Microsoft Money 2004 for Dummies by Peter Weverka
I have been using Microsoft Money to manage my finances and portfolio since 1999. I thought I knew how to use it until I began reading this book. Mr. Weverka has shown me how little I really new about the capabilities and ease of use of this excellent program. It is written so that ordinary people such as myself can easily understand it, with touches of humor to lighten the tedium. Thank you, Peter Weverka!

Serious Momentum with Microsoft
I had the privilege in attending a "Partnering with Microsoft" presentation and I am reading Ted Dinsmore's book now. Since the meeting with Ted Dinsmore, our organization is adopting many of the techniques revealed in his book and our corporation now has serious momentum with Microsoft. I highly recommend reading the book, and if the opportunity arises to meet Ted, don't miss it.

Good starter book and reference guide Keeps you on track and

As can be found in the ...for Dummies series...Lots of help and easy to find the answer to your problem. I had one specific question and found the answer right away. Now I have the book to find any other problem solver when needed.

Valuable Time-Saving Guide
If you own "Money 2005 for Dummies", you don't need "Money 2006 for Dummies", because the editorial content appears to be virtually identical in the two books.However, this manual is a real time-saver if you're trying to learn to navigate the powerful Microsoft Money program.

Version Coverage
I think John Simpson should have looked at the front cover of this book before posting his negative review.The front cover clearly states that the book covers only the Standard and Deluxe version of the software.There's no claim that it covers the Small Biz version.

No help for Home and Biz
I thought this book would have info for ALL versions of MS Money 2003. Not.No mention of any of the biz version at all.

MS Money 2005 Deluxe: The Missing Manual
Either you can bumble around trying to locate MS Money 2005 Deluxe features via complex pulldown menus or online help, or you can buy this book and learn quickly and easily how to navigate and understand the entire program.
NOT for Business Money 2005
I bought this book to go with the Business version of Money 2005. When I opened up the package from Amazon, I was disappointed to find that this book does not cover Business Money. Now, I've got to go through the hassle of packaging it back up for a refund. Thought I'd spare you the same experience.

Weak
One star may be a bit harsh, but books like this should be fairly easy to put together and this one just doesn't work.The Q&A format is all wrong because there is no way that the author can anticipate half of a reader's questions.And the format also makes it tougher to use as a reference because the book does not systematically go through the software.Some things get glossed over and anyone looking for detailed help will be disappointed.Even though I have Money 2001 software, I preferred to use the MS Money 2000 for Dummies book because it's far better organized.And the software revisions don't change much from year to year, so the book was still highly valid.

Please do NOT buy this book
I bought this book because I was having trouble figuring out certain things that can be done with MSN Money 2001. I would have returned it but I bought it and didn't read for 4 months, when I finally read it I was truly disapointed. This book does not tell you anything but the pure basics, it is not a reference book, it is a how to balance your checkbook book. Please before you buy this item or any by this company, I would suggest getting something else.

Good Job
I have Money 2001, but this book still applies very well.I have been pleased with most of the Dummies books and this one is no different.It covers everything I was curious about and helped me to fill some gaps in my understanding of the software.The chapters are well organized, which makes it easy to find answers to specific questions and a good bookshelf reference.Considering there's little else currently out there for MS Money, this book is it.

Outstanding practical guide!
I've checked out other books on Microsoft Money, but this is the best I've found for answering the real questions that actually come up when you're using the program. Excellent step-by-step instructions on everything fromthe simplest to the most complex Money features!

Big Disappointment
This is the 1st "Dummies" book I've found disappointing.The early chapters are fine, but as the topics become more complex, the book becomes no more than a guide for filling in software fields.There's verylittle expert advice on how to actually use the software to reflect andmanage real-life financial transactions and situations.Read more

What is Microsoft Certification, Anyway? Find Out!
As a person seeking a new career, I found this book to answer my most basic questions about IT (and I have to admit that my questions were pretty basic). The author details the distinctions among the types of Microsoft Certification and describes the types of certification exams (without--and this is important!--being a study guide for them). As to format, chapters end with summaries of the key ideas presented. Also, the book includes short interviews with people who work in the field. Much of the information is presented in easily digestable bullets and paragraph-long sections, so it can be absorbed by people who are reading the material after a long day at their present job. Although I ultimately decided that Microsoft Certification is not for me, this was the book that gave me the tools to make that decision.

Surprisingly good overview of MS Certifications
A surprisingly informative update of the author's rather dismal "MCSE Career Microsoft!".More specific information has been added regarding the proliferating MS certification tracks (MCSE, MCDBA, MCP+I,etc.)The presentation is a little rosy (at least not blatant MSpropaganda), but provides a decent, well organized overview of thecertification process, what you can do with a certification, and some goodrecommendations for further resources.(Of course it does not reflect theSeptember 1999 reorganization of the MCSE track for Windows 2000, and theannounced retirement of the NT 4 track on 12/31/2000.)It's a goodstarting point for someone not familiar with IT certification in general orMS certification in particular, or weighing the option of starting on acertification, but it won't be nearly as useful to most persons futher onin the process. ... BETTER FOR US RESIDENTS
The language is simple and straightforward, however there is one warning here. The examples and version presented is only dedicated to the US public. An easy helper to get started with Money 98
This book is simple to navigate, with logically organized chapters and tasks.It has LOTS of screen captures, and is very easy to follow.If you are looking for a "Power User's" guide, this isn't it, but it's the closest thing available.

This book is very basic.
This book is geared toward someone who has not spent any time navigating around Money prior to reading.For that person, it may have some value as a quick introduction to the software.Then again, you get that from thehelp screens in the software, so I don't see what this book offers.I haveused Money a bit (not a lot), and was looking for something moreintermediate level, which this book is definitely not.Read more

Does not work for Business very well
I searched for books for Microsoft Money 99 Personal and Business and got this one which is not good for Business.I was looking for help in doing invoices as in the above program and this book/program does on do invoices.Returned book.

A good book for beginners
This is a good book if you haven't had a lot of experience with Microsoft money.It covers the basics of Money and gives good examples of how the features work.For more advanced users a more in-depth book would be abetter choice.Read more
