A perfect online reference book and an easy read.
While reading Dees' book, I began to feel like Humphrey Bogart in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre:"Everything's clear now."For those of us "tweens" who were born in the era of the manual typewriter and have learned to speak "computer," but with a severe accent, this book in invaluable.For years, we've had to listen to the computer pros talking about POPs, DIMMs, ISDNs, ITPs, and FTPs and all we could do is nod our heads in understanding.Dees takes these concepts, and many others, and puts them in a form that is clear, concise and understandable. You can't beat having a strong presence online, if you are a self-employed contracts kind of lawyer.This book helped me drum up decent business.Glad I got it.I only wish it came with more online examples.

Started slow, got better; dated
The title of the review about sums everything up.It started off very slow and boring and I almost put it down.I was sick, however, and struggled on.The book gets a lot better in later chapters, but since it references the beginning a lot, you have to struggle through the beginning.There's some really good quotes in the last chapter.The use of traditionally offensive issues like online kiddie porn and violent "erotica" to illustrate the issues (in the beginning) was a decent attempt to shock the reader into re-examining digital law from other perspectives, but may backfire or upset some.
Wordy, rambling, hard to follow
I own but have not read Sex Laws and Cyberspace in its entirety.This is because the book is poorly written and hard to read. New age Internet safe for our children?
