Clearly Communicates Used Car Buying Data
Buying a used car? I am. Buy the "Consumer Reports Used Car Buying Guide" first. In it, I found lists of "Good Bets," which are cars the authors consider to perform well over the years. That is guiding my purchase. I won't buy a car not listed there. I also found lists dividing reliable cars by price range, which cars have had recalls, unreliable models (by year), and detailed descriptions of the pros and cons of each vehicle.Read more

Very good Case guide.
The Illustrated Buyers' Guide to CASE Tractors has many good, vintage photos of CASE tractors in the field which show period implements, as well. The author includes serial number information, production numbers and details model changes. Ridiculous
Very convincing, but EXTREMELY LONG AND BLOATED!
Pros: Many good arguments, good history. Managed to convince me (a big one, for someone as stubborn as me).
Absolutely Ridiculous Premise
It amazes me how profound some authors want to sound, like they're blowing the whistle on something.They only want to make money.I can't believe that Mr. Bradsher thinks the SUV is dangerous of itself.Any vehicle in the hands of an unskilled, intemperant or immature driver is the problem, not the vehicle.Consistently quoting boring statistics make this one of the most unenjoyable books I've come across.I was relieved to know that I didn't have to finish it.If I were the editor of this mishmashed mangled monstrosity of banal reading, I would have redlined the whole thing after the first few paragraphs as 'UNPUBLISHABLE.'

If your looking for Pickup info this book would be ok, but to say Scout in the title is misleading. of the 130 pages, only 15 were scout & scout II related. NOT counting reproduced adds (blurry) there were only 3 photos of a Scout (I).All were front end shots and were not of any help.To be fair, the text contains interesting information, and a few more photos of scout II.Even those photos do little to support the text.Many times special packages are mentioned, but no info is given about these, other that upgraded seats or specal paint.Gosh a photo here would be helpful! detail in the pickup section much more thought out, scout seemed to be add on/marketing last minute thing. sorry ... general informationabout cars
discussions such as ticket jeopardy , four prices of a new car,when and how to buy cars........little technical information, however, if a woman is on her own and has no knowledge of how to buy a car this would be a good book to read.

Understand and converse about cars easily!
I got this book from my local library and soon decided it MUST be added to my collection. A great reference book, "Everything Women Always Wanted to Know about Cars..." speaks to women plainly and frankly withoutmaking us seem "stupid" or "girlie". There are picturesand diagrams of under the hood shots showing what the parts are called andwhere they usually reside. The author tackles the area of car buying andhow salesmen relate to female buyers, what tricks they use, how society ingeneral feels about women who drive. There are quotes from real women abouthow they feel about and in their cars, what cars they like the most, what acar represents to them, how cars aren't just for guys anymore! Some womenname their cars and love to joyride; some women take on mechanical areaswith ease and great interest. Women tell it like it is on everything fromwhat a car says about its driver to how to get men to take you seriouslywhen buying, selling, dealing with mechanics etc. This book covers justabout everything you need to know (hence the accurate title!) as a womanand a driver. It answers the questions you just felt too insecure to askyour father, brother or boyfriend about cars. The colors and organizationare attractive but not "too feminine" and the author presents notonly a woman's perspective of the automotive world, but lots of technicalterms and information as well. You are going to understand cars and be ableto hold your own in conversations about cars after you read this book!
