A must-have for LSAT prep
I am not aware of any other books that deal exclusively with the logical reasoning section of the LSAT. But it doesn't matter. This book is so comprehensive I'm not sure what the other books could include that this book has not.
Great study aid
This was a great study aid, I'm about half way through but I've already ordered the logic games bible because I'm so impressed. PS does a great job of explaining each question type and provides great hints on how to attack each question. My only suggestion for improvement is to add more lsat question examples, but since sample tests from LSAC are only $8 each you can always supplement your study that way.

Great LSAT Prep
This book seperates all LSAT Logical Reasoning Questions into 18 different types. They tell you what the question stem for each type looks like so you can identify it quickly and effectively use their Powerscore strategy. The book also uses REAL LSAT questions, which most other test-prep books does (which accounts for the high price - just a tidbit of advice, buy it well in advance of the October LSAT, the prices increases about 15 dollars in July).

Good practice - but also some good advice
I'm sure everyone knows that there are three preptests in this book. They are from three February exams which are usually undisclosed.
GET THIS BOOK
At first, I wasted my time with prep materials not written by the LSAC.Many of the questions seemed too easy or too hard.Additionally, many of these materials are plagued with typos, misreads and incorrect arguments.I suppose this is due to them being written by one, or maybe just a few, author(s).In contrast, the LSAT superprep is great.The questions are real LSAT tests from the past and the explanations help greatly.There are no typos I have found yet and the level of questions are much more realistic (actually, they're REAL so they must be realistic :). True, the material might be a bit dull at times but, Hey, that's how the test is anyway.You're not getting this book for entertainment, you're getting it to ace the LSAT.Good luck!

Highly Useful LSAT Prep Book
This book has some of the most cogent/coherent explanations and general overview of question types that LSAC has ever produced.The explanations are top quality and the overview is good.

Fantastic book - Recommended for anyone serious about good grades
I read this book right after trying to apply IRAC to my first midterm and doing horribly. After reading the first 50 pages I knew exactly what I did wrong and how I could have handled the question differently. I recommend also doing LEEWS as both methods are similar in that they teach you how to answer legal questions from both sides and arrive at a thoughtful response

Excellent book
I bought this book prior to beginning law school on the advice of the summer reading list.Although I haven't gotten through even my first semester, already what I have read has really made things in class seem clearer and I feel much more confident for the exam.I wholly recommend it.

Not Mac Friendly
While I find the contents of the book sufficient, I am peeved that no mention was made of the CD being Windows only. I specifically purchased this book over some other choices, because I thought the CD would be a valuable supplement. If you don't have access to Windows or were planning to study on a Macintosh or Unix box, then save the additional cost and do not buy this book as it is available for less without the CD.
Good Strategy book
This book does a great job of presenting sound strategies for tackling the different kinds of LSAT questions. If you're disciplined, you can probably prep on your own with this book instead of paying for the entire Kaplan course.

This got me through my evidence exam
Very good book on the subject, the best I've encountered in regards to Evidence and the FRE.I scored very well on my exam, despite slacking throughout the semester and skipping most of the readings.This book made the difference for me, and for a few of my friends who also got copies before our test.

WOW!
This book is truly indispensable.I looked at MANY different books, and this is BY FAR THE BEST.If you are even thinking about going to law school, this is a MUST HAVE.Very cheap, easy (actually fun) to read, and packed with useful, practical information.

It is a very good guide for anyone, intresting in applying to Law school.

Very Helpful
I really liked the no-nonsense advice in this book. Anna Ivey gives you straight up advice on how to get into your safety schools and how to tip the scales in your favor on the schools where you have a 50-50 chance of yes or no. There are some good sample essays in the back of the book that are helpful in crafting your own statement, as well as some bad ones that show you what to avoid. Helpful section on financial aid. If you only buy one book regarding the law school admissions process, The Ivey Guide should be regarded as a great primer to answer all of your questions (whether you are a recent grad or an older returning student, the over represented majority or a URM.) ... Beware of powerscore
A must have for the Lsat. If your thinking of buying the powerscore books. be wary, they will skew every practice test you take because they use real lsat questions from the very practice tests you must take to be ready for the test.My advice is to use the powerscore techniques but avoid answering any of the lsat questions in the books so you can evaluate yourself properly with the official lsat preptests.

