5-0 out of 5 stars who did murphy make mad in chi-town?
i don't get it. who did mr. murohy piss off in illinois? come on people, at least the guy got a book published. all you can do is waste your time sitting around, making up names, and writing bad reviews. it was a interesting take on this awful time in our beloved american history. hey wait, arn't most of them awful anyway? get a life people.

1-0 out of 5 stars It's Keanu REEVES, not REAVES!
This is the one thing that PLAGUED me while reading this book. Oooh... the characters in the Matrix wore trenchcoats and Harris & Klebold loved the Matrix, so that's why they wore trenchcoats! Guess what, so do Hassidic Jews! So do people when it's raining! And it's not Samuel L. Jackson in the Matrix, it's Laurence Fishburne... you'd think Murphy would get at least that information right with all the facts he cited from the wondrous internet he recently discovered.

Good God! Why didn't the contingent from Chicago designate one person to be the official reviewer?Blah Blah Blah Blah.I am sorry that it sounds like you HAD to read this book, and I can see why you didn't like it, but come on. 59 reviews? And let me just say this to some, not all, of you reviewers : from a guy who isn't a wizard at spelling himself, a few of you are living in glass houses when it comes to grammar and spelling.Check back and see if I'm lying. At least you're reading. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Help Wanted:Editor
This book could use a good editor and a good re-write.While the small part of the book I actually read was OK in content, there seemed to be a lot of repetition, and a scattershot approach to the presentation. After just under a hundred pages, I gave up.

It's the story of the man who has seen the man who has seen the man who has seen the man who has seen the man ........who knows the man that has seen the greys.
4-0 out of 5 stars DIFFERENT
I ENJOYED THE READ. DID THIS HAPPEN? COULD THIS HAPPEN? IT WILL MAKE YOU THINK.......

5-0 out of 5 stars Unique...Let's just say that.
It is written acceptably, and the subject matter is certainly "out there".But, if you discard the flimsy cover material and look at the content, it is a great read.If this was all made up...it would be a great read.If this is all true it is even a greater read.I found it interesting and compelling. My initial reaction to it was astonishment that someone would publish such a crazy work. But now, after reading it, I am not so sure.Certainly a worth while read.Well...shall I be comfortable in my ignorance or, shall I know the truth about our world?Read this book and make up your own mind. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Giancana, but not Giancana alone.
This is an outstanding book. It reads nicely and easily and gives a good overview of the case, also for beginners. This should not come as a surprise from me as I conversed a lot with author John Hughes and shared some of my research and materials for this book. Nevertheless a few tiny errors slipped into the last two chapters that deal with confessed grassy knoll shooter James E. Files. Such as that he used a .221 bullet, while in fact it was a .222 bullet. But these small errors are forgivable since they don't take away from the big picture, although the involvement of the CIA and the highest elements of US government could have been emphasized more. But then again, any child can grasp that Organized Crime alone could not have executed this coup d' état, not to mention its cover-up.
5-0 out of 5 stars Who knew?
Absolutely astonishing.Being new to the whole Kennedy assignation field of study this book was my first introduction to this intriguing subject.I was so fascinated by the information presented by the book I was even inspired to purchase the DVD of the taped interview with "Deadeye".I would highly recommend this book largely due to the fact it has kindled an interest in me I never thought I would have.I am still amazed at the idea that the man responsible for the shooting of JFK is alive and well in a prison in Joliet, IL.Even more remarkable is the thought that the world doesn't know ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Microwave Mind Control DOES exist
Although I am a tad sceptical of anyone with alleged CIA connections writing a book and claiming the truth...not because of conspiracy theories, more like because insiders on this stuff split the truth so much I often wonder if they remember what the truth really is.
1-0 out of 5 stars Hmmm.
Commander X is like so right dude. One time after taking bong hits my dog told me to look out of the window and sure enough Brown people were floating outside in the air. The next morning I felt pretty groggy and later found out that our septic tank had exploded. Weird.

5-0 out of 5 stars WE ARE BUT SHEEP BEING LEAD TO SLAUGHTER. . .
Ever have the feeling someone is looking over your shoulder? That someone is reading your mail - or listening to what you have to say over the telephone?NO! Its not the CIA or even the New World Order -- cause reality is a lot stranger than even the most paranoid among us has been made to believe. All around us are DARK DIMENSIONS where beings of negativity hide and try to do us harm and control our very existence.According to Commander X there are numerous entities which exist all around us, but remain UNSEEN. Some of these beings are actually working together to control our thinking and belief system = and have been doing so since the dawn of creation. Its all very bizarre -- and to some may seem like utter nonsense -- but the good Commander makes it all sound very believable. I guess its up to the reader to decide how controlled we really are! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A Chillingly Good Book
This is an extremely well-written and documented book. I especially liked the foot-noted references that allow the reader to check the facts for themselves. If the average citizen thinks the FBI and CIA are providing meaningful security to the USA, this book will make one think again. After reading this book, I also read "1000 Years for Revenge". That book finished filling in the blanks. I suggest they both be read to get the whole picture. There is no doubt in my mind that the US will be attacked again, and that government agencies have been put under so many constraints that they will never be able to stop it. Read these two books. Your hair will stand on end.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Work
Since 9/11, I have watched our leaders expend human and material resources in an obviously wasteful and non-productive manner. It is clear that they did not take adequate measures to insure our national security. We have and continue to pay a dear price for their negligence. Appropriate, necessary action can only be taken if we know the truth about what happened and who the players were and are. Official government channels have not been forthcoming with this information. We have been left misinformed and vulnerable. We must know the truth in order to plan intelligently. Peter Lance has provided us with a great resource. He has presented us with chilling new information in a well documented, dispationate, non-partisan manner. We are all in his debt. I urge you to read this book and become active in getting you elected leaders to do the same.

