Good book
I rec'd this book as a gift and learned a great deal about the history of this car.The authors' passion for the subject matter is apparent and infectious!I especially enjoyed the sidebars with personal insights into the politics surrounding the vehicles background.
Very informative
I have owned and restored GTO's before they became popular.Having heard all the 'other' hype from magazines and having read 'Glory Days', I have always felt there was another side of the story.This book answers a lot of those questions, and makes a lot of sense.A great read, I could not put it down.The first reviewer must have some kind of personal vendetta against either the writter or the subject of the book, or maybe both to slander the book such in his review! A must read for any 60's musclecar enthusiast!

Restorer's Model A Shop Manual by Jim Schild
This is a "nuts and bolts" manual designed for "hands-on" restorers...romance novel, comic book and bathroom coffee table book readers need not apply.I personally restored and assembled an early 1928 Model A Phaeton using this book as my primary reference source combined with the Model A Judging Standards and Ford Service Bulletins.My car wouldn't be together without the extremely accurate instructions, plentiful illustrations and references.This is, by far, the best reference manual available on the Ford Model A, hands down!!!This book is from a fellow who has obviously restored quite a few cars and knows what he's talking about.One strives for accuracy but as time elapses, more is forgotten so you use multiple sources and cross reference.This book, however, is the definitive basis for all others...start here, you won't be disappointed with this essential "tool" for restoring your Model A.Torque specs, tool info., lubrication information, helpful hints abound in this step-by-step book.A must buy for the restorer!!!Truly magnificent!

Usless as a real guide
This book was purchased a couple of years ago in the hope it would give me some help and insight into the world of the Ford Model A and how to "bring it back". I thought it was poorly and amateurishly written then and after looking at it again last night, think it is even worse than that!! If you are working on an early 1928 car it may have some use. Very enjoyable !
This book is a very good pictorial record of F1 from the 50's up to 21st century. Although somewhat concentrated on the latest Schumacher era, it takes one back to the early and romantic times of Clark, Stewart, Fittipaldi, Peterson, Lauda, Piquet, Senna and many other great drivers. It brings some nice photographic material of people and machines that makes it a very enjoyable book.

Fun book with excellent explanations
There is one aspect of this book that makes it extra valuable: Scott Robertson. Not only is he a master in perspective drawing. What makes Scott stand out is his ability to explain this in simple exercises and make you want to practise and understand. Don't waste your money
This has to be the worst price guide I have ever seen. Forget about the values not even being close, the Ertl listing has so many errors its pathetic. Several of the cars listed are 1/43, Not 1/18, and are listed as 1/18, colors listed that were never made it goes on and on.
Standard guide to 1:18 Scale die-cast cars
After waiting for more than 9 months to get this book I was very disappointed after using Cast-car publication by Dan Boyd.The descriptions were very short and in most cases uninformative.I looked up 20 cars immediately from Ertl, Exact detail for Lane, Carousel, and Burago and Supercars (NO AutoArt) only to find 6 out of 20 and these are olderthan 2001 and could not be found.Very disappointing.All models did not have photos as Cast-Car Publications and the descriptions and details are sketchy or non existent, which is one of the values of the Cast-Car Publication.It does have more 1:18 scale models than any other Manual at this time and the $ VALUESthat were assigned I found to be from a little low to extremely low even for an eBay auction.Some of the values assigned to very limited edition cars that even by todays standards are rare or hard to find are lower than what they sold new for and are bringing more than the values given to them in this publication.For example 1969 Grumpy's Toy Camaro SSC, 1969 Yenko Nova #1 Issue, Yenko Camaros #'s 1 & #2 are all listed at a ridiculous $60.00, the GMP Grumpys Toy Nova is also listed at $60.00, and Lanes 1967 Grumpy's Toy is listed as a $60.00 value.I WOULD BUY ANY OF THESE AT THE VALUE STATED IN THIS GUIDE AS MANY AS I COULD GET MY HANDS ON AND MAKE GREAT MARK-UP.WHERE DID THEY GET THESE VALUES???These are only a few of the many glaring errors I found in an initial 30 minute review. Except for photos in the guide I found it exteremely lacking in why I made the purchase. ...like a good wine
Although 100 years old, it has great potential as a technical reference for small mechanism design as well as bicycles.

