Well worth the price
I studied for the exam using this book and practice exams available from another vendor. Without a doubt, this book gave me the insight to pass the exams.
It is recommended
not bad and is recommended. The pratical test software attached helps me to review important issue for study.

Well-worth the price
If you want to find out what will be on the exams and learn to pass the exams, this is definitely the book for you. They basically took the list of topics from Lotus' own exam guide and fleshed it out (from Lotus' page or two to hundreds of pages). Now, it won't teach you everything, but it teaches you a lot. When the reading is coupled with taking the practice exams, you find out what areas you really need to learn more. For example, you'll read in here about profiles, but in order to understand them in a way that would prepare me for the exam, I had to read the red book on upgrading to R6. Similarly, you really do need to actually do the kind of work that the book describes in order to pass the exams. I managed to pass all 3 exams in about 4 days, but I am an extreme case - I'd been doing the work for 7 years (my certification was in development) and I had access to an exam prep room which had copies of every book I might need.Read more

Suberb, comprehensive and well-written
Now, let me disclaim that I am not a big fan of thin books claiming to be "comprehensive". In fact, I was deeply suspicious while getting this "Hacknotes" thing. Was I up for a pleasant surprise!! This book does deliver what it promises. It walks a fine line of being both wide and deep, which I am still amazed about. From risk assessment methodologies to "find / -perm 0400" in just 200 pages is no small feat. Should be a reference for every admin

Good, but can be much better!
I decided to get this book as it seemed to be the only one on the market that targeted the 3 exams I wanted to take. I am happy to say I passed all three exams (first-time around) using the book, AND the designer help database. I recommend buying this book if you've not taken any courses or don't know what might be on the exam.

Good but...
If you have purchased Sybex Study Guide, don't spend too much money for CCNA exam. This book is good but you don't need this one beside Sbex Study Guide. Use Test King and also Boson Router Simulator with Lammle's Study Guide, this set will be enough to pass the exam. Meets its objectives exceedingly well.
This is an excellent prepatory source for the Cisco CCNA exam, and easily covers the vast majority of topics that are addressed on the exam. Like the other Sybex offering, as you might the book falls very short of being a useful guide to configuring Cisco routers in the real world, so don't study this book, pass the test, and assume you're a Cisco master! However, For those already reasonably knowledgeable abotu the fundamentals of networking, this book alone should be plenty sufficient to pass the exam.

An Incredibly Pogniant Book
The Sybex CCNA 2.0 Study Guide written by Lammle is a gem to be sure, but it contains entirely too much content in relation to what is on the test.I highly recommend reading the whole study guide, BUT, whatever you choose to do, buy the Sybex CCNA Exam Notes and drink in every word.This 300 pp. paperback book contains the nuggets of knowledge that the Cisco exam will question you upon.So, to summarize, buy the Sybex CCNA 2.0 Study Guide and compliment it with the Sybex CCNA Exam Notes!Don't forget to get some good router time in there too.I spent maybe 30 hours on a router.Doing these things, I scored a 913/1000 without breaking a sweat! ... Great synopsis of Red Hat - excellent resource
After reading through this book I found that I liked it not only for an exam guide but also as a source of quick answers to miscellaneous small questions.For example, I had a minor problem where I knew what the problem was and what had to be done, but could not remember the specific utility or specific steps needed.A quick turn to the appropriate section of the book and I had my answer.This is not a book that you would use to try to learn Linux and it does not profess to be such a book.On the other hand if you have a familiarity with Red Hat Linux and want a refresher, or a short summary of the most common administrative tasks this is an excellent book.If I were to take a good Linux book and write an outline so that I could just jump to the answers when I had questions this is the kind of book that I would end up with."Red Hat Certified Engineer Exam Notes" is a highly recommended read for anyone wanting a summary of Red Hat Linux in a well-organized format.

The book helped me with my first test
I was able to pass 521: Maintaining Domino Servers and Users studying exclusively with this book and using some practice test I came across. You will need Notes experience and I recommend finding all the practice test you can, but this book is a steal ... Everything Lotus comes up with on the test is in this book.

Not For the Casual User
This book is a very detailed examination of Domino R5, with emphasis on Administration and Application Development.It is a great STUDY GUIDE but is not particularly useful for someone with no experience wanting to get into these subjects.You must have some background in the subject to get any use out of this book.That said, I have used this as my prime study reference to earn a CLP as a developer.Two down, one to go.

Great preparation for CLP
I'm working with notes since two years, and I've done many courses. 3 Weeks ago I started the CLP test series. The 520 Test I passed with a score of 82%, the 521 with a score of 89% and the 3th one 522 today with 80%. I have learned only with this book and old online tests. Sloppy Sloppy Sloppy!
I'm not ready for the exam yet, but already I've picked out numerous typos, goof-ups and errors. Seriously it seems like they didn't even bother to proof read it before printing. The more I read the angrier I get - there's no excuse for this kind of sloppiness in a text that deals with very complicated material, where subtle differences in meaning make a HUGE difference for the exam. I'm tempted just to not finish reading it, it's very difficult to read, worded poorly and circularly, and often just does more to confuse me than help. The full size study guide is much better. Read that first and then approach these exam notes critically, and DON'T rely on them. If in doubt check your facts with other sources, cause this book can't be trusted.

good book
I got the book and didn't see any of the typos that other people were mentioning and I am a consultant who uses the language quite a bit... perhaps it was a newer edition, but i found this book useful

Full of errors and typos.
I typically don't bother writing reviews but the quality of this book is upsetting. In terms of the content this book is alright but don't expect to get away without one of the larger ones. This is only a brief review after all and sometimes not well explained. However, I must say this book is the lousiest quality I have seen for a while now.