LSAT Preparation - #2 most important set of tests you'll buy
If you only take 10 PrepTests before the real LSAT, these shouldn't be the tests you take.Get the newest tests you can beginning with PrepTest 39.They aren't yet sold in a book, so you'll be buying individual test booklets.If you have time to finish all of those then add this book.
Essential to Preparation
The book contains the newest tests released and is a definite necessity to studying for the LSAT.Although it does not contain answer explanations, it is great practice to take as many of these as possible before the real thing.I used them in addition to a more in-depth studying tool and found that together I had great preparation and was totally relaxed and ready on test day. ... Mediocre LSAT Study Aid
This book could be a lot stronger.The answers are not visually appealing, the games are laid out in ridiculous ways, there are numerous typos, the authors resort to explanations that amount to "just because", and I have found reasoning flaws in some of their explanations of why an answer is correct.
good for arguments and reading, but not necessarily games
This book is pretty helpful in terms of discovering what you did wrong - unless it's in the games section. The diagrams that this book creates are unrealistic in my opinion because they take up too much space and also they are difficult to follow.They look like something done in a word processor, so they aren't aesthetically pleasing, but also, more importantly, they're not great at organizing lots of information.There are crazy lines and arrows all over the place that are supposed to show flow of logic, but I don't see it.There are just too many and it's difficult to discertain which arrow came first.
Be Careful Assuming It Actually Has All the "Answers"
Because there aren't comparable books out there with explanations for every test question in every released LSAT Preptest included in "10 More Actual, Official LSAT Preptests," I would still consider buying this book for lack of a better option.However, calling the explanations "Unsurpassed" is reaching quite a bit.

Great way to jump start your MBE study
This book provides a strategic way to take MBE questions with an intro of what topics are tested within each subject and then an exam tactics section of what to look for in the questions.Then there are detailed answers for each question so you can look to see why the wrong answers are not correct.I would recommend this to anyone preparing for the Bar Exam, my bar study professor recommended to begin using this book our last semester of school before we actually began heavily studying for the exam, it was good advice! ... It's pretty bad
This book isn't completely useless, though it's pretty close.I'd say that a couple of the Logical Reasonig chapters are useful, but that's about it.The games section is completely useless (get the Powerscore Logic Games Bible).
DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK - COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME
I have to say I am very disappointed and I may actually take Kaplan up on thier 100% money back policy.I purchased the Kaplan LSAT, Kaplan 180, Powerscore Logic Games Bible, Powerscore Logic Reasoning Bible and started with the Kaplan LSAT.How unfortunate, as Powerscore uses methods 100% more effective, in addition to using real LSAT examples.
NOT real LSAT questions = NOT worth the money
When I started studying for the LSAT I didn't fully understand the importance of studying with REAL LSAT questions. I purchased the basic Kaplan LSAT book + Kaplan 180. the basic Kaplan book was a COMPLETE waste of money, and the Kaplan 180 was little better. The questions just aren't from actual LSATs, and they simply aren't the same. Furthermore, the books were riddled with typos. If I could do it all over again in a more cost effective manner here is what I would get, respectively:

Current law student
I was not very impressed with this book.This is even more true as I continue my legal education.The advice for those thinking of going to law school seemed like common sense.Some of the 1L information was good but a lot does not really apply unless you are going to a school similar to those the 'mentors' attended.Other items that they say will help you get ahead just seem like shortcuts that will probably burn you in the long run.
Beacon in the darkness
Law School Confidential is a must read for anyone considering law school.It's very helpful when you get there, too. The book is a beacon in the darkness of the first days of class. I consult it on a regular basis.

Waste of time
This book is a waste of time. While it does have some valuable info you will be better served by getting the Logical Reasoning & Games Bible (2 books). The PR book gives brief overviews and very difficult questions, while the Bibles give very in depth information and actual questions from the LSAT. If you are broke then the PR is decent. Just the basics.
This helps prepare you but doesn't give tips or anything.I'd buy these types of books in combination with others designed to explain how the LSAT questions are asked, etc.Powerscore is the best by far in that area.

get the latest version
I didn't think it mattered which practice tests I got.As it turns out, many of the practice lessons in the other books were duplicated from earlier tests.So... the more recent the better, I'd say.

