A waste of time
I found this book really wordy and boring, it put me to sleep. The whole idea of learning AIS from a textbook is just like trying to learn to use computer without a computer! The whole AIS operation circle isn't hard to comprehend, but learning it from hundred of pages of literature is a dumb idea. On top of that, I don't think I have to learn the definition of E-Business and its difference from Internet(is there a e-business operated without internet?!).

I work as an accountant and was looking for a book to brush up on AIS.I don't have any other books, except my university text, to compare this to but this book has done an excellent job bringing me up to speed on the current AIS function.This field is rapidly changing and its important for practioners to keep on top of this area of study.I was not disappointed.In my opinion, this book can make this everchanging field very comprehensible to practioners at any level.

Good Introduction to Business Law
This was the textbook for an introductory course in business law I took. It does a great job at laying the groundwork of the US legal system and explodes many common myths. A large amount of material is covered clearly and consisely. The chapters on contracts and constitutional law alone are worth the price of the book. The authors do a good job hitting the high points and not getting bogged down in details that are inappropriate for an introductory course.
Legal & Regulatory Environment of Business
Great Book. Better than the other Legal Business books. Great cases. Easy to read and understand. Great for Business law. Other books are more about law instead of business law, Not this book. You be the Judge DVD-Rom is great similation of legal business situations. Book is great for learning Business Law.

Informative, enlightening, and well-organized.
Like many Americans, I didn't know much about our country's principles of government or its legal system.This book helped me to become more knowledgeable about both.I admit, this is not reading I would choose to curl up with in front of the fire; this was part of a requirement for my MBA.However, I will remember what I've learned in this text long after my class ends. Having previously been clueless about the legal system, it is now exhilarating to read about, say, how the nine US Supreme Court Justices are dealing with the aftermath of the Gore vs. Bush debacle and actually understand what is going on.The chapters are well-organized and easy to understand. There are even helpful study tips and ways to brief a legal case in the beginning of the text.After completing this book, I not only feel better equipped to handle business decisions, but also feel empowered and enlightened for better understanding our great country. ... I've known and worked with Clark Quinn for several years. He's written a very good book. Like the e-learning it advocates, Engaging Learning is fun, accessible and, well, engaging. Working from a solid theoretical framework, Clark explains why learning should be "hard fun" and then shows how to create that kind of e-learning. He includes several detailed case studies. As someone who develops e-learning for a living, I appreciated his pragmatic approach and acknowledgement that e-learning can be developed at different levels of engagement, depending on budget, schedule, quality of source material, etc.

its like getting $2000 training in the form of a book.
This book is a bit dry in places, BUT the content more than makes up for it.
Discouraging
I was disappointed in the contents of the book.Although some of the information was helpful, each chapter ended with how difficult it was to be an independent IT Consultant.Also, the book is written from a UK perspective and does not focus on many aspects that are specific to the US, including new legislation (SOX) or sub-contracting.

Over-rated
This is a good book - but by no means a classic. It is perfect for its target market - geeks who don't know about business and business value and just want to read a summary of information available from more authoritive sources.Read more

too fast pace, unsufficient details
This book does not offer you the info to start with Mambo/Joomla without help. It simply lacks the depth for it. I bought the book, and followed the examples, that's all i can do now. The examples are simple, but for a joomla starter hardley explained. Wat cracks me is that there's not any explanatio about the structure of Joomla, the relations between objects and their calls.

This book is a very good and complete tutorial on advanced uses of the Mambo CMS and associated components.