Wow - I never expected....
Honestly, I have studied some of the older bikes, like highwheelers and the safeties and even the racing frames used by 6-day racers like Major (Marshall) Taylor... and I honestly thought most of the early bikes were designed by luck and a prayer.
Still useful today
One of Sharp's goals was to debunk the truly awful designs of his day, and hopefully bring about their demise.When the book was written, the "ordinary" had only recently given way to the "safety," and the proliferation of designs described here is truly mind-boggling.As a historical record of early bicycle design, no other book even comes remotely close.The technical section is thorough enough to qualify as an engineering textbook, and needs no updating.The section on the design of individual components is of course limited by what was available at the time, but nevertheless is still of interest.After the numerous references to this book in Mike Burrows' "Bicycle Design," I had searched unsuccessfully for years for a used copy.The reissuance of Sharp at a reasonable price shouldn't be passed up by anyone with even a passing interest in bicycle design and history.Be forewarned:this is a faithful facsimile of the original, and as such, the typeface isn't as clear as what we're used to nowadays.We're lucky that the book is available at all, and this edition is undoubtably superior in appearance to an original (assuming you can even find one). ... From Orville Wright Himself...
I hate to confess that I didn't even know that the Wright Brothers had written anything later in life.This was so great to read about how Orville Wright and his brother and family really felt about their quest. A Dream Come True!

Okay, but numerous mistakes
Mr. Vossler's task was daunting:list all the variations of John Deere toys that are known to exist, associate nearly 1400 photographs with the individual toy, and set a value range for each item.The value range for most toys is appropriate.Unfortunately, several listings are duplicates and nearly one photograph per page does not match the description.This book needed to be reviewed by one of the many collectors knowledgeable on John Deere toys before being published.Read more

Trip down 'memory lane'!Fantastic field guide!
This great little book will transport you back to a time where 475 horsepower V8 American 'muscle cars' cost about 3 to 4 thousand dollars, and did 0-60 in 6 seconds or under!If words like 'Hemi', 'Ram Air', and 'Rocket 455' give you goosebumps, you know what I mean.Excellent full page photos and stats as well!Easily 5 stars.

Mopar fans - DO NOT buy this book. It is full of numerous errors. The Author and Publisher should be ashamed. Just proves anyone can write a book!

The book to own and to read for the real 356-fanatic
112 pages and lots of very nice photographs (about 200), all in colour. The text is nicely wrapped around the photographs. The photographs are all especially made for this book, so they are all new and unpublishedbefore. Great photos of a classic!
This book has very nice pictures of the 356.There are, however, few of the US specification Porsche.The book, being a British publication, has a lot of photos of cars produced for the UK market.There are some reallybeautiful cars to drool over in here!

A PERSONAL ACCOUNT OF HISTORY OF THE MARQUE
Being a child of the sixties and growing up as a fan of sports car racing during that era, this book truly brings the personal side of Jim Hall and his Chaparrals to the fore-front. Jim Freidman does an exceptional job in his writing as well as candid photography of the racing team during that glorious period. Ford Mustang 1964-1/2 to 1973
Overall a nice picture reference.Only Mustang book I've seen with undercarriage references along with wheel hub and brake photos.Lacks descriptions of option packages (i.e. what you get with a Mach 1 or a GT or how to identify same).

I've learned more then I could of imagined from this book. I've read it twice, and I'm starting on it again.

Really nice restoration book! I have a 68 Charger R/T and look forward to starting the resto using this book as a guide. While no book could cover every obsticle you may encounter, this book gives a very good idea of what you will face and how to fix it.
