waste of money
Should be called 'The Coffee Table Overview to the Semiconductor Market'! It talked more about people who make them than how to make them.
WOW - I feel 10 times smarter right now...
This book is a must read for anyone in the technology industry - even a software guy like me found the content and processes explained fascinating!I would also urge anyone investing in public companies like Intel, Sun, etc.... to read this and truly understand what those companies do.There were several points in the book where the author would explain something, and the curious side of my brain would question "hrm, I wonder why it's called that... or how that came to be" - and without fail... the next paragraph of the book knew exactly what my curiosity would be and spelled it out.A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BOOK!

Absolutely a nursing student must-have
I LOVED this book.It is well written, easy to read with a bit of humor thrown in.I am already finding myself turning to this book again and again as a resource.Along with advice on surviving nursing school and getting the most from your clinical experience, she goes into searching for that first job, resumes, and a little bit of everything.I really think she touches on everything.In addition, she lists many fantastic websites for everything from financial aid to nursing affiliations.She really covers all the bases.I can't say enough about it and think every nursing student should read this book.

Good High Level Overview
This book was a good starting point for me. I'm contemplating a career change to nursing having worked in IT for 19 years.Lots of useful quotes and advice from students, new grads and staff nurses.I liked the high level view and broad scope this book gave me.
Great resource for finding your way
This book was completely amazing. Fun to read, extremely informative, lots of information about not only beginning nursing school but getting through until the end! Lots of great quotes, tons of resources (some chapters have a couple dozen helpful websites listed!)and information I use every day.

Dr. Phillips has simplified a very complex concept.His step-by-step recommendations to conducting ROI studies are clear and concise.However, caveat emptor!He simplifies ROI so well that it seems relatively easy;but beware: there are great hurdles to leap when conducting ROI studies. While Phillips does cover some of the most serious obstacles one may face,such as getting management buy-in, isolating training effects, and handlingsoft data, conducting a ROI study is by no means a cake walk.Forinstance, ROI is more than a fifth level of evaluation after Kirkpatrick'sfour.It should be conducted at all levels of evaluation, which Phillipsdoes suggest.Furthermore, ROI, or any evaluation effort for that matter,should not be viewed as merely a summative attempt; it should be conductedin an ongoing formative manner.Every project should have an evaluationcomponent that parallels each task through the lifecycle of theproject. The formula Phillips uses is a good one and he illustrates his model withmany practical examples. There is a particularly good chapter on isolatingthe effects of training and this answers many of the objections raised tothis sort of model where dollar amounts are calculated. The problem withthe model is that it is mainly retrospective which means that you areclosing the stable door after the horse has bolted in some cases. Havingsaid that, it does deal with topics such as the collection of post programdata in a thorough and clear way. If you are interested in intangiblebenefits of training then there is a chapter which deals with this topic. Iwould recommend that you also read the ASTD publication which Jack Phillipsedited called 'Measuring Return On Investment'. Here there are 17 casestudies which demonstrate how you can do ROI studies in the real world.Both these books are vital for anybody interested in the whole area of ROIon investment. ... Read more

Lots of games here
People love playing games a lot more than listening to lectures; this is indisputable. I didn't like all of the games listed here, but so what. Several I found helpful and intend to use.

Not Impressed
Although there is a lot of information packed into this book, I was very unimpressed with the layout and visual design.It looks like it was typed up in 1970.The graphics are ancient and the layout is just one big binder with no cross-referencing or indexing available.To find a useful game, you have to sift through hundreds of pages.It really is a shame, as there are some clever games here to loosen up an audience. ExcellentBook
I highly recommend this book to parents, teachers and anyone interested in learning more about ADHD. I am actually currently taking my Masters in Special Education and this book was a wonderful source of information. It is a very powerful book where the author talks about his personal experience growing up with ADHD. All parents of kids with ADHD should read this book because after this experience they will definitely understand better their kids' behavior. I congratulate the author for sharing his personal experience and for showing through his writing how parents and teachers have a crucial role in developing kids' self - esteem

A Book You'll Never Forget......
As a freshman in college, I was finally diagnoised with ADHD after always having problems growing up and never quite fitting in with my peers. After being diagnoised I continued to struggle to find the support I needed. 2 years after I was diagnoised, through the ADHD support group that I have been part of, I was encouraged to read Dr. Jergen's book. It took quite sometime for me to finish it but it was the most touching and honest story. I finally felt like I knew someone that has gone through similar struggles like me. Dr. Jergen's book has given me hope. It has shown that someone with severe ADHD can find ways to cope and be successful. I could barely finish his book because I was so touched and moved to tears. Thank you!!!!

In the past institutional knowledge has been dominated by individuals, an accumulation of knowledge over time mostly from experience or contacts. VERY PRACTICAL, GET TO THE SUBJECT VERY FAST
I had the 5th edition in college and bought the 7th edition for work and it helped me a lot in Transistors circuits design. It is easy to read and it doesn't give you too much theory that is sometimes confusing. Lots of example and even how to interpret Datasheets. very good..
as the previous reviewer notes.. there are some design pitfalls (like the equations in the front cover).... but these flaws do not effect study at all Needs a big internal facelift

A full exposure of the topic - from History to Application
I read all the other reviews, I get a feeling they are all from students. As a practicing professional in this field for the past 20 years, I can say that as Boles'"What Color is your Parachute" is the bible for Job Seekers, Zunker's "Career Counseling: Applied concepts of Life Planning" is the bible for the Career Counselor. I find Zunker's information well exposed for easy comprehension. His writing style is simple and straight-forward. I believe the book is well structured for its purpose and didn't get a 5 star rating because It should be more economical in pricing. ... Read more
