Questionable Reference Causes Doubt
On page 19, under the heading of Selective Perception and Communication, the authors indicate that "research" has shown that grades received by teachers reveal bias of the teacher as opposed to the actual level of knowledge of the child.Two specific examples are provided but WITHOUT citation to the supposed research.Since the research material is so well documented in the rest of the book, I question why they did not make the citation available here.I would like to read this research but am left without the option to find it myself.Ironically, my view of everything that I read in this book from this point on will be tarnished by this experience.

Dated but very good
This is a good introductory book for those that need to develop and promote successful seminars and workshops. The book covers what one needs to know about developing a program, market testing, setting the right fees, marketing, promotion, advertising and publicity. The reader is provided with useful practical tips and advice that I have used to good effect.

I really liked this book as it is very easy to read and understand. I found it to be very informative, educational, and a must read for anyone working within the human services field.

Fascinating, challenging, informative
If you are looking for quick fixes and simplistic solutions to conflict this book is not for you. The highly analytical approach illuminates the complexities of conflict management. Folger et al do an excellent job exploring the theoretical and psychological background necessary to evaluate the implicit and explicit causes and conditions involved in and effectively pursue solutions to disputes at mutiple levels. You wont find this book on the NY Times bestsellers list because it is a textbook. Graduate student and practiotioners can expect to draw upon it as an invaluable resource. Unlike most of those popular books this book doesn't just 'get you to yes', it actually has more weight and substance than most everything else out there. Many critical typos
This book is not for people who do not understand statistics because there are typos in the book on important things such as definitions, answers to stats formulas, and in addition, the associated on-line grading chapter questions. Page 39 is just one example. The explanation of a Z-score has a typo. Below that, the example formula of a T-score is incorrect. Trying to figure this stuff out has been beyond frustrating. I do not recommend this book until they fix the published errors.
Drummond's textbook
Students whose field of studies will take them into research and/or testing procedures should consider this book. It covers the historical and philosophical foundationsof testing, the ethical issues involved, and goes into great detail on all the statistical aspects of appraisal. Parts of it are over my head but this is due to my poor math background rather than the author's style and content.

Easy to Understand Text on Appraisal
I purchased a copy of Appraisal Procedures for Counselors and Helping Professionals by Robert J. Drummond in order to review for the National Counselor Exam.It had been a number of years since I had taken a class in appraisal and I felt that I needed to brush up on the terms and basic principles.I found this book to be very helpful.The material is presented in an easy to understand format.I was worried about the appraisal section on the NCE.After reviewing this book, I felt much more confidnet about being successful on the appraisal section of the test.I recently took the NCE and passed.And, I actually did ok on the appraisal questions.I would recommend this book as an excellent review. ... A Must for parents and educators
This book is a must for parents of ADHD children as well as educators.As both a parent of an ADHD child and a teacher, I found this book enlightening as well as practical.It is a very easy read, in fact, I read it in two days.It is easy to understand and is written in layman terms not scientific/medical jargon.It explains so many aspects ADHD is language that parents can understand and offers some sensible solutions to everyday problems.This book has become by ADHD bible.

Another good book to read by Mel Levine. His books are very informative and you do learn alot from him.

Mel Levine's basic proposition is that our culture is dysfunctional in its ability to transition young adults, whom he calls "startup adults", from high school and college to productive working lives and careers.Levine passes blame all around - youth culture's fascination with being "cool" and instant gratification, the public school system and higher ed. system's failure to prepare students for reality, etc.Levine presents a simple four-part framework for understanding and dealing with the problems he identifies.

This book is great. It has nearly every process I was interested in, and steps you through each of them with: easy to follow instructions, checklists of chemicals, and useful/helpful pictures.

Train the Trainer. Faciltator's Guide
The book is a good one but, be careful !!! It has only 183 pages and is useless without the Trainer�s Guide of the same author that is NOT included with this book and is NOT included in the price.

Excellent Resource For The Young Adult
As a part-time personal career coach for college students trying to identify their major, I was thrilled to see the "What Color Is Your Parachute" franchise has created a version for the late teens/early twenties demographic. Despite the best efforts of college career counseling offices, I still encounter many young people needing help identifying career options that complement the person they are. Resources such "What Color Is Your Parachute" provide young adults with critical learnings they can use to educate themselves about the importance of their personal interests, their strengths, and their skills to ultimately make an informed career decision. And it doesn't hurt if the parents of the young person have read this (or similar) works, as well, so they can be educated coaches for their young adult. In many cases, parents have invested time, emotion and money into getting their child into an institution of higher learning and keeping them there, so their participation in this stage of their child's life is a logical next step. Trust me, parents - they want your involvement more than they let on.
Definitely a crucial book for any teenager who cares about his/her future!

Great Reference Book
I just got this book today and I am so happy that I purchased it. It is the perfect reference book that i have been looking for. It has great pictures of the flowers and foliage , pronunciation as well as design applications. Great book, a must have to all beginner florist.
