2-0 out of 5 stars Buy Gottinger's book instead
This is a very interesting book that covers the full range of network industries - and is in many ways a welcome addition to the literature.4-0 out of 5 stars Network economics in one solid and compact book
This is an original academic textbook for network economics. Oz Shy starts the book by making some reasonable claims on his discipline at large: scientific papers in economics are too technical and use unnecessary amounts of calculus. Though the book is very analytical and covers a wide scope of issues, prerequisites are at a considerably low level. Because the book uses game theory and logical reasoning instead of calculus, it is accessible to readers with different backgrounds. This book will be in good use at least with the students of economics and engineering.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Introduction to XForms
This book in an excellent review of the XForms standard. It is part tutorial and part reference book.It starts with about 50 pages of background material (XPath, XML Schema, XML, namespaces etc) and then starts with a conceptual overview with some examples. It then takes us through all the major XForms concepts and elements.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good blend of conceptual and reference material...
XForms is one of those technologies that hasn't yet taken off, but could make a substantial impact if it ever does.I got a copy of XForms - XML Powered Web Forms by T. V. Raman in order to understand a bit more about the subject...
5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book to learn XForms
Easy reading and a good explanation of XForms concepts. The book is about 230 pages with a CD.The XForms concepts are very well compressed into these pages, making it easy reading, yet less intimidating.I was able to read most of the book in the car when we went on a trip to Maine. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars RBAC Jack - Caveat Emptor!
I purchased the digital version of this book for which I totally regret.First, the book is bloated and really offers little more than can be viewed free on NIST's Website.Second, the Adobe DRM (Digital Rights Manager) reader won't let you make a backup copy and Amazon (i.e., their Indian Customer "Service" Reps anyway) don't understand either U.S. fair use Copyright laws or customer service. Thus not only wouldn't I buy this book...I won't ever buy another product from Amazon ever again.
5-0 out of 5 stars Most complete RBAC reference
The three authors are leaders in RBAC research and development, making this book one of the most authoritative and complete references to RBAC.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Its What You Need. Seriously!
I have been a Web Design and Developer since 1998. I picked up this book in 2002 because I wanted to learn how to create an online database program and a e-commerce store. I picked it up at my local book store and found that it was very easy to read.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great book!
Very useful book with great code samples.Defiantly buy this book if you are looking to do some e-commerce programming with ASP 3.0.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mining the Web
I found this book to be most helpful and thorough, I was immediately inspired to practice these useful tips and easy to intuit instructions. 5-0 out of 5 stars Cutting Through the Hype
We're just starting to look at mining the clickstream, and this is the first book I've found that cuts through the hype and really comes clean on what works and doesn't work.Good, solid techincal information, but better is their coverage of business issues.I love all of the detailed cases.Greatjob!

5-0 out of 5 stars Another winner from a great team
I own Berry and Linoff's first two books on data mining (Data Mining Techniques and Mastering Data Mining); they're the best, and this book lives up to their standards. All three are great for not just teaching the technical stuff, but how and when to apply it to solve problems I really face at my company. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Good for the beginner
If you are trying to decide or have made that big decision to start an eBay business, check out this title. It's not wordy but gives good guidance. As well as the usual Table of Contents and Index (which are well done), there is an initial page that gives you Contents at a Glance. This is a nice and unusual touch that keeps you from any unnecessary searches because the Table of Contents is lengthy. Also, contained in the Introduction are adequate and easy to understand instructions on use.Be sure to read this before jumping ahead and you will be very pleased with your purchase. You will become an A++ seller.

4-0 out of 5 stars AS ADVERTISED
VERY EASY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND, WOULD RECOMMEND FOR THOSE JUST STARTING OUT ON EBAY.

1-0 out of 5 stars Defectuve Book

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Price, Text Rich, Poor Diagrams, Great Classifications!
This book can be divided into 3 main parts. The first 4 chapters essentially put forward the case for e-procurement with an opening chapter containing some 33 references alone!4-0 out of 5 stars Good Book On Fundamentals
eProcurement is an excellent book for the basic fundamentals ofof eprocurement (eprocurement 101). We are the authors of a more advanced version for purchasing professionals already using some form of epurchasing. Our book is titled ePurchasingPlus and has input from over 30 experts and practitioners from US, UK & Canada that use ePurchasingPlus products and concepts. We recommend both books for the purchasing professional to find about the future of our profession.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book
Mr. Neef did an excellent job with this book. It is not a down and dirty technical book that describes the inner workings of an e-procurement system. Then again, I think that is why I like it so much. After reading this book I feel I know the business behind e-procurement and that is THE most important issue when it comes to any system. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent guide!
This book is a gold mine of information, from design tips to marketing strategies. And Dillehay refers to tons of free software that you can use, so it doesn't have to cost you a fortune to get your business going.I will consult this book again and again as I'm building my business.

