5-0 out of 5 stars Unconditional Love For Marley
I just finished Marley and Me last weekend. I am a huge dog lover and all of my friends kept telling me that I HAD to read this book. So I finally gave into that adorable face on the cover and took the plunge.

5-0 out of 5 stars Baldacci's best
I'm quite sure, and I've read almost all of his books, this is his best yet. Brilliant plot, very believable characters. Best book this year since I read Bob Collins' "Ambassador Strikes."

5-0 out of 5 stars Perhaps Baldacci's Best Yet. Sit Back and Enjoy This One!
David Baldacci's ensemble of fascinating and brilliantly created characters in `The Collectors' coupled with two intertwining plots of murder and a clever financial con make for a completely enjoyable and page-turning read.Following his best selling hit `The Camel Club' with some familiar faces and the addition of the sultry yet incorrigibly scandalous Annabelle Conroy, readers will be continually amused and entertained as Baldacci, as if a grand maestro, intertwines and blends the character action and movement with such ease and storyline pleasure. As usual and expected in Baldacci's novels, readers will be left turning the pages, in this case as the plot moves to a very interesting conclusion when the World of Washington politics and those involved with a long-term swindle are forced to collide. Folks, sit back and enjoy `The Collectors', it very well may be David Baldacci's best yet. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars I'm sorry but I'm sooooo bored
I've read all the glowing reviews here and I will say that I loved Cold Mountain.I'm only 1/2 way through Thirteen Moons and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to finish it.It is so boring that I read pages and pages and realize that I have no idea what I've just read!It might as well be a book on economic theory for all the pleasure it is giving me.

2-0 out of 5 stars Who the hell is Claire?
a mysterious girl named Claire.... we never found out who she is, what
2-0 out of 5 stars Did I miss something too?
Like an earlier reviewer, I wonder what I missed that others did not.Though the author writes beautiful prose, I think his story (or the lack of one) makes for one of the most boring and uninteresting novels I have ever read.I recommend that you not waste your valuable time reading this novel. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Albom Write an American Fable
One More Day is an American Fable, and I mean that in the best of ways. This "as told to me" tale is poignant and tender and perhaps a bit too story-ish, but that's what it is--agood story with a good meaning. Not every book has this intention, but this does, so I accepted the terms and kept reading.
5-0 out of 5 stars This is book is life changing!!
I loved this book!!!! It really made me start to think about my life and how I need to begin to appreciate things more. This book is better than "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" because the story. I love my mother and this story made me appreciate her even more. READ THIS BOOK!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Patterson is great
James Patterson and Andrew Gross have another great novel in Judge and Jury, along with a previous combined effort, Lifeguard.

4-0 out of 5 stars Loved the ending
I read all of Patterson's books--even those he co-writes which perhaps means he's not the writer. But I enjoy most of them for what they are--fun to read. And in this one, I loved the ending. It made me smile. And to me, that helps to make it a good book and a fun story.
1-0 out of 5 stars buy it at a garage sale
James patterson aka whoever he is writing with at the moment has totally lost it... shallow plot, no in depth characters, really not much of a story. i didnt want to buy it but my neighbor insisted. it was her first patterson novel.. anyway, he is laughing all the way to the bank.. bad book.i didnt even finish the first 100 pages, thank goodness Target takes back books or i would be out 20.00. thank you . lisa baker. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Good Old Harry
I just finished reading Echo Park and really enjoyed it.I like the way Michael Connelly keeps the action moving and keeps the reader wondering what is going to happen next.I usually have some of the villians identified but in this case I did not see Abel Pratt involved in the plot.I too feel it would have been good to see what happened to those corrupt people. However, I used my imagination which perhaps is what the author intended.

2-0 out of 5 stars What a disappointment!
Having read several of Connelly's books, I expected this one to be a cut above the usual crime thriller genre.I was sorely disappointed.Although the plot is somewhat interesting, the characterizations are weak and there is just too much tough cop talk and unbelievable heroics. The narration is weak, especially the personification of the FBI agent girlfriend, which is absolutely grating.I did finish it, but wish I could get my money back.

5-0 out of 5 stars Harry Bosch remains one of the best cop characters in fiction
Settling in with a new Harry Bosch book by Michael Connelly is like getting together with an old, close friend you haven't seen in a long while.Harry is still with LAPD's Open-Unsolved Unit along with his partner, Kiz Ridder. Returning to the police force after a short, unsatisfying retirement, Harry still looks at cases from long ago, cases that he had a hand in, but were never solved.

