5-0 out of 5 stars It got me the exact car I wanted.
Without reading this book, I never would have thought to contact the seller and make an offer that would end the auction immediately. As a result, I was able to get the exact car I wanted, and the seller got his cash the next day, without having to worry about possibly flaky bidders. Win-win.
1-0 out of 5 stars Ebay Motors, the smart way
"eBay Motors, the smart way". Obviously written by a ghost writer, who relates the information second hand. A poorly written book. Lots of useless, impractical dictionay style information. The two "crafty" authors make a feeble attempt at providing actual applicable selling and buying methods, however they fail miserably. On a positive note, a real catchy cover. Numerous blank pages inside, lots of white pages of air space. An obvious attempt at stretching this book out to 290 pages. Frankly, after purchasing and reading, it was a total waste of time and money. This book is a real "dud". Peter Vrouhas, Boynton Beach, FL

2-0 out of 5 stars Very limited...
I couldn't find a lot of real information for buying and selling on e-bay with this book. The book seems to have more on common sense than on laws and regulations. I admit that I bought the book to learn more about buying and selling as a hobby and I find it more directed at first time buyers or buyers only interested in buying or selling once. He gives no references to state laws or regulations. I found that in order to make the book work I had to find majority of the important information online.

This book give lots of good information about the tent sites, which was the most helpful.I would have liked to have seen more consistency with what information was offered overall for each location.

As a native Floridian who has lived as far south as the FL Keys and as far north as the Pan Handle, I turned critical eye on Johnny Molloy's "The Best in Tenting Camping:Florida".I was delighted to see includedsome of my favorite destinations as well as places other locals have longprized as remnants of the "real Florida".As an experiencedkayak camper I particularly appreciated Mr. Molloy's inclusion ofinformation on paddling opportunities. He has provided new information onput-in destinations as well as coaxed me into my many new trail hikingexperiences.I find this book accurate in it's assesements and helpful init's suggestions. 5-0 out of 5 stars At Long Last, Voices of Reason!
Finally, a common-sense guide to managing yourself on the open road! This father/son team of writers has done it again (see The Dog Ate My Resume). Their level-headed advice is priceless regarding the wisdom of picking and choosing among the bewildering array of traffic rules and regulations, amending them at will, in order to get from here to there with a minimum of fuss and interference by other drivers. A thousand and one laughs--don't read it while driving! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great guide to Virginia's public campgrounds
Tent campers who crave the peace and quiet of wilderness and traveling families who just want to save money by camping will appreciate this guidebook. Fifty campgrounds are reviewed and mapped with key information handily summarized in sidebars. In this second edition (2004), writer Marie Javins updated Randy Porter's book. Both writers are from Virginia and show a love of this state's natural beauty. Expect to find the usual basics, full narrative descriptions to help you plan your trip, and even internet contact information. Travelers will appreciate the tips on getting around, not only by car but in some cases by canoe or by public transit.

5-0 out of 5 stars A no-nonsense outdoors companionfor tent campers

3-0 out of 5 stars Ok. Book But Not Too Great
Wouldn't recommend this book if your a beginner. Some of the explanations that Joe Pettitt gives about car audio are not well described and there's no full detail. I believe by the time you finish reading this book you will have a better understanding about car audio, but I don't believe your understanding will be great enough to begin your own install though. I would recommend The Car Stereo Cookbook by Mark Rumreich over this book.

2-0 out of 5 stars Atrocious book
I wouldn't waste 1.00 at the local bookstore if this was on clearance. This book offered no real quality information in my opinion. I feel I wasted my money on this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars This is a darn good book on car audio!

