Special Edition Using Office Microsoft FrontPage 2003
This is a great book for starts with MS FrontPage.A great way to get started with HTML.

I know my way around front page. I bought this book so that I could learn more. I found that it offered me nothing but hundreds of pages of text that really did nothing for someone like me who wanted to create a visully stimulating website.
Great addition, but not for beginners.

Excellent intermediate level book
This is one of those books that don't really contain anything new. What they do instead is present things in a way that as you read it you tend to say 'Of course, that's the way I can do that.'

Good work for hte new exams.
Microsoft's release of the MCDST Certification has you taking 2 exams, 70-271 and 70-272.What you need is something to use as a final study tool and this set is just the right answer. What you have here is a fairly complete breakdown of the exam objective condensed for easy reading.

Good for getting new users up to speed
We're slowly starting to deploy Office 2003 across out network and this book has been a pretty good general all-in-one type of resource for answering the vast majority of the questions that the users has posed.As well, we've been able to generate several traning sessions based on the content of the book itself using our customized screen shots. This book has a good overview on all the office programs. If you are looking for in depth information on a certain aspect of office I would look elsewhere. I will be buying the Access book because I need in depth information about about Access and this book does not get that deep. I would still recommend this book to anyone because it is much easier to read than the help included with Office. ... Read more

Still good - years later
I write this review partially evaluating the information it contains, but also how it has held up over time.This book came out in late 2003 and it is now early 2006.A successor to Windows XP is already known, but that doesn't mean that Windows XP is on the way out or that companies will not just now be deploying that OS either for the first time, or redeploying as a refresh to encompass service packs, hotfixes and larger updated application suites, such as Microsoft Office.In short, a competent title covering the deployment of XP is still needed.
The right tool for Desktop Deployment
If you are planning a massive desktop deployment than this is book you should use. I had no previous experience in doing an unattended install and this book walked me through the entire process following the distribution sample provided in Chapter 7.Mr. Honeycutt has left no stone unturned.His book gives you in-depth technical information and tools to deploy and manage Microsoft Windows XP Desktop. With it, you get prescriptive guidance to help choose the best deployment method and tools for common scenarios; perform attended and unattended installations; automate the deployment process, control policy and profile settings for desktop operating systems and applications; automate deployments for Office and other programs; and more. The book comes with a CDROM containing extra documentation, tools, sample templates, and scripts. Almost teaches you what you need to know.
I bought this book mostly to learn how to customize Contact forms.This book gives you about half the info you need.Then you hit a brick wall.I spent hours searching newsgroups and web sites to fill in the other half.There are a few simple things the author could have added so the book was actually valuable instead of incredibly frustrating.For example, the book shows you how to customize a form.Great.But then the book neglects to tell you how to apply that form to existing Contacts. ... Do not use!
It is full of errors. The explanations are difficult to follow. There are few highlights in the text which makes scanning for a quick review impossible.There is no chapter summary. The book presumes a thourough knowledge of Excel which many students do not have. Stay away!

Not as described
Previous reviews inspired me for the purchase. This book is NOT MBA material. I would rate it at Business 101 book. Most spreadsheet models are basically the same using the SOLVER function in excel. There are better tutorials online.

Management Science made understandable
By incorporating Microsoft Excel spreadsheet examples of the problems, the authors have managed to make self-study management science possible. I'm absolutely convinced this is the best way to learn MS.

Shelly Cashman series outdoes itself!
I had been using the Excel 2002 version of this book since last June...but when I recently upgraded to Office 2003, I wanted to upgrade to this version of book right away. I am not disappointed either. Within this book there are features such as Other Ways of doing things, such as opening Excel; other sidebar studies; more features to work with; more online materials, including links to Microsoft's free online courses. In this way...you can study only what was covered in the project. I really like the step by step pictures so I can make sure that I am doing everything right. Highly recommended! Just when I thought the Excel 2002 version was a great buy...along came Excel 2003! Good luck finding anything else comparable! Doesn't Walk the Talk
Let me first say that I'm a dBase programmer and a relative novice to Visual Foxpro.Even still, though I've loaded the software version of this book onto my computer and consulting it many times, I still haven't found a useful tip that justified the $40 I paid for it.

Great book for beginners
I understand a lot about project management, but being a developer I had never learned to really use MS Project. I picked up this book and followed it from beginning to end, using the accompanying CD-ROM. I learned more about Project in the few hours it took to go through the book than I thought I would. All you need for a good start
First of all, this book is for beginners to MS Project. You can read this book chapter by chapter, or you can pick chapters to study since there is no referencing for past chapters or following chapters. Teach yourself!

Blows Away All Other Intro Texts
I am only half finished with this book, but since there is only one other review, I want to get my thoughts up NOW.I may add to them when I have finished.
Interactive Guide to UNDERSTANDING econometrics
When I was a new graduate student I ended up buying several different econometrics texts. No one text had the best explanation for each topic. The problem remained that for many topics I never did find a book which translated the formal mathematical presentation into a practical worked out example, so that I could understand the procedure and how to implement it.

Do you have scientific or engineering calculations to perform? If you do, then this book is for you! Author David M Bourg, has done an outstanding job of writing a book that shows you how to leverage Excel as a capable computing tool to solve a variety of both routine and complex problems.
Excellent all-purpose collection of analytical recipes
Bourg's book is an excellent collection of analytical recipes suitable for undergraduates, graduate and postdocs in all scientific disciplines. Engineers will find good treatment of important topics such as optimization and numerical integration. Statistical anlysis is also covered, although no theoritical background is provided, and in this format, none should be expected, as the author indicates. An excellent and useful book.

EXPLORING MICROSOFT OFFICE 2003 VOLUME 1 is a textbook that is basically an extended handbook on Microsoft Office. The book has what I would consider six major sections: basics of Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the Internet and the world wide web, and some essential computing concepts. The sections dealing with Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint contain all kinds of helpful hands-on exercises. The Internet and essential computing concepts sections don't have quite as many exercises and contain a little more book rather than hands-on knowledge.