1-0 out of 5 stars A fading voice
Unfortunately the Sid Halley of old did not appear on a single page of Under Orders. The edgy, brilliant jockey-turned-investigator has turned into a boring, spectacularly non-verbal character who tells us things the Sid Halley of the earlier books would have ridiculed. For example, he describes for us his evening meal in long-winded, elementary school level prose. This may just be the natural end foretold in the previous books: over time the books became blander and sometimes boring.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great to have Francis back
It is great to have Dick Francis (and Sid Halley) back. Unlike other reviewers, I think it is obvious that the person who wrote this DID write the other Francis (and Halley) books.

1-0 out of 5 stars Sadly disapointing
I was so looking forward to a new Sid Halley story. What a disapointment.Who wrote this mess?It doesn't have the tone of the author's previous books. The same characters are back but with totally different personalities. Their behaviours and dialogs just do not mesh with the earlier Sid Halley stories. Is Mr. Francis past his writing prime or did his late wife write the earlier books?I suggest taking this out of the library instead of purchasing it. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars If this book changed your life, you really didn't have a life in the first place.
This was a nice book for casual reading and I found it somewhat entertaining. But, I was disappointed because I guess I was expecting something a little more profound. I can't say that the book was thought-provoking or inspirational, but it was a nice read. [...] After all, this is a story about a man (Eddie, who was the maintenance man at a local amusement park) who was plagued by misfortune up until his dying day. This man lived a very miserable life. And except for two of the five people he meets in heaven, I don't see how they played a vital role in his life since he didn't even know them. They merely crossed each other's path once or twice during his 83-year existence, and now that he's in "heaven", these strangers are supposed to explain to him the "meaning of HIS life"? I know this story is fiction, but c'mon, it could have been a little more profound and credible than this stuff. So, read it if you like, but don't expect to get anything of substance out of it. FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY!

4-0 out of 5 stars A unique & well thought out book
I still have no idea what made me think this book looked good. I had never heard of the author, I don't believe in God, and my first experiences of the idea of Heaven & Hell were from Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey and Ghost. One's a comedy. I'll let you work out which one.

2-0 out of 5 stars Weak and disappointing..
I never miss an Evanovich book. She is the only author I actually buy in harcover.I want my money back !!!This is a pale shadow of her usual writing.Maybe her publisher was pressuring her for a book so she tossed this one off.I don't know but I do know I was very disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Read!
This book is really funny and a quick read. This would be a good book to take on vacation or lounge by the pool because it is light and funny.I like all of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books and also Metro Girl, so I felt this book was comparable to those. If you want a laugh, this book is for you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Another great book by Evanovich!
I LOVED Motor Mouth! It was such a fun read and I greatly enjoyed the characters.Being a NASCAR fan, I love the theme of these books even more.I greatly enjoyed Metro Girl, but have to say that I loved this one even more!I can't wait for the next Evanovich to come out!!I look forward to each of her releases and have yet to be disappointed!I highly recommend this one for a fun read full of laughs! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites
"Angels Fall" is one of my all-time favorite books by Nora Roberts. The characters are believable, the plot is full of suspense, and the setting is breathtaking. Once again, Nora Roberts does not disappoint when it comes to describing the lush mountain scenery.
4-0 out of 5 stars She's the Master
Even though this is the first Nora Roberts' book I've reviewed, I'm a huge fan and have read almost all of her books. The only reason I didn't give this book five stars is because it's not as in depth as her other books - such as Northern Lights - one of my all time favorites.Don't get me wrong, Angels Fall wasn't lacking in any regard. I thoroughly enjoyed the characterization - impeccable as usual - Reece and Brody read like real people. The plot was intriguing and even though I wasn't too surprised when the "bad guy" was revealed, it didn't at all detract from a very enjoyable read.Nora Roberts seems to write effortlessly while sucking you into the story, making you feel as if you're watching it all unravel on the big screen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Read
The book was riveting in such that I couldn't put the book down even while working. The finding out what Reece was hiding and becoming a strong person because she wanted to live her life was excellent. The trust she had for Brody made the romance that was coming so believable.Excellent story. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars This historian is a good read
Okay, this is an enjoyable book, but far less enjoyable than any Harry Potter novel. I have yet to read the end, but I am disappointed that Dracula, himself, shows up only in the last 100 or so pages. That's lame.
5-0 out of 5 stars I suddenly wish I were a Historian... Wonderful*****
I found The Historian to be a wonderful & easy read from beginning to the end.Very well written.VERY Dracula-esque.If you loved Bram Stoker's original masterpiece, you will love this as well.
4-0 out of 5 stars Lovely!
The story begins with our heroine finding a bunch of old letters, all addressed, quite melodramatically, to "My Dear and Unfortunate Successor". Shortly afterwards, her father goes missing and she uses the letters to try and track him down. Her quest takes to monasteries and libraries all over Europe, and she finds herself being hunted down by a sinister figure - the same being that has haunted both her grandfather and father's letters, and who may be the cause of her mother's mysterious death. As she delves deeper, she finds out more about her family history and begins to understand just how truly terrible her adversary is.

