EXCELLENT INTERMEDIATE TELECOMMUNICATIONS BOOK
Chances are that you already have this book in your IT library. But, you probably don't have the 2nd edition of the book. Author Roger L. Freeman has done an outstanding job of presenting telecommunications as the world's must lucrative industry.
Unbelievable
This book is completely accurate, thorough, and readable. I keep it on my desk as a reference, and find it invaluable. I know the price is steep, but it's worth it!

This book will be well worth your time
I am a technical trainer of 10 years, and manage a group of four.
Not only practical, but useful, too!
Kavita Gupta wrote a book that is a must-have for anyone desiring an overview of the multiple ways needs assessment can occur. Gupta begins by setting the context of needs assessment, attending first to what needs assessment is and where it fits into the training or performance improvement scheme. By overviewing the works of Gilbert, Kaufman, Rossett, and others, the author creates a very usable comparison. Persons trying to decide what type of needs assessments are best for their situation can quickly narrow their focuses. (Not all needs analyses are built alike, after all, and they start from somewhat different places.) A review of data gathering fundamentals is concise (just over 20 pages) but helpful.Read more

Not so sure the high price is justified.
To quote the "official" reviewer, "She has experience teaching at the elementary, middle, high school and adult levels." Not sure if that means the author was a really good teacher (seems she moved around a lot) or not.
Absolute Required Resource
I took this course as a part of staff development offered by GMU. This book is so much better than the one I learned from in college.There is so much more offered to the teacher in a very easy to follow format.There are plenty of examples at every grade level to satisfy anyone.I wouldn't be without this book.Thanks to Ms. Richardson,et al. for writing it and thanks to my school district for offering it.This book will stay with me forever.If you are having reading problems in your class then get this book and quit pulling your hair out.

Good Foundation
This book offers a really good introduction to many of the primary post-Freudian theorists.It was clear to read and really provided a sound introduction to some complicated ideas.This book was better than the others of its type.Worth the investment.

StClair has made a brief summary of the followers of Freudianpsychodynamic thought in the book.It is nice to see the outline of thetheories of many important theorists in the field. Now where did I put that book?
This book was so unremarkable that I put it down after reading the first six very short chapters. I've since read other books and wanted to come back to this one. But I seem to have misplaced it. I suppose I would have found the material more interesting if the author had delved a little deeper into the topic rather than skim the surface at breakneck speed. It might be a good introduction. But you'll likely finish the book wanting to know more.

A great primer and reference to fall back on
While no doubt I've heard many of nuggets contained in the book over the course of my high school and college days, I found Koomey's book a pleasurable read and useful synthesis of approaches and tips for completing quality research and analyses.Internalizing Koomey's advice is going to help most readers be more discriminating consumers of published research and better authors of their own research.It's a reference source I've already gone back to myself in just a few weeks and a great training resource for new consultants my company hires.

What a waste of time and money
This is actually the first review I have ever written - prompted by the complete and utter uselessness of this book.There's hardly one original thought in the entire text - which is comprised mostly of 2 page chapters.

Is this book really worth its pricey tag?
After being greatly impressed by the size of the box that this work arrived in I was a little disappointed by the rather cheap looking folder that was contained within.Indoor/Outdoor Team building games for trainers by Harrison Snow is presented in a large triple ring folder that at first glance looks like a standard undergraduate dissertation.However the way the work is presented and the price tag are both justified in the copyright blurb on the very first page. Poor Value
A tremendous disappointment. One of the more expensive Team Building resource publications available and it does not deliver. In many respects, Mr. Snow has authored a well organized, adequately written resource BINDER. A three ring binder and 241 (mostly single sided) pages of information. Sadly, the liabilities completely outweigh the assets of this selection. Great Hands on edition

Great resource
I have used several of these games with great success.Most are intelligent and fun, unlike several other books I have read.The organization of the book is a little odd but that's only a minor complaint.It's still fairly easy to find what I'm looking for.

Very Good but needs some re-organization
A small book that is very popular among trainers. The Games and activities are chosen from the Creative Training Techniques Newsletter (By Bob Pike) and are suitable for a variety of topics and situations. The activities are very eclectic and many are unique since they are contributed by different people. The presentation is also very clear. However, the one thing that the book lacks is a topical index so that you can check the type of the activity and its suitability to different training topics and areas: You have to go through the whole book looking for the icebreakers, the activities, etc. and the areas that they suitable for.

Kill them before They Grow
The book was right on, regarding the school systems and the teachers that work in it.

Powerfully Enlightning!
Where do I begin......this book has been extremely informative. Specifically in regards to the "public" school system.I am a 31 year old single parent of an 11 year old boy.Recently I have been dealing with various issues within the public school system. It alarms me to know that the experiments to "distruction" of our black children still goes on.Moreso, how we continue to allow are children to be "test cases".We can no longer turn a "blinds eye" to our African American children (specifically boys) any longer.This book has encouraged me to continue to be a "visible" advocate for my son as well as other African American boys. It has compelled me to become more pro-active in my childs education.It is imperative that we as African Americans put an end to this "Progressive Genocide" in the school system.We can no longer afford to be complacent! I pray that you recieve the message this book has to offer.It is time we "Rose" to the occassion!

After working more than seven years as a child and family counselor, and, later, five years as an Emotional Behavior Disorders Teacher in a public middle school, I reached certain startling conclusions:A diabolicalmarriage has taken place between America's educational system andpharmaceutical companies.Schools are rapidly becoming laboratories forthe dispensing of psychostimulants and the students are the guinea pigs ofchoice.And, as always, African Americans and the poor comprise thegreatest number of victims.Further complicating matters is the zero valueplaced on African American boys.African American and Latino boys are themost feared and despised student populations in America.This ugly realityleads to the parents of these boys being conned ( Chap. 2 The Conning ofAfrican American Parents) by school employees into targeting, testing,labeling, and medicating their children.Avenues and methods other thanlabeling and medicating are very seldom sought or employed.The toxiceffects of a Eurocentric curriculum on nonwhite minds is ignored byeducational professionals, medical professionals, and politicians (Chap. 6A Curriculum of Genocide).Also, there is much apprehension in examiningthe relationship between African American boys and White female teachers(Chap. 5). Kill Them Before They Grow takes a hard look at howeducational policies (Chap. 1 Public Law 94-142 and the Creation of BlackMonsters) can be misused; and how misuse can spiral out of control. Helpful, But More For The Academic
I was very excited to find a book with this title, "Teaching Learning Strategies and Study Skills to Students with Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorders, or Special Needs." While I am not a trained or certified teacher I do have 2 children with special needs and I NEED HELP.
Life Saver
I bought this book to assist in my Learning Strategies Class. I was supposed to teach study skills to high school students with LD, but of course was given no materials to work with. The students enjoyed the activities. I do not think that I could have survived without this.
