Good Overview
This book provides a good overview of air permitting and good explanations of many of the issues involved. I don't think it "...shows facility air quality managers, regulatory agency staff, and consultants how to prepare permit applications for Title V Federal Operating Permits or for New Source Review (NSR)or Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) perrmits for new or modified sources of air pollutant emissions, and how to comply with permits obtained." The differences between different facilities and states are too great for one book to do all that. Most books providing advice about air permitting imagine the reader is working for some "Mega-firm" with a team of eager co-workers. They might prove more useful if they focused on the poor guy locked alone in a room with six inches of forms and a bad calculator. Still, Leonard knows his material and provides many useful insights into the permit process.He writes clearly, has organized his material well and does a better job with a huge topic than any other book I have found.

This is a great book on Air Quality Permitting in the U.S.
I used this book last year, as a text book in a class at UCLA that Iteach.I am also using it this year.The book was very well received bythe students.I found it very useful to teach from, and as a referencebook.It is the only book of its kind, as far as I know.Thanks, Leon! ... Read more

Gripping Legal Drama Makes Great Reading
David Lebedoff is an excellent author.He goes to great lengths to portray factually and fairly the complicated story of the Exxon Valdez oil spill and ensuing trial.Despite the complex legal issues involved,Lebedoff skillfully makes the book read as though it were a novel.I wouldreccomend this book to anyone in need of a good read.

Highly detailed, but misspells a couple of Alaskan places
On March 24, 1989, the 987 foot oil tanker Exxon Valdez ran aground onBligh Reef, spilling 11 million gallons of North Slope crude oil into theonce pristine waters of Prince William Sound, creating the largest oilspill in U.S. history.David Lebedoff offers a detailed account of thespill and the legal wranglings surrounding the record $5 billion judgmentagainst Exxon, a judgment that is still under appeal. Lebedoff attempts toprovide an even-handed look at the spill and the development of the legalcase that grew out of it, but is hampered by the fact that Exxon refused toprovide comment. This is not the author's fault, but readers should beadvised that this book gives more insight into the perspectives of thevictims and their attorneys than it does into public relations strategiesthat Exxon may have employed and so on.Read more

A "Mental Adventure"
Capers in the Churchyard: Animal Rights Advocacy in the Age of Terror is a swift read, but a long mental journey. I feel the same sentiments as Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson when he writes in the book's foreward, "[The author, Lee Hall] thinks further than I have thought about certain areas, and I am thrilled to be able to follow her on this extraordinary mental adventure." Indeed, while reading the book, I was introduced to ways of thinking that are different from anything I have ever read in the literature, or heard at the conferences I've attended.

This is absolutely the best book ever written on animal rights, what works and what does not. I rarely get speechless, but I don't know where to start (or stop) praising Lee Hall for outlining the path we must follow to achieve true abolition of humanity's custom of enslaving any beings defined as non-human.

.....but this one fits in your pocket
The Table of Contents of this book is nearly indentical to the "Code of Federal Regulations" issued by the Justice Department and provided free of charge to anyone who asks for it. But at roughly 6x9 inches, it doesn't fit in my pocket. So if the pocket thing is important to you, I highly recommend this book!

I have reviewed and tried to read numerous books on the osha guidelines but this is without a doubt the best! Great Planning Resource
I'm a public official with the planning function, looking for a better way to preserve farm land, open space and rural character. This book offers a lot of insight into the history and uses of conservation easements. The book is divided into sections that describe in detail how laws and courts in each section of the country administer conservation easements. I recommend this book - it is an excellent planning resource!
