why a particular approach has utility for a given problem.There are a lot of new books (Mead has a new one out) but they owe a large debt to this book. ...
