Good, but not perfect training guide for the CCSA exam
The CCSA study guide is a good, but not perfect training guide for the CCSA exam. Not enough for examination
It is a good book for beginners. However, the part of NAT is not easy to read. The steps are not shown in details. If the author can show a real example from the installation, create a firwall object to antispoofing like Microsoft Press. I think it will become a bible of checkpoint firewall. Not a bad book, could be better, good ref. - many errors
I noticed the other comments on this book and wonder, what sections are missing from this book?I am getting ready to take the exam and want first pass results. Read more

No cover for Feature Pack4
Just failed the exam due to this book.As per other reviews the book does not cover Application Inteligence or Smart Defense which have been added to the new Checkpoint CCSA exam.The other topics are covered very well but despite scoring over 80% on the other topics my 8% I scraped on Smart Defense was not enough to get me a pass.If they bring out a book that covers the 156-210.4 exam I would highly recommend it (unless Checkpoint have brought out feature pack 5!!).

DO NOT BUY IF YOU PLAN TO GET CERTIFIED!
I just wasted $150 on the exam. The test contains many questions about Application Intelligence and SmartDefense. Two topics that not covered in this book. I should have read these reviews before buying.

Some good info
I've been working with Checkpoint Firewall-1 for 5 years now, so I picked up this book as a review when I was told to get my CCSA and CCSE by my employer. I have not taken the exam yet, so I don't know how well it prepares one for the exam, but I do know that I consider my knowledge of FW-1 to be deeper than most, yet I still learned some new tricks from this book. Will teach you all you need for the CCSA, and then some!
Excellent material for someone who cannot attend the high priced Check Point training, but must maintain or install CP Firewalls. You will learn all you need to know about Check Point and their Firewall and VPN products to successfully manage those devices. A must read!

Good book but no enough
This is a great book, but not enough for the test unless you have significant experience with FW-1.

Good Study Resource
The author presents the material well. Covers all the relevant information for the CCSA. The book was not a difficult read and very understandable. It would help if the reader has some networking knowledge and has worked with Firewall-1 previously. Some of the things readers should know are NAT, IP Routing (understanding IP Addressing), Basic Firewall concepts (what a Firewall does, etc), and some computer skills with NT 4.0 or Unix.Read more
