Dont buy from amazon
Attn all students! Amazon promises to send books by a specific date then changes the dates without your consent. Trying to get a refund is a nightmare. Be prepared to get stuck without the book and still get the bill. Customer service is outsourced to India and is no help even if you could understand them. 4 wks and counting and still no promised refund. This not the only time this has happened.The issue is not with the seller it is Amazon.

Excellent Book
I had this for my business law class and it was excellent! It is easy to read, the cases are interesting and the format is one of the best for a textbook!

I placed the order the book, but unfortunately, the text book was wrong one. Although I tried to contact this seller to return the book and have it refund as soon as I received the book, nobody responded to me. Eventually, I still keep this book and did not get refund. One-sided approach to regulation
I would have preferred a text that merely reported employers' compliance obligations in an objective manner, rather than portraying employers as the enemy.I generally found the text to be highly politicized and, to some extent, anti-management.This book does little to bridge the gap between the business community and academia.

Employment Law for business
As an attorney, manager, and teacher of human resources professionals, I recommend this book.I found that thie information was thoroughly researched. I also appreciated that the legal information was presented in a business context so that managers who are not lawyers could understand the information andreadily appy it to real life workplace problems.

Decent, but rather uneven coverage for an intro text.
One benefit of this book is that it contains articles, commentary, and discussion questions all in one text.It also covers a wide variety of issues, which is good since business ethics is a vast subject.On the negative side, I don't think the organization of the sections is the most effective way to approach the topic.The sections are organized based on a 1991 survey of CEOs in which the participants ranked their most important types of ethical dilemmas. As a result, there isn't the logical flow or progression of ideas from chapter to chapter that one might expect from a philosophy book. Unfortunately, the pragmatic interests of CEOs are not the same as the educational needs of students who are new to business ethics.There is also no discussion of ethical theories and no direct interaction between the articles. On the whole, this book may be beneficial if used in conjunction with a survey of ethical theories and ethical decision-making, but taken by itself it makes for a rather uneven introduction to business ethics. ... Don't Buy
The book has no color at all, everything is in black and white; also the case files found in the book are briefed and are poor reflections from the orginal public documents.I had to buy this book for a college class, it was cheaper here than in the school book store but I feel the book is only worth $20.

Good overview of business law
I realize that many of you buying this book won't have a choice about it--it's probably required for a class you are taking and don't much care how good or bad the book it because you need it regardless. However, for those of you who do have a choice: Current, Thorough, and User-Friendly

Law and Ehtics in the Business Environment
I would have to compliment the teacher that picks this book for their course. The book is interesting and easy to read. The fact that most of the cases are from real life situations makes the reading more interesting and easy to follow! Great book.

Mediocre
This edition is one of the better editions to come out. My professor didn't use the book in class, in fact he gave it bad reviews. We were advised to have the book to look up topics in more detail. We were also advised to study the chapter review questions, as they were used as test questions.
Buy It
An excelent source of information on Business Law. I had this book for my first college course in Business law and without it I might have failed. The book utalizes real cases and situations to explain virtualy every topic. The text is presented in a very clear and concise manner and applies to Business Law as practiced in America today. I personally have even used the information in this book to argue a case of my own in small claims and won. Im sure the other reviewer of this book just didn't take the time to study and learn the information. Rely on experience, not ramblings, buy this book!
