5-0 out of 5 stars Hillariously funny view of the Millenium Bug!!
Messrs Kendall and Arbogast approach to the Y2K issue is right on the money. The pictures and ancedotal commentary are hillarious.A great gift for those who are stocking up food and water for their New Years Eveparty!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars what a great idea!!!
if you ever saw "separated at birth," and liked it, you'll like this. Each page has two pictures: one side is of something from everyday pre-Y2K life, like a copier. The other side is another picture depictingWHY everything will be cool in 2K...like a monk making copies on a stonetablet.4-0 out of 5 stars very funny book
a lot of pictures that shows all the things that could break down (pcs, backbones, hard drives, your blender) and then shows reasons why all of us will survive.Sort of a "life WILL go on" book in pics. Actually a pretty funny read (quick). ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Refreshing, humorous, easy to read, enlightening
Finally! A refreshing, honest look at the hysteria! Stan and Bruce are practical and downright funny - they have researched the issue well and present what I believe is fundamentally one of the best books on thesubject in the marketplace today. A little preachy at the end but stilloffers hope to anyone searching for answers. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Wit of Cyber Yenta
Written in a unique voice that combines gentle oberservational humor with a keenly sharp wit and knowing eye, Ms. Levine has created a wonderful character and hilarious book.Tackling today's technology with warmth and wisdom, "Cyber Yenta" shares herfunny and touching views and opinions on just about everything--and it all rings so very true. Torn between nodding my head in agreement and laughing hysterically, I easilyimagined having "CyberYenta" in the kitchen for tea and wished for more of her common-sense guidance and pointers. 5-0 out of 5 stars I laughed out loud
Funny, knowing, down to earth, and out in space, CyberYenta's Old Fashioned Wisdon for New Fangled Times really hit thespot with me. She talks like my grandmother did, with the wierd combination of common sense and quirky point of view that grandmothers - of most any ethnicity - have.Read more

"It's embarrassing when you can't even find a charity that will take your old computer as a donation."5-0 out of 5 stars Computer Humor at it's Best

5-0 out of 5 stars Takes the sting out of coping with computers when you're old
We're a couple of seniors dragged kicking and spamming into the Computer Age.This book, Byte Me, helps to express the rage and confusion we have experienced, and produced great hiccuping gulps of laughter in between.Give it to all the computer friends you know

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the funniest books I've ever read.
Byte Me! disproves the theory that computers and comedy don't go together. Just to be able to laugh at something I generally find so frustrating was a great relief--now I no longer have to take it out on random pedestrians. Robert Libbon is a very clever writer, who manages to convey real information while making you laugh. I look forward to his next work

5-0 out of 5 stars A very funny book mocking the computer industry as a whole.
The first time I saw the book Byte Me! I thought it was another one of those 'For Dummies...' titles that helps newbies learn whatever subject they need in complete layman's terms. Not until I picked up the book to peruse the inside contents did I find out what a very funny book it was.Byte me is one of those rare humor books that manages to walk that fine line of good humor and being totally biting sarcasm that pervades most other humor writers of this genre. The author, Robert P. Lippon somehow manages to put in enough factual information with the humor in such a way that almost anyone who has dealt with a computer and it's problems can understand.Reading through most of the book, I saw a lot of things that he wrote that seems to be ironically true about the computer industry when you think about it, stuff like how some tech support lines manage to never answer your call until you finally decide to hang up.Overall this book is a very high reccomendation for anyone who has had to deal with the ups and downs that come with computers or has yet to.Plus if you're looking for a holiday gift or something that will be enjoyed by almost anyone for a special occasion it's almost certain that they'll enjoy this book. For me, this book is just the perfect read while waiting for that tech support guy at IBM to answer my call ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very funny; not just for computer people.
This book is a real find.It is in some ways a version of "urban legends", those funny/amazing stories that everyone swears are true, that it happened to a friend (or a friend of a friend), or that they heardabout it from some other reliable source. The thing is, The DevouringFungus has both real and legend-type stories.Besides the storiesthemselves -- certainly things you'll want to send along to friends andfamilies -- the author weaves a nice narrative.

3-0 out of 5 stars Amusing book on computer "folktales."
A book about the folktales and legends of the computer world. Interesting for the various anecdotes and the clearly written history of the beginnings of computers and the society surrounding them.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Emails can actually be WORTH reading??
Ok, so everyone deals with email daily for whatever reason...and most people I know do admitt they are helpful, they can also be ridiculous sometimes right? So meet Scott Neumann. This book is a composite of responses that "Scott Neumann" wrote to people on many different hilarious topics just to get a response and boy, did he ever! I can't believe people actually spent time on their computer giving "Scott Neumann" a serious reply. Lane Strauss is creative in where he sent our these emails and decided to publish them for our laughter. This book will make you smile and wonder what people are thinking when they log onto their emails and click on "reply". Definitely a book for the information highway. ... Read more