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent resource for tenters
Anyone with a favorite campground knows the ritual of driving around with a map, circling the prime sites for future visits while crossing out those that don't make the grade. "The Best in Tent Camping: New England" basically does the same but for top parks across New England, taking much of the guesswork out of finding not only a great campground but also the best possible campsite.
1-0 out of 5 stars The Best in Tent Camping: New England
The prime reason anyone would buy this seemingly unreliable book is to find the best New England campites. However, the campsite numbers are incorrect. For instance, in the section on Lamoine State Park, the numbers on the campgound map do not match the official Maine State Park online map. In referring to the views of sites 48 through 54, the author states: "These are views of Frenchman's Bay and its islands worthy of the Rockfellers." The sites are not "along the road facing the ocean" and do not have such views. Due to such carelessness readers cannot rely on this book to make camping plans, some might infer. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Tongue in Cheek?I think not.
This book is written to sound tongue-in-cheek, but having lived and driven in Boston for two years, I can assure you it's not.I've seen every manuever described in this book, some of them by the Boston and Cambridge PD.For anyone moving to Boston, this should be required reading. It will teach you how to make Boston Left Turns, how to park in Back Bay, even how to cross a street as a pedestrian.Yes, it's amusing, but it's also a survival manual. (Oh, also get your car licence changed before you try any of these--out of towners get ticketed for these moves. For in-staters, about the only way to get a moving violation is to hit a pedestrian voter.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Getting around Boston can be a hairy business
Driving in Vancouver can be a dicey affair, as many of the drivers here are very strange and don't appear to know what they're doing. It annoys my wife even more than it does me. When my wife and I were looking over a list of books to review, The Boston Driver's Handbook: The Almost Post Big Dig Edition jumped out at my wife. "That should be funny," she said. So I asked for it. Does it live up to its promise? One thing I do know. After reading this book, driving in Boston sounds even worse than driving here. And that takes some doing!
5-0 out of 5 stars Am I really this bad a driver?
I always thought of myself as a good Step 9 driver: granted, it took me two tries to get my license, but I've had exactly one parking ticket, I've been pulled over exactly once and got off with a warning, and every dent and ding I've put into the car has been below the deductible and couldn't be reported to the insurance company. After reading this book, it seems I am a bigger psychotic behind the wheel than I had known.I never thought that most of the manuevers listed here were borderline vehicular suicide, and I was even taught how to do the Boston Left Turn (you pull halfway out into the road, blocking the traffic on your left until a car coming from the right lets you go) in driver's ed.A lot of the diagrams are hilarious (you'll never make sense of Brighton intersection dynamics), and they also include the obligatory pedestrian scoring scale (you don't want to be Tom Menino or Mitt Romney). The best part is the epilogue describing the future of Boston driving--by the end of this century, it will become an Olympic sport, and the Central Artery Tunnel will become a pedestrian shopping mall. ... A great book.I laughed all the way through the stories.Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bug Tales Review
I learned 3 things after reading "Bug tales"; most people "name" their beloved Vw,everybody has a Vw story of some sort to tell and always take a throttle cable with you where ever you go! This has got to be one of the most interesting collections of Vw stories ever compiled. You never know what is going to happen next. I laughed, I cried and was always surprised at the things that can happen in, around and on top of a Beetle! What makes this book so nice is the author is a Vw fanatic like the rest of us and contributes a couple of pretty wild stories of his own. Like the time the throttle cable broke on his friends bug. Paul ended up sitting on the back bumper working the throttle while his buddy yelled "shift!" when he changed gears. Believe it or not they made it to the repair shop that way! 4-0 out of 5 stars Great Book

5-0 out of 5 stars Know your rights
I am not an avocate of exceeding the posted speed limit as it is breaking the law. That said I like every other citizen of this country does just that, some more often than others.2-0 out of 5 stars Not Very Good...
This book is very hard to read and understand. Its full of all kind of legal and technical stuff. It does have helpful information but I found another book here on Amazon that read better and was full of great useful information. The book is called An Educated Guide To Speeding Tickets How to Beat and Avoid them, the author is Richard Wallace, the book is great and I bought it here on Amazon. You should to if you get a speeding ticket and need to fight it. The book seems to work based on the other reviews I have seen. I have not used it to beat a ticket but will should I ever get stopped. The author used to be a cop to! Thats Cool! This, of course, is just my opinion. You decide.

3-0 out of 5 stars Yes, but...
If you live in a state where the law protects its citizens from law enforcement abuses (speed traps, sloppy policework, outright lying) and judges handle motor vehicles cases fairly, this book could be very helpful. It's reasonably priced and packed with truly useful information. There's good stuff about how to avoid speeding tickets too. Unfortunately, there are many states where you can't even subpoena records in order to prepare your case. New York is one of them. How can you defend yourself without such a basic right? Answer: You can't. Most judges, especially at the level of traffic court, are hacks who couldn't care less about justice. Your community may be an exception to this disgraceful state of affairs. The best way to find out is to go to court BEFORE your court date and see how the cases are heard. Since crooked cops and judges are used to making "deals," you can hire another crook, an attorney, to bargain down your charge to something that will have less of an impact on your driving record and insurance. It's all very legal. My advice: Drive carefully, expect to be shaken down by the crooks, I mean cops, from time to time, and find out if, like California and Nevada, your state's laws treat these kinds of offenses fairly. If so - and you're willing to really work at it - take a shot at defending yourself if nothing more than for the experience of acting like a citizen for a free country. I think the book is outstanding, but it's no magic pill for this very common form of police and government harassment.... ... Read more

The best thing I like about Molloy's book is that it tells me a lot of great new places to explore. I found Montgomery Bell State Park and it was just like he described. My family and I enjoyed the lakes, trails and especially the campground. Buy this book if you to branch out and see some new sites in Tennessee and Kentucky!
