Informative Read
This book presents a lot of ideas for projects in a way that the average person could understand the level of difficulty involved and the tools and products necessary to complete them. Excellent full color photos. If you are a master mechanic or engine builder then this may not be challenging enough. However, if you own a Mustang in need of repairs or upgrades, then this is a great place to begin. Plus, being an old car magazine junkie, I recognized that the author was a former Editor of Super Ford and Mustang Monthly magazines. I would reccomend this book to anyone as a solid information guide.

Pretty Pictures, not much else
While the graphic presention in this book is excellent, the content is sorely lacking in detail. This is more of an idea book than an instructional one. Their rating system for degree of difficulty is completely innaccurate. Removing front coil springs is rated as more difficult than tasks like replacing the upper control arms (which require removing the front coil springs!) or even front rack and pinion conversions, which are extremely difficult. If you are looking for ideas on some possible projects, this is an OK book, although the information is widely available elsewhere. A Great Book for Fans of 1950's and 60's Drag Racing.
I have really enjoyed Larry Davis's book on Super Stock Drag Racing. This 210 page,hardbound book is packed with easy reading, informative text and hundreds of period photographs. Mr. Davis's book covers the golden era (1955 thru 1968) of stock drag racing, involving both private and factory sponsored cars. There is an appendix and glossary at the back of the book,covering the drivers, cars,drag strips,race classes and rules. This book is a must have for fans of vintage drag racing. Equally recommended is Larry Davis's companion book, GASSER WARS.

Relive the Glory Days of Drag Racing
If you loved drag racing during the 60's, particularly Super Stocks, then this book is for you. For Each year, it gives info on the cars (Chevy/Ford/Dodge/Plymouth/Pontiac) and who competed/won at the Major Drag Racing events. And it has lots of great pictures although I wish more were in color, most are just black and white. These were the Glory Years of Super Stock Drag Racing, intense competition and constant change.

too many stats, not enuf bolts
I bought this book and read it. I hate to say it but I was pretty disappointed.It was just a big pile of names and records, a stats freaks dream but nothing for me. I wanted to know aboout the cars, the engines, how exactly did they create an AWB. I wanted more tech stuff on the cars, not a bunch of names and times.Tech talk was pretty shallow in my opinion.I will say itis a visual treasure, lots of nice pictures of these cars, and a full color section too.Read more

Ford 1903-2003
I frequently go to hot rod shows and while I am fairly knowledgible of 1948 and up I wanted a referece for the early years.I enjoy the pictures to compare years and the production counts by year, model and engine etc.

A must for Ford Fans!
This book is a very well organized catalog of all FoMoCo vehicles (except truck based vehicles) from the company's early years to 2002 models.Each model is listed with a good description of options, engine choices, production numbers, historical notes, etc. Overall the book is informative and interesting. A cleaverly package book. Nice pictures of old Valentines, however using one with a questionable picture spoils the entire book.

CHEVELLE SS RESTORATION GUIDE
This is a very good source for anyone wanting to know the ins and outs of trying to restore a classic muscle car. A very nice to gift for that muscle car enthusist.

Lots of misinformation
Having restored a number of Chevrolets to showroom condition, I found Paul's book a sea of misinformation.Pictures with wrong dialog, incorrect and invalid part numbers and hard to decypher copy.Too bad this is the only book available for the Chevelle fan.You can actually get better info from the well-documented Camaro boys and probably be more accurate than what Paul is advising.If you use this book in your resto, take it with a grain of salt and double check your part numbers with the abundance of Chevelle web site info.This book sorely needs re-written... more carefully!!!

A GREAT book for all Shark owners!!
As an owner of a 1981 Corvette looking to learn more about his Shark, and the restoration process in general, I found this book to be an outstanding addition to my Corvette library.