5-0 out of 5 stars Flagg does Southern Justice
Can't Wait to Get to Heaven is Fannie Flagg's best work. It is southern fiction at its finest, which is quite a compliment because when it's done right, it's amazing. We're back in Elmwood Springs with characters we know and love, and Flagg's characterization is pristine. This book is funny, touching and quirky. She's managed to create a town most people would love to live in with down-home charm and a dash of trouble.
5-0 out of 5 stars Some books are just plain fun
Sometimes you want to read a novel that just makes you feel better. And if you are in that mood, you'd be hard pressed to find a better one than this. Here you don't expect to find terrorists blowing things up, you don't find all kinds of grief and sadness. Instead you find an interesting group of characters from a small southern town with concerns like 'will the world end before I get to collect Social Security.'
2-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as past novels
I love Fannie Flagg's writing - and have enjoyed her past books.Sadly - this time around - this title does not measure up to her usual fine quality. Her past novels were glib, engaging, heartfelt... This installment is flat.Great characters - but they don't go anywhere.I have loved her past works - folksy, charming, real characters that you wish you knew.In the past - I could not put down her books and could not wait for this to come out. This one - I literally put down half way through.I was disappointed. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars TYPICAL CUSSLER, WHICH IS TERRIFIC

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Clive!
One of my favorite Clive Cussler novels in the past few years. Fast paced to be sure, but I thoroughly enjoyed the non-stop action-adventure written by the master. If you love Clive Cussler, you will love it!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Sub-par Effort
I'm a big Cussler fan, but this novel is not up to par.I expected this to be a light read, with the standard fast-paced, multi-line story with a lot of action.Skeleton Coast delivers, but delivers way too much pace, way too much action, and not much narrative.

4-0 out of 5 stars 4 1/2 Stars
I thought this to be a fascinating and sometime graphic thriller. This is my first experience with Tess Gerritsen and will most likely read more from this author. As mentioned elsewhere, the characters backgrounds were shyed away from, and since I have not read any of her previous novels, I was sometimes a bit stymied. An entertaining read nonetheless.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another Gem from Tess Gerritsen!
The Mephisto Club is a very fast paced novel, which is my favorite type of story. It brings back the recurrent main characters of Detective Jane Rizzoli and Dr. Maura Isles. This time Detective Rizzoli and Dr. Isles are dealing with an exceeding violent killer who murders his victims in a ritualistic fashion leaving clues that link him to the occult/supernatural.Is the killer a demon or is he merely a brillian sociopath who taunts his victims and the police alike? That is the question facing Detective Rizzoli and Dr. Isles as they try to track him.
5-0 out of 5 stars Chilling!
I liked The Mephisto Club best of the books in this fine series. If you've liked any of the earlier books, you should definitely read this one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good But Slow
The first book by Sandra Brown that I read was Chill Factor and really enjoyed it. Ricochet was a good book, but slow in the middle. I will definitely read more of her books.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent story!
This is definitely one of her better romantic suspense stories. She's definitely back to the Mirror Image type romantic suspense. This definitely had more romance than Chill Factor.I thought the romance between Elise and Duncan was passionate and really heartfelt. I truly believed they loved each other.
3-0 out of 5 stars poor character development has me ricocheting between reading Sandra's next book or not
I have read all Sandra Brown's suspense/romance novels so I feel justified in saying that although Ricochet was a better read than White Hot or Chill Factor, I was again bothered by the poor character development. Duncan was a fairly well developed character--DeeDee somewhat better, but not much for any other players. The concept of ricocheting between the lies and deceit carried out by Elise, an unreliable character, is too much to ask of the reader.I am personally insulted that I was cheated out of the inner workings of Elise's mind, thoughts, and force fed her version of everything. The concept in writing is, "show don't tell." None of that here!