I used this book for the DULSAT TEST, some of the questions were almost identical to what they used on this test for entry into Deakin UNI Law School.

Good for Basic Information, But Not Advice
This book is a great reference guide to general information about each law school.The information in the book may be available on each school's website or elsewhere on the web, but this book saves time by bringing the data together and presenting it in an organized way, which is especially useful when comparing various law schools.

Editorial Review

While almost anything goes in a college-application essay, law-school applicants are expected to be a little more sophisticated. No navel-gazing allowed. But please, no pontificating, either. Like admissions officers everywhere, those at law schools are looking for something fresh. That means, says Boykin Curry, that unless you are quite certain that you've got a spectacular new approach, you should avoid such topics as "Why I want to be a public defender," "I have always wanted to be a lawyer since I was ten," and "What I think about justice" ("lecturing on the law--before you have studied it--" Curry warns, "is likely to bore and irritate the reader"). Instead, be honest, and be creative. Use these essays for inspiration. One essayist here demonstrates his bargaining skills by relating his Peace Corps experiences haggling over goat meat in Niger. Another writes touchingly of his stated goal: to practice law with the same integrity that his grandfather brought to his carpentry business. Read more

Very helpful for me
I have a biology and computer science background and was very nervous about my ability to write an impressive essay compared to other applicants with a background in english, history,and political science.I quickly identified with the essays of non traditional applicants, but also learned a great deal from the wit, charm, and literary styles of the other essays.I found the book to be invaluable in my application efforts.Thank you.

A helpful book but could have been better
I personally found it helpful to see what other applicants had written.The forty essays in this book are separated into seven categories.They are essays about: Character, the school and you, important changes, entering the legal profession, contemplative, crimes, and applicants with colorful backgrounds.I found about half of the essays to be of little help to me personally as they were more the result of an applicant's specific abilities than a good essay.For example, I did not find essays about being a congressman's son, growing up as a Native American, or living in Niger to be to helpful.It would also have been nice to know which essays worked at which schools.It mentions the schools on the cover but does not tell which essays went to each school.This would be especially helpful since some worked at Florida State and Tulane while others worked at Harvard and Stanford an obvious difference.Personally, I found How to get into the Top Law Schools to be more helpful but this is good as supplementary reading.

Boring Essays
The book has its helpful points, but the overwhelming majority of the essays in this book are boring and don't stand out in too many ways, in my opinion. I'm having a hard time seeing why the various admissions officers chose to submit the essays in this book--probably because most applicants write boring essays, as even the admissions officers in this book will tell you. I also guess it's because the title of the book is "Essays That Worked," not "Essays That Are Impressive." And I'll bet the essays mainly "worked" because everything else in their admissions files was stellar and they were written in a decent fashion. Read more

One of those style books that ranscebds its genre.
I'm a lawyer who is considered a wordsmith by colleagues and judges.This is one of the most important books I've ever encountered.I was exposed to it in my first law school year's writing class, and its lessons have remained with me since.Banish the passive voice! (unless deliberately and thoughfully chosen and used).This is not merely a key to fluidity in writing, but in a sense a moral imperative.Actions are attributable to actors - they don't simply occur.If you're asserting an action took place, you and your reader should know who or what you claim set it in motion.This necessitates intellectual rigor and clarity.Also, I remember and have employed for twenty-five years Wydick's apt metaphor that good legal writing is like fine cabinetmaking: the skill of the craftsman is shown by the crafted joints not requiring glue, just as the quality of a piece of prose is shown by its lack of reliance on "glue words" (read the book).I've used the lessons of Wydick's brief book as a lawyer, writer and writing teacher.I've given it to colleagues, non-lawyers and young relatives.Their writing uniformly improved. ... This is THE book to read if you are Law School bound
I wasted my money on other books. The biggest waste of money was Law School Confidential. By Law in a Nutshell and don't waste your money on other books. It was terrific! It was even humorous.

Buy It, Borrow It, Just Get It.
The single best book that I have found which really does explain the study and practice of law, hence the title.

Helpful, not a must have
