I quite enjoyed the stories told in "Lucky That Way."
Brad Fregger is a great storyteller - like the bards of old. I enjoyed reading his tales, both the uplifting and the troubled ones. What makes this book even better is that the stories are true! Thank you for bringingus these tales, Mr. Fregger.

Inspiring stories about getting the most out of life
"Lucky That Way" is a great story about learning how to take advantage of opportunities you normally might miss in life.Brad uses stories to share his philosphy of life with the reader- serendipity andsyncronicity.He also shares with the reader that it is important that youactively seek out these opportunities or they will pass you by.Inaddition, you learn a little about how some of the most popular computergames of all time were created. Interesting but ultimately shallow take on the game industry
On the face of it, it would appear Brad Fregger has good qualifications to write a book of this type. Starting with Atari in the early 1980s, he was involved with the games industry for almost two decades.Read more

simply amazing!
As an editor of a writing ezine, I tend to surf the net checking out other writing ezines out of curiosity, more than anything else.I am in awe of all the writing ezines out there in cyberland, but one particular website, Word Thunder, impressed me over the other the others.I had come to know the editor, Sarah Mankowski, through an online writing group and had emailed her a few times asking her questions and generally admiring what she has done for writers.It wasn't until I read her book, LIBERATION, when I found out this woman who had managed to run one of the best writing ezines around, plus find time to answer the questions from this particular writing group and helping so many people, is legally blind.

Where the golden apples grow.
This book's relevance as a marketing manual was probably more significant 15 years ago when it was published, but from a historical perspective, it's still quite an interesting story of a journey to greatness. It's far better penned than other books I've read on the era.

Gerstner glosses over the story
I was disappointed in the book because I felt that Gerstner was more concerned about the political correctness of his book and complimenting himself, rather than telling the whole story. Gerstner seems more than willing to describe all of the tough, and in his mind, the correct decisions he had to make during his tenure at IBM.He fails to shed much light on the fact that IBM was unable to compete in the major tecnology areas (other than the maniframe) during his tenure.Disk Drives, sold to Hitachi, PC Desktops - declared Dell the winner, Microsoft/Intel - never competed, Networking - Cisco is the winner, application software - lost to SAP, Peoplesoft, CA, etc., UNIX Servers - 3rd place finish behind SUN and HP.He only focuses on one area - services/outsourcing - where IBM was successful during his tenure.I believe that IBM could be an even stronger company today had Gerstner been able to win on more fronts.I would love to read a book about the real IBM and what really went on behind the scenes.