3-0 out of 5 stars Half a book.

This book clearly shows man's ability to use science for evil knows no bounds. What I truly don't understand is why none of the "testing" people are in prison.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Shocking Expose Relevant in Today's World
And you thought that horrible "medical" experiments on humans only took place in Germany and Japan during World War II?This exhaustively researched and documented book about using prisoners in Pennsylvania as guinea pigs to test the safety and efficacy of various types of medical, pharmacutical, cosmetic, and military products during the post-war years was an enormous surprise to this reader.
2-0 out of 5 stars Fluff
My god man. How much fluff can you put into one book. Mr. Hornblum, I have so much information to attain and so many books waiting on a list to be read that anything with useless time wasting fluff, aka long drawn out paragraphs, automatically goes on my "how not to write a book" list. I am sorry but your book made me more frustrated than enlightened, with all of your redundant repeats of what people said, told in eight differing ways, I am not sure if you thought the audience needed this much repeating or if you just needed to add a couple 20 pages to the final draft for appearances. But nonetheless I cannot sit and waste my precious time reading words of nothingness when there is an eternity of usefull information sitting out there waiting for me. *No arrogance intended, "I" as in us, humans.* I just don't see any excuse for this. Out of the 100% of book I would say there is about 25-35% of usefull concise information in it. Au Revoir` ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Uncle Sam's Asylum
I read this in 1999 and found it to be an accurate primer for those who have long suspected that things in America aren't quite 'right'. Having undergone 30+ years of non-consensual experimentation, harassment, stalking and other crimes here in the US, I can recommend this book to others who may just be coming to the realization that they, too, are under attack.
5-0 out of 5 stars I Believe This
although I hate to admit it because it is not a popular belief to hold.I remember listening to the Candy Jones radio show in which she was very cautious to mention that this happened to her, partially because of damage to her reputation as a radio talk show host and partially out of fear of the governmental types who did this to her without her knowledge or consent.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent work by Fetzer
This book describes the results of painstaking work by Fetzer and others, using simple tools of geometry and measurements of the still-existing concrete structures at Dealey Plaza in Dallas, to prove that the Zapruder film was heavily and professionally modified to show an incorrect series of events.
1-0 out of 5 stars The unaware Zapruder filmed a closed-set staged-event.
It was filmed before a live audience .When some of the "witnesses", didn't respond to the gunshots and the aftermath,it just adds credence to a vast conspiracy theory.Zapruder handed over the film. And had to legally fight to get it back. The filmed shooting clearly shows the upper-right side of JFK's head ,being removed. So,why were the released autopsy photos, showing an exit wound having grazed the very top right-side of JFK's head? Two top autopsy doctors reported that JFK's top right-side and brain were imploded and expeled onto the limo's trunk.Later, their stories were recanted and rectified to stating that Kennedy's brain was removed and stored for further examination. When RFK found out about this,he ordered it returned.Yet,the doctors then stated the JFK brain was now "lost and misplaced" . It appears that the CIA monkeyed with the Zapruder film, by removing some frames. The film clearly shows JFK being hit ,from the back ,reaching for his throat, bullit possibly going forward to hit Connelly's back scapula and raising wrist. All body-hits in a split second ,at close-range and at street level. The close-range shot did not impede the bullit's progress. This adds support to a police-escourt shooter ,being involved. Zapruder seemed shakened by the whole experience.I think some of audience,at the Ford's Theatre 1865,also knew the evening's comedy would unfold into live tragedy, before their very eyes.

1-0 out of 5 stars JAMES FETZER'S THE GREAT ZAPRUDER FILM HOAX : COMMENT BY JOHN CHUCKMAN
There can be no review of a book this bad. Fetzer has cut-and-pasted together a series of these horrid little volumes, hoping the catchy titles sell a few thousand copies to the unsuspecting curious.

1-0 out of 5 stars Avoid
The author claims that God "spoke a vision" from heaven to him (I know, that makes no sense) to create a "Jerusalem Prayer Team" which interestingly, includes Tim Lahaye, the one who claims that there will be a pre-trib rapture using emotionalism as evidence in addition to verses he takes out of context (if you don't believe me read his explanations.)

