The best book on OS/2 ever written!
This is the only book I've been able to find that focuses exclusively on OS/2 Warp V4 - code named Merlin (not earlier versions). Fortunately, this is one of the BEST computer books ever written (and I've been in the computer biz for 20 years).Read more

Not good code to read, but a good place to start, maybe
This is the first OS/2 programming book I had bought. The code works as compiled (I used EMX - GNU C). However, it doesn't necessarily follow food form to a beginner. However, with the format of Dummy Books, this ends up working out, as it is much more casual. I was confused at times, but so would any newbie to writing in C for a graphical interface. OS/2 Warp books are hard to find, so why not buy it when you see it to add as an additional reference?

Excelent book for begginers on Warp Programming
This book describes exactly what you have to dowhen you program OS/2 applications, the only partmissing is the printing usage for programmers. If you are beggining, like i did, you must readthis book.

This book had less cheezy humour than other Dummies books.That is good.It was also a much better book than most other Dummies books that I have seen and it was even a little more in-depth. I would recommend it highly to anyone who wishes to learn the art of Warp programming. ... Read more

Good book, but a little out of date by now.
This is a good book. It explains some key areas well, and has useful information, but for the fairly high price it doesn't give a lot of material. Furthermore, two big chapters are focused on WinOS/2, which isnot as relevant as it once was. My final judgement is that if you need agood book specifically on one of the topics covered in this book, go forit. Otherwise, you may want to look at other books which are better dealsand cover more ground. ... Read more

The best book of its kind
Of all the OS/2 programming books, this one is the best.It covers more topics, with more relevant details and sample source code, than any other book.Especially valueable are chapters like "Multithreading in PM Applications", which no other book covers.The majority of chapters covers topics specific to PM programming, but this book is still a must-have for any OS/2 developer.

Excellent for beginners
This book is excellent if you have no experience with writing to awindowing platform.It is good to have a grasp on C and basic codingexperience.
