4-0 out of 5 stars ...And justice for all
What an amazing read; I had this book saved on my wish list entirely TOO LONG.I was intrigued when I first heard of the case on ABC's 20/20 program and Nate's book was a sparkling expose.
4-0 out of 5 stars A good book
Nate Blakeslee's "Tulia" tells the story of the small town of Tulia, Texas, where one white man was able to arrest over forty black men (and women) with almost no evidence and no documentation of their alleged crimes.
4-0 out of 5 stars Tulia
I found this to be riviting reading. The writer gives us a glimpse into the lives of many people in Tulia. After reading the book, we feel that we know these people.A good job of covering the whole story.

I bought the original Conspiracy X book several years ago and greatly enjoyed the backstory, which details a decades-long battle between two super-secret United States shadow organizations, called Aegis and the National Defense Directorate.

5-0 out of 5 stars Useful study of Iraq's disarmament

4-0 out of 5 stars Iraq Confidential
The book gives good insight into of the runup to the Iraq war and to why we are in such of a mess now in Iraq. The information presented does indeed make one mad because of the many lies that our Government has told us during two administrations.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth the read, remember the context
I'd love to read a few memoirs from other key actors in Ritter's spy drama.Obviously he's got one big grudge against the CIA as run by the Bushes and Clinton, and possibly with very good reason, but it would be nice to hear some of these stories from other perspectives.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book could save the USA
David Ray Griffin has written the most intelligent book on the events of 9/11. He is retired Professor Emeritus of Theology from Claremont College. He has no ulterior motive to risk his reputation. If you read anything about 9/11 let it be this book.
1-0 out of 5 stars Crackpot Amateur Quackery
Reading these reviews by people who obviously know little about the collapse of the World Trade Center, and having been exposed to Griffin's quackery, I felt the need to shine some light on this quixotic crusade of Griffin's and others'.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gail Eisnitz is My Hero.
I'm a college vegetarian here at Iowa State University. Right in the heart of pork country. There are more than 45 million pigs here and aprox. 3 Million people. That's 15 hogs per person or more. Animals that excrete twice as much waste as people. I'm so happy i went vegetarian 5 years ago.. but After reading this investigative report I still felt alone.
5-0 out of 5 stars Another reason to go veg
Is it possible to become informed of the attrocities being committed by the USDA and animal/meat handlers in the USA without changing our own behavior as consumers? Anyone who becomes aware of the cruel slaughter of farm animals, the disease-littered meat reaching our supermarkets, and the environmental impact that all of this is having on our planet would be nihilistic not to change his ways.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Story of the Corrupt FDA
This is a very fine book.Eustace Mullins is an expert researcher.Previous to this book he was the FIRST person to reveal the true nature of the Federal Reserve (which has nothing to do with Federal). In this book he details the history of how control of the medicinal market has been won by the FDA and the AMA (and similar organizations in other Nations), and how the healing of citizens has been put in the hands of the Government rather than in the hands of the citizens themselves.Their choices for treatment have been downsized to that of Allopathic medicine, a way of trreatment that is relatively new, only a few hundred years old, if at that, as compared to medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years. This book details the methods used by the Rockefellers to control the medicinal market to their advantage. It also guarantees a level of population control....read on!You will be surprised! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Real History
When Ronald Radosh and Joyce Milton began the research for this book, many people across the political spectrum became uncomfortable. That is because this is an actual work of history, rather than an ideological screed masquerading as history.Radosh and Milton have been faithful to the historian's profession:they have interviewed, they have researched, and they have made an honest, ethical attempt to answer the crucial historical question:"What really happened?"
4-0 out of 5 stars Stop apologizing, start reading
The Rosenberg case has faded with time and turned into a diffuse urban legend.Facts are rarely possessed by those who are most vehement about the case. This book puts an end to the hodge-podge of information that led some people to believe the Rosenbergs were innocents framed by the government. The truth is that they were spies, they were communists, and they engaged in treason. The Soviets would have acquired The Bomb with or without the Rosenbergs. That doesn't mitigate their guilt for hastening the information to our enemy. The Rosenbergs weren't tried for what they believed. They were tried for what they did.And they were killed for what they did not do--which was recant.Sworn communists, they chose death instead of life.A selfish, stupid choice that placed a worthless ideology over the needs of their two young children, who have written worthwhile books about growing up as orphans of two of the most infamous American traitors. This book ends the speculation that they were innocent, that they had no chance to save their lives by recanting. Here are the latest facts and the fullest account of a chapter in American history that continues to be a vital flashpoint for people on either side of the political spectrum.