4-0 out of 5 stars What was really going on?
Isikoff takes the reader into the inner machinations of the Clinton White House. There is often a tendency to cricify reporters who write on such subject matter, administrations it seems, will continually try to thwart the efforts of dogged reporters.Such is one of the many cat and mouse games of Washington.I will not question Isakoff's authority as a journalist, he has apparently done the legwork and homework that could permit him to write this story. This story is a unique sidebar in the administration's attempts to keep scandal at bay by insighting more scandal, the notorious mistake of presidents past and present.History will determine Clinton's legacy, this book furnishes one of its blemishes.
1-0 out of 5 stars More World Weakly News than Newsweek
Poor Michael Isikoff couldn't get a job at the more presigious World Weakly News, instead Newsweek hired him at a bargain rate. And it shows in this boring, half witted book that was written for feebs.

3-0 out of 5 stars Five years later: big story, big ego
The fifth anniversary of the Monica Lewinsky scandal came and went without little media coverage or public reaction. People seem to have forgotten how the whole world briefly revolved around a blue dress and Newsweek reporter Michael Isikoff. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars The right wing sucks
The right wing does not make any sense. How does ignoring scientific evidence, denying people their constitutional rights, and having a very narrow view on issues such as abortion improve our society?Leave our country alone!

5-0 out of 5 stars Concise book covers lots of territory
Yes, this is a brief book. But I don't necessarily agree that lack of quantity leads to lack of quality.

3-0 out of 5 stars Oiling the wheels of politics...
Investigative journalist Robert Bryce looks at the past and present of corporate welfare, Texas style, in this easy to read and relevant volume.
5-0 out of 5 stars Every Crony's Big in Texas
Robert Bryce's previous book, Pipe Dreams, was a brilliant and rampaging indictment of corporate hubris, and that led into this book about the Texas energy industry's influence on modern American politics. This one tackles wider-ranging issues, and consequently is a little less powerful, although Bryce is a strong investigative journalist who is great at finding patterns and influences hidden beneath vast trends of politics and finance. Not only do Texas politicians and their cronies hold unprecedented power these days, but a uniquely Texas-style form of governance has taken over in Washington. Bryce begins his study in the early 20th century when the oil barons in Texas started to gain political power that reached far beyond the local oil fields. And Bryce's major investigative breakthrough here is in how the current neoconservative philosophy of government is directly descended from old Texas wheeling and dealing that empowered filthy rich oil plutocrats.
4-0 out of 5 stars The real bellwether state
It has often been said that California is a bellwhether state, in that it sets trends that are followed by the rest of the US.In terms of culture and entertainment, this is true, but in terms of politics and economics, I would give that title to Texas after reading this book.

3-0 out of 5 stars The Collision of Bigotry & Greatness.
A Deluded Southern Sympathizer:
5-0 out of 5 stars Lincoln and his security (or lack of ) was well detailed here.
I've always been intrigued by the poor security given to the President during, literally, a time of civil war."Lincoln and Booth" spent a good time on the characters and situations involved with this matter. What was also excellent was the questions posed by Winkler regarding the guard who accompanied Lincoln to Ford's theater, both prior to and after the assassination. It adds to the notion of conspiracy surrounding Lincoln's killing.

4-0 out of 5 stars LINCOLN AND BOOTH
While not always an exciting read, LINCOLN AND BOOTH will give the reader lots to ponder regarding the various characters surrounding the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Author H. Donald Winkler has done extensive research and provides lots of insight into the major and minor players in the assassination of President Lincoln and the subsequent investigation. Winkler is obviously passionately interested in his subjects and some of his revelations are shocking. Were certain officials in the US Government actually Confederate sympathizers? Was Lincoln's Secretary of War, Edwin Stanton, part of the conspiracy? Stanton rushed to prosecute and execute 4 conspirators while ignoring others who played important roles in the conspiracy. Did he refuse clemency to the first female executed by the US government knowing she may have only been a minor player in the conspiracy? Did the assassination involve more than a handful of conspirators or does the path lead back to the White House and even the Confederate government? His research is extensive and there is plenty of fuel for thought but no conclusive answers the mystery of the conspiracy. Stories of missing documents and diaries fuel the conjecture. The suggestion that there was a much larger conspiracy is overwhelmingly strong. LINCOLN AND BOOTH iswell worth a read for anyone interested in this fascinating period of history. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The suppression of domestic dissent by the FBI
This book maintains that the primary purpose of the FBI, from its inception and at least through to the late 1980s when Agents of Repression was first published, was to repress political groups and individuals who posed a threat to the status quo. The text is accompanied by heavy documentation and I was often reminded of the writing style of Noam Chomsky and Edward Herman. The focus here, however, is on the domestic crimes of the government. Churchell and Vander Wall show that the FBI was willing to use massive illegal force (including assasination) to repress political enemies and serve the interests of those in power. This is an excellent eye-opener to the true nature of the Bureau and the harsh crimes visited upon the American Indian Movement, the Black Panther Party and others such as the Puerto Rican Independence Movement. One is left wondering what activities the FBI has engaged in since the '80s and especially since 9/11. The best book I've read in some time. ... Read more
