Ed Klein is really so desperate in his attack that he can't find any one person who will use their names in the attacks against Hillary!
Singularly shallow and one-sided
There is frankly no 'truth' to be found in this publication.Aside from the previously circulated speculation regarding Hillary Clinton's political aspirations and orentation, her knowledge of and duplicity inside the Lewinsky affair, and her march to the Senate, this work is void of anything but base conjecture and one-sided analyses which offer no depth and villify the women's movement in 21st century America at large.
On the mark!
Excellent book, if a little extreme in some of the salacious details.Raises the question, do we really want this woman to be our first woman President?She was blind enough not to notice boxes of subpoenaed Whitewater documents in her personal quarters in the White House and surprised by repeat offender Bill's admission of infidelity with Monica.Blind and gullible are not impressive traits for the highest office in the land. ... An excellent though disturbing read...
Years from now we'll look back in wonder about how politicians in 2006 could take money, gifts, and free vacations from lobbyists and corporations with business before congress. In any other country they'd call these actions bribery and payola. In America we call it freedom of speech. These people should be thrown in jail, not re-elected.
BIASED LOOK AT MONEY IN POLITICS
The entire book is basically bashing Bush on ways that he obtained fortune through politics.All evidince in the book is subjective.Sifry is a hardcore liberal, and feels that we need to get Bush out of the White House; so if you feel the same way, read this book and Sifry will brainwash you into hating Bush more than you already do.

Surprisingly Interesting
I don't read politic books very often. I was recommended this one due to the author's great reputation. He gives this subject a very young, fresh edge.

A Brilliant Professor
After reading the reviews of this book, it struck me as humerous because the way Zelizer writes is exactly how he teaches.I had the pleasure of being in his American History course this past year and he was one of the most interesting and fascinating professors I have ever had.He made me not only interested in history (which I never was previously), but he made me passionate about it.A brilliant writer and professor... I highly recommend him and hold him in the highest of esteems.

This is a wonderful book
I saw this guy on C-SPAN a few days ago with Brian Lamb so decided to buy the book. it is one of the best books I have read in decades about politics (and I am political junkie guy constantly reading this stuff). It is sweeping history of how Congress changed in the 1970s and what is going on today. The book has lots of intellectual heft, but it is written in fun and easy to understand style. This guy has very interesting points to make about how conservatives have done so well. There is a chapter on scandal and the Watergate Babies and reforms that was just brilliant. I hope more people read this book and have this guy on their show.Can't think of another book like it.

Great gift for any father
This book may be one of the most practical examples of how to integrate one's faith with one's life - Ashcroft writes about how his own father took every opportunity, from the bizarre to the mundane, to teach John about God and the truths of Scripture.The stories are sometimes humorous, but always profound and moving - it really is an outstanding read, especially for dads with sons.
Lessons from a Father to his son
Ashcroft paints a Proverbs-like portrait of his dad's wisdom. You get the feeling that he wasn't around very much, but had a profound insight in instilling the most important life lessons in his children. It's a wonderful book for fathers who know the importance of the position God has entrusted them with, and I highly recommend it.

A moral compass--two amazing men!
In light of his role in the government at this time, it was enlightening and refreshing to read that John Ashcroft had such a great Christian upbringing. The lessons he learned from his father have served him well in public life. This book seems to strive not so much to give an autobiography of John D. Ashcroft, but to show how much his father influenced his life. It is an example to all Christian fathers. Even if the reader might not be a fundamentalist Christian, he or she will learn what an influence one person can be in the life of another. Excellent book! ... Read more

Great for scholars and casual observers alike

Useless trivial stories
This book is just a collection of useless trivial stories that have that "touchy feeley" style Karen O'Connor is known for.None of her information is verifiable and none of it helps understand how to run and win in congress.It's a lot of "they thought I couldn't do it, but I showed them" type stores.Waste of time!

A fine book on Civil War General Dan Sickles!
This now hard-to-find book is a fine short account of the life of the notorious Civil War politician/general, Daniel E. Factual, Informative, but rather dry at times.
I was a student in a class called "The Modern Presidency", and we used this as one of our textbooks.I found the "historical" chapters, about Carter, Reagan, etc. to be entertaining and very insightful, but I found the rest of the book to be rather dull at times.Jones' work is factually correct, and he makes valid observations, but it's not a page-turner, that's for sure. ...