5-0 out of 5 stars Read both this book and The Brother by Sam Roberts
The Radosh book concerning the Rosenberg case is a much fuller and more comprehensive treatment of the case than is the more recent book, The Brother, by Sam Roberts. The Brother is based on the current recollections of Ethel Rosenberg's brother David Greenglass who fingered both Ethel and Julius in testimony.David also served a number of years for espionage, himself, as part of same case.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Understanding the structure & characters of "Julius Caesar"
James Vickers' Cliffs Notes for Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" begins with a short biography of the Bard that focuses on what little the historical record tells us about the man.A Brief Synopsis of the Play is followed by a List of Characters that not only tells us who they are but their primary roles in the play. The Summary and Commentary section of the volume breaks down the play scene by scene, and the best way of using this or any other little yellow book with the black stripes is to read the commentary after you have read each scene of the play. This is especially important with Shakespeare because the dialogue is so important and Vickers does not work in as many choice lines as some of the other Cliffs Notes for Shakespeare plays. You cannot deal with Shakespeare if you do not know the key lines. The last section dealing with Character Analyses looks as Caesar, Antony, Octavius, Brutus and Cassius, referring back to the analysis already established regarding the individual scenes. What you will not get from this volume if you are teaching/reading "Julius Caesar" is how the play touches upon the political realities of Elizabethean England. But Vickers does an excellent job throughout of capturing how Shakespeare uses the play to manipulate the audience.Remember, the celebrated funeral oration by Marc Antony is being listened to on stage by a Roman mob that is being watched by an audience of Londoners in the theater. This is one of the better jobs at capturing how Shakespeare constructed a play. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars I would not buy this book
If you are looking for new material about Tesla, do not buy this book. The only thing that is told about these so called lost journals is that they are lost (stolen by MIBs, of course)! The rest of the book is a compendium of conspiracy theories using Tesla's name as a come on for you to keep reading. After a few pages, it gets very boring. In summary, no new material here, just Tesla's name used to get you to read the authors' conspiracy theories.

1-0 out of 5 stars Sadly, a disappointment
Not recommended. Although it is difficult to parse, it seems that the main thrust of this book is an attempt to sensationalize a "conspiracy" to suppress Tesla's inventions. Tesla's contributions related to the development of A/C power generation, distribution and utilization are actually well-known in the scientific and engineering communities. Also well-known is the stigma his unconventional methods, his probable mental illness, and not least his views on extraterrestrial intelligence attached to his work. No doubt some of his inventions were classified after WWII, as was the work of many others - not much of a conspiracy. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Thanks to the missing .75 cents...
We get an incredibly engaging page-turner of an astronomer/system manager tracking down a foreign hacker. Cliff Stoll genuinely struggles and questions his own actions not knowing whether he is doggedly tracing some hapless student or a nefarious spy. In the end he overcomes his Berkeley counterculture distrust of all those three letter gov't agencies and develops a respect for their work if not their inability to coordinate or communicate interdepartmentally. He becomes a security expert they all seek but laments the lack of openness and the attack on trust that is required in the academic world in order to facilitate networking and the exchange of ideas. A really good story and there is a pretty good recipe for chocolate cookies on page 155.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice reading with good technical coverage
"The Cuckoo's Egg" is a good book on computer hacking and espionage . It covers well all technical aspects involved in the case, stuff like UNIX, Tymnet and the very begining of system cracking.

2-0 out of 5 stars Dull, Boring, Inaccurate in Places and Out of Date Investigation into the Drug Industry
I found this book a real grind to read. It consists of page after page of seemingly unconnected names, places, big amounts of money, and I just found myself getting bored with it all. The bulk of the book is material from the 1978 edition so there are lots of references to Jimmy Carter. I think there could be a good book written on this subject what with all the stuff that's been happening lately in Afghanistan and Colombia, so maybe if a revised edition came out then it might be a bit more interesting. The only interesting section for me was the section on how the British first launched the Opium Wars on China; I would have liked to have learned about this at school.
4-0 out of 5 stars Penetrating Historical Analysis
Although the Larouchies have done some speculative work, this is not entirely of a low-grade quality. In fact, much of the historical information on the Opium Wars is widely known and accurate. Before disregarding EIR, because of their solution to world problems is bigger global government, give this book a close read.It points in the right direction and read in combination with other similar works it can really cause an awakening.

1-0 out of 5 stars Increase the War on Drugs?
From what little i read of the book i found it to be overly dramatic....The writer, ... makes the conviction that if the american people don't move to quickly crush the international drug mafia, the US and Western Civilization will fall into a new dark age.He goes on to say we need to launch a full-scale War on Drugs as the Allied nations used to defeat Nazism.I have no doubts that many governments are involved with the mafia and drugs, but my view is for legalization and not increasing the "lost cause" on drugs. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Random Acts of Nonsense
This "book" is an amalgamation of rumors, half-truths and legends that have circled this subject for years. Anectodes from "M.J.", "the informant" , "Mr.C" and "Mr.H" abound in random order and in a series of unconnected "events". There's plenty of psuedo science to go around including "anti-mass field physics". In oneastounding revelation, Hamilton calls upon debunked contactee George Adamski to explain how flying saucers operate! There is also the discredited Bob Lazar explaining the "work" he performed on captured flying saucers at Area 51.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Truth Behind The UFO Cover-Up
William F. Hamilton III is a well-known researcher of the many mysteries surrounding the UFO phenomenon. When the Phoenix Lights flap occurred back in the mid-90s, he was the premiere on-the-scene investigator, and he is a popular speaker on the UFO lecture circuit as well as a frequent guest expert on radio and television.

5-0 out of 5 stars ministry of love
In The COINTELPRO Papers, Ward Churchill and Jim Vander Wall chronicle decades of disruptive and secretive attacks by the FBI on those with whom they do not feel ideologically alignedXnamely, those who are a threat in any way to capitalism or to the current power structures within the United States and abroad. The authors contend that the FBI has launched seemingly countless attacks upon peaceful and law-abiding organizations and their members for no reason other than their philosophical deviance from the political mindset of the American status quo. The authors chronicle case after case after case of the FBI engaging in illegal and unsettling practices and activities in their ongoing efforts to discredit any organization or individual espousing radical or alternative socio-economic views.
5-0 out of 5 stars Sometimes Desert Is Better Than the Meal
