Outstanding and comprehensive coverage of estate planning.
The book is so clearly written, with explanations followed by simple examples.It covers every aspect I could think of, with occasional advice that you could do this yourself, or sometimes that you really need a lawyer.If you have a substantial estate you will probably want to have an expert do the work.But you should read this book so you know what the expert is doing (or you could pay the expert $200-300 an hour to educate you on basics).Simply the best book Ihave read all year.

Don't Buy
The book has no color at all, everything is in black and white; also the case files found in the book are briefed and are poor reflections from the orginal public documents.I had to buy this book for a college class, it was cheaper here than in the school book store but I feel the book is only worth $20.

Great Book No serial number for online part
I bought this book from Amazon recently, they have been great about getting it resolved but from what we can tell after having replaced twice the serial number that they mention on the book is not included in any of the books Amazon has in stock.

A digest of rules too broad for serious instructional use.

Great book!
The class was great and the book was great. Give you real life cases so you understand material. Gives you information on how the US compares to other nations. Also has funny facts and snippits of funny cases. Highly recommend, can learn a lot!

Good overview of business law
I realize that many of you buying this book won't have a choice about it--it's probably required for a class you are taking and don't much care how good or bad the book it because you need it regardless. However, for those of you who do have a choice: Current, Thorough, and User-Friendly
In my opinion, this is the finest business law textbook on the market.It contains well-edited cases for discussion, cogent analysis of policy and legal history, and easy-to-read flowcharts that help students go through the legal reasoning steps.Read more

Important for anyone negotiating a commercial lease
Very good book.Helpful insight into the various issues surrounding commercial leases, and helps put together the pieces of the puzzle.It has been a real asset in the last two leases I have negotiated.

Excellent and nuanced discussion of leasing issues
I negotiate retail and office leases as part of my law practice. This book is an excellent guide to the points that need to be considered when negotiating a lease. It will help attorneys as well as business people and brokers. The author does a good job in explaining, often in detail, the business reasons behind the different positions that the landlord and the tenant take. Understanding those reasons puts you in a much better position to create satisfactory compromises. Also, this book doesn't just address the major points - I was surprised to see how many subtle points the author addressed. Overall, an excellent book and a great value at this price.

Reasonably Useful
I'll agree that this book is a little random, but I've made it through the whole thing over numerous train commutes and found it useful in discussing how certain specific lease provisions can translate into a variety of outcomes in the real world of LL/tenant relations.

Tad Crawford Does It Again
Tad Crawford has written a whole series of books out of his expertise in the law and creative arts, with a special focus on photography.I'd suggest looking at Tad's other books, too, since this one is more action-focused without extensive explanations of the whys and wherefores of it.
Business and Legal Forms for Photographers
Appears to cover all the bases, including contracts, legal assistance, and many more forms than I ever imagined I might need. Very informative.

An Invaluable Resource
I didn't originally buy this book to "read".I bought it for the invaluable resources inside - the wealth of forms that any photographer needs to protect their work and their business.What makes this book so enticing is you don't have to photocopy, or redesign any of the forms since they're all included on a CD that comes with the book.That being said, I should mention that I was quite surprised at the thorough explanation for each form, and the situations where each form might be needed contained in the book.A person could undoubtedly pay hundreds (probably thousands) in legal fees assembling the information in this book on their own.This book is a photographer's "legal-resource-in-a-book".I highly recommend it. ... Plenty of books impart the basics of how to work independently - but too few include all the legal tips, tricks and traps involved. Record-keeping processes are simplified with sample logs and entry advice, chapters on how the IRS defines an independent contractor versus a paid employee are essential keys to keeping independent status, and advice on pricing and insurance offer key strategy-oriented tips and approaches. A 'must' for any who would work independently.
Great straghtforward information and advice
I recently a started an S corp for my software contracting.The book is helpful and worth the price.It won't answer EVERY question you will have, but you probably should talk to a CPA for those anyway.

Another Nolo Press Winner
My husband is an independent photographer, so the Nolo Press books are great for him, geared as they are to all those wishing to handle all the paperwork for themselves, instead of the usual array of lawyers, accountants, etc.He keeps it as a reference book and can easily turn to whatever subject he needs more information on.Well-written and easy to understand, as are all Nolo books, these books are wonderful to review periodically. ... Worth The Investment
This is one of four books on purchasing and managing real estate that we purchased.Although pricey due to availability in hardback only, for those such as us that are first time buyers of commercial real estate, the data, clarity of thought and information will likely prove very valuable. It is a quick read that provides the basic tenets of buying multi-family units.The financial elements are fairly simplistic; hence we purchased an additional book that delves into the intricacies of purchasing and financing multi-family units.

Best I've Found Thus Far
Of the three books I've read on investing in multi-family real estate, this is by far the best.The author does a good job of walking the reader through from start to finish the purchase of a representative property.In the appendix the author provides several very easy to understand and useful financial analysis templates which can easily be recreated in Excel or any other spreadsheet program.

The Real Estate Recipe: Make Millions by Buying Small Apartment Properties in Your Spare Time
I found the book to be a very concise (Nuts & Bolts) and logical approach to buying small apartment properties from someone who obviously knows the process. Two Patents and more to come.
I've been issued two patents using Pressman's book.The patent office issued an office action on the first patent and I used an attorney to overcome the action.The second patent was issued on my first submission.
A must have for the begining inventor!
Get out of the dark and have light put on your own ability to make a patent.You have made the invention (that was the hard part) now go get it patented with this book!

Getting Notary Signature
My husband & I bought this product after reading the reviews on Amazon, so we thought it would be OK for residents of New York state. However, before you buy it, you should check with the laws of the state you live in, because in New York state, it is now our understanding that a Notary cannot sign & witness a Will. We completed the information on the Will. We had to cut & paste a part of it, because it left out information on my husband's Will. My Will printed all OK, but his had empty spaces no matter how many times we tried to print it. After the final paste, we went to find a Notary. We went to banks, and to the town hall, and everywhere we were told none of the Notaries would sign for a Will. One Notary told us she'd lose her license if she did. Finally we checked on line at New York laws, and based on the information there, we now have an appointment with a lawyer to make our Wills. So for us, we couldn't find any Notary to notarize our Wills.
