Teach yourself to teach kids!
This detailed how to book offers a variety of technical interventions and some neccessary theory surrounding Applied Behavior Analysis.It also presents a variety of explanations and examples for classroom use.I really enjoyed the read and highly recommend it.My students also found it usefull!

For learning about ABA and relating to school you cannot beat this book...
My title states it all.The 7th edition trumps the phenomenal 6th edition in it's inclusion of IDEA 2004/NCLB concepts.It is well worth the price difference between this book and most ABA books.

technical lingo

You can learn a lot if you don't fall asleep first.
I am currently enrolled in a floral design program using this book as text.Yes, it is a very imformative book, but Ms. Hunter goes into far to much detail and uses far to many words to get her point across.Maybe it's just me and I am a far more visually oriented person, but trying to learn floral design through the use of a text book so far is not my cup of tea...I think it's a good reference book but that's about it.

Excellent Textbook
I have referred to this textbook throughout the five years since I took my first floral design class.I am now a seasoned designer and sometimes refresh my memory by re-reading chapters.Well-written and illustrated.

Definitely worth buying.
This is a great textbook.Not for casual reading.It has so much information about floral design and care and handling of fresh flowers and foliage.It gives good design illustrations that you can copy and make for your home or for friends and family.I'll be referring to this book for information long after my classes are over. ... This book has helped me tremendously in redesigning my reading program.As a special education teacher I am always looking for new concepts when it comes to my struggling readers.

Excellent, research-based, trustworthy.
Dr. Richard Allington continues to provide a research-based perspective that goes beyond the quick fixes, commercial-for-profit programs, and the political rhetoric of the day.If you really want to understand reading and learn a variety of research-based strategies that can be used to enhance reading, this is the book for you.There are plenty of practical strategies for teachers as well as parents.However, if you are looking for simplistic fixes (more phonics, more tests, more homework), I would advise you to go to your conservative "think" tanks and listen to politicians who have never read a research study.

Explains concepts in an easy to understand manner
How beneficial you will find this book depends on your background.If you are a parent, teacher, or college student trying to learn about basic research on reading, then this book is for you. This book gave me a nice review, but if you are familiar with the original research, you may want to skip this as something you already know.

A true introductory book on Control Engineering
Great book!
This book helped me a lot while I was studing Control Theory at college. It has very clear examples and it is well written.

For whom want to master the subject!
This text is not just thorough in its covered material. It covers more material than all other undergrad. level control texts I've ever seen. It treats thoroughly both state-space and the transform approaches which makes this text somehow unique. The text opens your eyes to the P,PI,PD and PID controllers in the very beginning which is thrilling for first time control students. As a matter of fact, the text is more focused on mechanical engineers interests than those of the electrical engineers. I consider the concept itself neutral :) which ECS/EE majors might share with ME(s).

Terrific Resource
The beauty business is wonderful, really it is. There are only a very few players that are truely dishonest when it comes to ingredients, for instance, "renaming" common ingredients. This book will help everyone keep it straight. As a beauty and lifestyle reporter, I keep it on my desk.

Review of Teaching and Learning at a Distance
This is an excellent book. The authors know their business. The writing is clear and easy to follow. I particularly like the pratical information provided by the authors and their examples. There is also a chapter on copyright and applications. The book covers a brief history of Distance Ed which shows how this educational platform has grown.
A good introduction
I use this book as my text in The Foundations of Distance Education and Training course I teach at the University of Phoenix. It has recently been updated and in the past 4 years of teaching this class, not a single student has complained about the book (somewhat unusual).

Hate Math you'll love this book!

Practical advice for women leaders
The Girls Guide to Being a Boss (without being a bitch) is a down-to-earth guidebook for women in leadership positions. It is written how we might talk amongst friends, in a straightforward manner. Comprehensive Classroom Management
I had to buy and read this book for a classroom management class.It is a great book for comparing the most recent research available.However, you usually need to read five to ten pages of what could have been stated in a paragraph.I do feel that I really understand the material by the time I finish reading the book.I have also used many of the ideas in my classroom to try and improve my classroom management in my student teaching experience.

Emergence of a true science
Reading this textbook one can appreciate the science in the science of human behavior. Not that the science of human behavior isn't well-served by the philosophy of behaviorism or by ongoing research within the area of the experimental analysis of behavior. But what I saw in this book is just how much progress has been made in applications and how fully the scientific method has been utilized.
Remains as relevant today as when it came out!
Is it possible to change one's own life and the lives of others by arranging our surroundings (environment) in a particular way? Any student of applied behavior analysis (ABA) would strongly shout out YES!

Best book on gifted education
This book is an invaluable resource to both parents and teachers

Among the best books on early education
I have a baby and recently started planning her early education.I systematically searched the internet, Amazon and university library shelves for information.Among the dozens of books that I have read or browsed, this one is clearly among the best (a must-have) for my style of parenting.I don't just listen to "experts" and do what they say, I do my own reasoning and make my own decision.
This is THE book on the subject

Easy-to-read textbook detailnig the counseling process
Hackney & Cormier offer a simple stage presentation of counseling that explains the process to readers in a revealing way.Each stage is detailed, and various intervention genres are explored.At times, howeverthe book does not flow well.The authors do not take enough time to showhow each aspect of counseling ties together.Hackney & Cormier,however, are sensitive -- almost to a fault -- to multicultural issues.

Great at process; tainted at points by political correctness
I've used this as a text for two years to teach the process of counseling at the undergraduate level. It's quite good at setting forth an understandable five-step process of counseling. The taint of politicalcorrectness rears its ugly head at points when the authors tacitly presumethe morality of homosexual unions--but these can instances can be bracketedoff.