5-0 out of 5 stars from Lapidary Journal
"This book has an astonishing amount of usable information, crammed into so few pages! James Dillehay has an amazing talent for getting right to the point, with a minimum of "geekese." . . . The book seems to cover all the basics in a systematic way. It makes the intimidating prospect of even thinking about setting up a Web site a lot easier to approach. Of the entire list of computer instructional manuals I have read, this one would top the list. I would not hesitate to recommend it . . . even to my mom." ~ Lapidary Journal

5-0 out of 5 stars Multiple Streams of Internet Income-Great Read!
Mr. Allen does it again! He share's a step-by-step plans for earning an income thru the Internet based on the solid principles of marketing I and my parnters have used for our site www.selfdefenseeducation.com
1-0 out of 5 stars Boycott Robert G. Allen!!!
Robert G. Allen is a notorious and relentless internet spammer. If you should happen to somehow end up on one of his email lists like I did, he will send you several junk emails a day.Unsubscribing doesn't work, and trying to block the sender's domain is useless because the emails are sent from a different domain every time. The funny part is that the emails aren't even coded properly. They always show up as just a bunch of html code.Would you really take internet money-making advice from a guy who can't even code html properly?Anyway, his spamming practices are completely illegal and it's only a matter of time before the law catches up with him.But that shouldn't come as any surprise considering that mister Allen has been in trouble with the law before. He's had several run-ins with the IRS, lawsuits against him, and a chapter 7 bankruptcy.I would also stay away from his Nothing Down real estate methods. Many of those practices are illegal, and the president of the Nothing Down club in Atlanta wound up in federal prison because of it.For more info on Allen, visit johntreed dottcomm, click on Real Estate Investing, then click Real Estate Guru Ratings.Bottom line, don't trust this guy and don't buy his books. And if you're reading this Mr. Allen, take me off your @%#&*$ mailing list!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Brainstorming ideas anyone can use to build their internet business

5-0 out of 5 stars Very relevant for anyone designing WebServices
Component modeling, analysis of information exchanges, and
4-0 out of 5 stars explains well SOA, Web Services and semantics
The book is a refreshingly understandable approach to explaining Service Oriented Architecture, Web Services and the Semantic Web. Other texts often drown the reader in hugely verbose XML examples. But here, the authors achieve clarity in discussing the essence of the above concepts. The XML snippets are clear, without being overly long.
5-0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive and Practical
Document Engineering is a practical exploration of the role documents play in the nexus of contracts that drive modern businesses. The interdisciplinary approach put forward here, taking document engineering out of the realm of pure software engineering, is eye opening and provides some real insight into what it takes to make Service Oriented Architectures work in the real world. This is an absolute must read book for anyone seriously considering developing an XML based document integration strategy. ... This book is best suited for IT managers whose jobs have removed them from the details of technology, and project managers who have high level technical backgrounds, but are given e-business projects to manager. As such, don't expect to find in-depth details or revelations that would primarily interest the technical specialists who design and implement e-business solutions. If you are among the primary audience, however, this book will get you quickly up-to-speed on the key issues of every facet of the technologies and the challenges of integrating and implementing them to achieve an e-business solution.Read more

Mansfield furnishes an unabashed pitch for setting up a store on eBay. Many details are given about how you can go about advertisting your items. Indeed, given that you have made a decision to do so, the book can be very useful. eBay has built up its website tremendously, and there are many small details to be dealt with.

2-0 out of 5 stars Book cover torn apart
The book was probably "good as new" as they claimed until it was violently shoved into the package. The cover was almost torn apart, barely in one piece.

2-0 out of 5 stars A tad bit disappointing
I bought this book being completely convinced that it was a complete reference on the basic XML technologies along with an introduction to XML, XML's history and development and so on. It shows up to my disappointment, that the book is largely influenced by a number of corporations using XML to make money, and is therefore *not* focussed very much on the actual technologies.
5-0 out of 5 stars The One source you need to answer any question about XML
It took Charles Goldfarb, Paul Prescod and many others, sixty-seven chapters to explain all there is to know about XML and XML related technology. This book must be the most complete reference book when it comes to XML: any thing from history of XML in Chapter 1 to VoiceXML in Chapter 46 and everything in between. This book is filled, and each chapter is appropriately marked with, Introductory Discussions, Application Discussions, Tool Discussions, Case Studies and Friendly Tutorials.
