Disappointing Regurgitation of Old Ideas
I was very disappointed with this book, and only after reading it did I find out that Warda doesn't even practice in the area of asset protection, but instead just cranks out "self-help" type book (over 60, according to his own plug). The old phrase "Jack of All Trades, Master of None" seems to be particularly applicable to Mr. Warda's knowledge of asset protection, which translates into little more than a re-write of other (now outdated) works from last century. I guess you'll buy this if you want the entire Warda-on-everything collection, but take a pass if your specific interest is asset protection. ... Read more

International taxation made understandable
This book makes international taxation easy to understand.
Sloppy and superficial
This book was disappointing for three reasons. First, there are computational errors in the chapter on the foreign tax credit. Second, there are errors of fact in the summary of Aiken v. Commissioner on page 239. The author confused the roles of the Bahamian corporation and the Honduran corporation or, at the very least, doesn't adequately explain the relation between the two in this case. The case is only 2 pages long, which makes this slip inexcusable. Third, the author is capable of better. He openned his career with one of the most powerful critiques of the "substance over form" doctrine. This book, by contrast, reads like something that was tossed off in a week. Moreover, the work is out of date. Four years is an eternity in this fast-changing area of the law. Conduits are old-hat. The "limitation-on-benefit" clauses included in every US treaty since 1979 has killed them. Where is the chapter on dual consolidated losses and other double-dip transactions? Why does the author cite cases from the 1920s when there are more recent guidance on point? Etc. etc.

Simply a Great Book

Home Business Tax Deductions Review
This is a great book and well worth the money. It is well layed out and organized. I found it easy to find information. It is very detailed and covers all the basic information needed to get a small business started. The book is well written in that it explains everything in an easy to understand manner.

Very helpful and easy to use.
This book was very helpful and used language and a format that made it easy to follow and understand. I was left with some questions but mostly because of the unique qualities of my business.

The Written Rules and the Real Rules in Plain English
This book starts off with a very good description of what this book is all about: John and Jane both gross $50,000 a year. John gets $40,000 after taxes, Jane gets $45,000. The difference - John works for someone and goes into work. Jane works at home and gets to deduct her home office expenses.

Not great, could have covered more complex issues
Book covers all of the basic deductions. The J.K Lasser's small business taxes book is much better. Everything in this book is available on the IRS website. In fact, much of this book seems to be just a rewrite of the standard IRS tax guides.

Whoops !
I found a significant error in this book. Medigap policies were listed as both a valid medical deduction and an invalid medical deduction.

I ain't saying you a gold digger but...
People only sue other people who have money!This book touches on the important ABCs on avoiding lawsuits, avoid standing out in the broke crowd, and holding assets in anything but your own name without losing control of them.There is a very enlightening section on Life Insurance that was worth every penny in itself.This taps into Land Trusts but for a complete package I found it with Land Trusts by Louis Brown (just be prepared to pay serious $$)because this topic doesn't come easy to me.Never-the-less, this is the book for you if you're ready to protect your ass-ets.
Great Starter Book for Asset Protection
On my first reading of this book, I said, "Huh?"Then, I attended a corporation seminar.Both the seminar and Bronchick's book were instrumental in formation of my expertise in the use of corporations for asset protection for my real estate business.Admittedly, this book is light on details, but the diagrams and examples provided more than make up for that.Besides, you should seek professional advice anyway in addition to this material.
Plain English explanations of complicated subjects
Once again, Mr. Bronchick does an excellent job of taking complicated legal subjects and making them readable for the average person. I am an attorney as well, and I often recommend this book for clients to read as a primer to the subject (especially when I tell them what it will cost for an hour of my time to explain it!).There are a few books on the market on asset protection, but this is the only one that is geared towards the landlord or small-time real estate investor. One caveat for the reader- there are some sample forms in the appendix, but they appear to be for example only.One should always review these concepts with an attorney to make sure the forms are drafted to comply with the client's specific needs and appropriate state law. ... Great Guide
This book is a great guide for analyzing and determining strategies to take against the government.It's great not to have to reinvent the wheel by using the checklists and deposition questions and form complaints etc that are provided in this book as a guide. It is a book I refer to regularly in my practice and I have given it to new associates in our trial training program.

I bought this book after hearing the author speak at a bar conference. I was impressed. She really knew what she was talking about and she provided actual substantive materials as handouts not just outlines that you normally get from presenters.
