Probably the first Internet Law treatise
Providing a treatise on Internet and Online Law is not easy. It is almost impossible. The range of topics to deal with includes all the main substantial law subjects and intersects with various elements ofInternational Law and Jurisdiction just to name a few. This book does itegregiously. I used it for research: the only limit is that focuses mainlyon U.S. Law (despite other countries are coming up with interestingsolutions and answers). As far as the rest is concerned, it is allpositive: updated, wide range of case law fully explained, easy to read(with at least a basic understanding of the law and the internet jargon).It also providespractical examples and solutions for those who areengaged or wish to engage in the Internet Business. A personal tale from the Digital Freedom Front
I started off a review of a Bruce Sterling novel with a statement of full disclosure, so I must do the same here--even more so. Mike is a long-time friend from when I lived in Austin, Texas. He knew me, as they say, when. After my disastrous first year at the University of Texas, he helped me identify the classes to take that would awaken my interest (including Shakespeare at Winedale). Mike grilled me on my reading critically, forcing me to be able to talk about books on a level besides enjoyment. He was also the organizer of the Dull Men's Club, a regular meeting group for argument and drinking that often became similar to the Austin BBS Users Reading Group. Most comprehensive, user-friendly, best advise available
Filing Patents Online is a condensation of many diversified methods, software and applications to write and send applications to patent offices worldwide. Obviously the author had a lot of real-life experience to include the handy tips that can frustrate even experienced users. In addtion, the book has a remarkable chapter on how to search for patentable ideas using Internet; the resources recommended are very useful. The brief survey of the US Patent laws is also helpful for both patent attorneys as well as inventors. I would highly recommend this book to patent attorneys who may be shy to indulge in Internet-based filing of patents and most strongly to inventors who may want to cut the entire cost of an attorney (though there are some risks involved) and file patents on their own. ...
