Not for the solo lawyer; not about marketing, except for the author
I was disappointed by this book.I am a solo litigation attorney, and I read the book to get ideas on marketing.It gave me some ideas.Perhaps the most valuable idea was to focus more on customer service; Dahut has an interesting discussion about exactly what that means and how we can do it better.By and large, however, this is a book by and for big firm attorneys.It is about big firm angst and how it can be combated by hiring experts such as Dahut to do extensive consulting work for your firm.Dahut does not acknowledge, and does not care, that most attorneys are solos or work in small firms, and that we have very different issues than agonizing over whether we have lost our soul by conforming to much to dead firm culture.

Strong ideas - useful and inspiring
This work is really true to its theme - it offers new perspectives on how to see business development and because of this new perspective, it makes the process very managable. I stongly recommend this book to anyone who is really serious about growing their practice.

All Around Good Introduction To Business Law
Well written book that provides a good introduction into business law principles. Outlines complex concepts with case law that makes it easy to understand. A reccomended read for the pre-law students as well as a valuable reference for business owners.

Condition of Text
The text was torn. The cover was horrible and it had so much writing in it. It was the wrong text. I typed the IBSN, why would that book show up. I was very disappointed in this purchase.

I was given this book for free by someone who had used it for a college course and didn't want it. I couldn't believe the person wanted to throw it away. This book tells all the basics of business law. If you don't know anything about business law, read it. It is a good book for beginners. I know I will keep it for a reference book for a long time. I am starting my own business and I refer to it all the time. Not only does the book tells just about everything you need to know about business law, it gives actual descriptions of court cases to illustrate the points of each section. The facts speak volumes
I love the kind of comments from someone like Jason in the January 2003 review! And am grateful for the sites he listed so I could check out the lawsuit he spoke of and get the current information! Once again, blessings and beauty come out of negative situations! How powerful that lawsuit is in dispelling the myths; the false perceptions, and misunderstanding of what PPL is all about! Very practical.

Good Information if you're a beginner to the topic......
This book is very easy to read and provides some excellent general advice and information for readers who are unfamiliar with the topic.
Want to protect yourself!
Author Goldstein has been an asset protection attorney for many years. His first book, Asset Protection Secrets, was a best seller. This one is for everyone: people with money; people with little assets but they don't want to lose them; young and old; married, divorced and single; savvy or naive.
I Only Wish I'd Had this Book a Few Years Ago
This is a book that I wish I'd had (and paid attention to) some years ago, that is, before being sued for divorce. I then had to learn what he says here through talking to attorneys (at $much per hour this is an expensive approach) and by writing my ex-wife big checks (but I got sole custody of the kid so it was worth it).

Excellent Resource
I think the book really pinpointed all the pertinent information that a new nurse consultant needs in order to begin. Although the text does cover how to begin your business; I do suggest that you buy a recommended book on how to market yourself in order to be successful in practice.

Don't know how to get clients?This is the book for you.
