I am a fan of fords and this is a very helpfull book.Explains alot of things that other books do not.

5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST Available..
I've purchased almost all Ford SB Windsor literature.. this particular book is absolutely the Best I got.I'm not saying it's perfect, but still is unique in a way that it illustrates how to carry out performance assemblies step by step.. such as building a 347 cid stroker, porting a head, installing force induction stuff, timing a cam or tuning a carb (I use EFI but it's good to know how). This book is not another performance parts catalog in the shape of a "book"!This one is very similar to what you can find on the tech pages of websites such as FordMuscle.com, CarCraft.com, MustangandFords.com ... 5-0 out of 5 stars History of World Supercar Industry
Antonio Ghini's book contains whatever lies below the "Prancing Horse" badge, for models produced in the 50 years period; moreover, it helps to understand and find answers of today's automotive & motorsports technologies' innovational questions which are solved decades before. The online version of the book is available at CuoreSPORTIVO ICEO Web Site with pictures.

2-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Official Account of Racing History
This is the true story- from Enzo's days as an Alfa Romeo engineer and race mechanic, up to his death...and beyond. It's refreshing to find the story so well summed up - while it's not an unbiased account, it's exactly what you'd expect from the folks who make some of the most amazing machines on the face of this earth. What an awesome story, and great pictures to boot! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Excelent book, lots of information but reads like a tech buliten and leans toward British stuff
This book is packed with information and is extremly well written to get the facts across. But the writing style is a bit technical, just the facts and how to do it all.it reads like a service bulitin. If you can learn from that then its great but if you cant then you wont be able to get through this book.It also leans toward british stuff, there is a section on carbs and it focus' on the weber side draft and one other british carb that i cant remember the name of right now.all in all it was a good book and if you read it closely you can apply most of it to american vehicles also.I learned alot, even though it was somtimes difficult to hold my intrest.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Foundational Book
I just recently attended EFI University and was told by instructor to read this book. It had great information for beginning tuners. It even had section about tuning individual carburetors. The electronic fuel injection section was very informative but gave a slight bias to tuning british vehicles and individual throttle bodies. The book had many british words which I had to look up to understand. It included a special version of Emerald M3DK program to help beginning tuners to gain hands on experience.

3-0 out of 5 stars an okay book
This book is good for those who want to learn the basic EFI system. Some thoery, and some parts interesting. It was more oriented towards beginners. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Source for Real Dyno Results
The basis for this book is showing you before and after comparisons for a particular modification. If you want to know how much horsepower and torque a particular throttle body, supercharger, or set of cams will give you, this is the book for you. The book contains mostly engine dyno numbers, so you have to remember that the numbers will be higher than on a chassis dyno. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars I Returned This Book
This book is not at all what I expected. It is a *really* basic approach to how this stuff works. No real theory at all.I decided to return it within ten minutes of receipt.I like Watson's style, but I did not likethe book. It would be good for a newbie who doesn't know anything yet.Abetter title would be 'General Information on Really, Really BasicPrinciples of Automotive Operations:With EFI' or 'Induction for Dummies:When to Use a Dual-Plane Intake'.The book is mistitled; I'd give it 2.5stars, but the title gets Zero stars.

1-0 out of 5 stars Misleading and poorly published
5/9/004-0 out of 5 stars Good informational book, but title is misleading
Watson's book is quite informational, though I have to admit I did not read it cover to cover.I assumed that the book was written for hints and formulas to custom fabricate intake manifolds and exhaust headers.I wasincorrect, the book explains several different types of intakes, and such, covering carburetors, forced induction, emissions, exhaust, and the likes. However nothing is given on fabrication of said parts. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The ideal guide to modifying Datsun/Nissan engines.
I have a few books by this author Tom Monroe. His books are very thorough. His books are written in simple terms and easy to understand. If you are looking for a book to modify your Datsun/Nissan engines then this book is the ideal book.I also recommend his other book on rebuilding Datsun/Nissan engines. These 2 books should go together.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great book - just doesn't cover Z24 as much as L-series
I liked this book simply because it's gonna answer many questions and give much help to anyone with a 70's or '80's z-car or truck.I have a 720 pickup with the Z24 motor. It is in the list, however it is not touched upon as much as the L-series inline 6 and 4 cylinders.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for your street aplications.
This book is great for the serious do-it-yourselfer.If you know how rebuild your engine, you'll have no problems. It gives recommendations from the experts and simplifies it for you, and eliminates the hassle and expense of experimenting.Get it, it's an excellent reference if you're already in the business. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book for the 911 Hobbyist
This has got to be one of the most well put-together automotive do-it-yourself books I've seen in some time, whether Porsche or otherwise. The photos are extremely clear and detailed, in contrast to most auto manuals (even the factory oftentimes). The instructions are informative and even present alternatives or commentary on aspects of the project (for example, mentioning that while the H4 headlight update gives better lighting, some people prefer the profile of the original earlier headlamps on SCs). In addition, the initial summary boxes, which give statistics such as complexity of the job, time necessary, approximate cost, tools needed, etc. makes it easier to select a project for your next weekend, based on how much free time you have available. An excellent publication. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Finally. A TPI book I could understand!
A friend loaned me Lingenfelters book and I agree with the other reviewers here that it has more detailed information about camshafts and cylinder heads. But I felt lost reading it. I had to re-read sections over and over, and some of it still didn't make sense to me. I'm sure he's right, but I just don't know if what he's saying to do applies to me. This book was easy to read, though. It was almost as if the author had written the book just for me. He explained things clearly, but didn't make me feel like the dummy I felt like when reading the lingenfelter book. I really liked how this book focused on street-legal modifications; most books and magazines always seem to talk about expensive racing parts that I can't afford. Yes, this book could be a bit more specific about some topics (especially camshafts) and I would have liked a few more step-by-step instructions. But I wouldn't let those shortcomings keep you from buying it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not The Best Book On Modifying TPI Engines
I found the John Lingenfelter book by HP to be more informative concerning camshaft and cylinder head combinations for TPI and EFI small block Chevy engines. John Lingenfelter is a well-known racer and now competes in NHRA Pro Stock Truck Series. Lingenfelter also gives various combinations that are proven and dyno tested, making selection very easy for the avid enthusiast.

3-0 out of 5 stars Lingenfelter Book Much Better
This book is great for a simple history of the TPI and fuel injected engines. However, I found the Lingenfelter book was more detailed in how to properly modify and make great power on TPI engines. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not a Rebuild Manual
This book is OK for the info but do not confuse it with a step-by-step guide to rebuld your stock trans. It has no index and the emphasis is on racing applications ('Cuda funny cars on the cover installation). There are so many variations through the years; it can't give you much specific info (the book states this repeatedly). It is hardly the "master reference" it claims to be. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good information but waiting for version 2
Really good information, and I'm glad I bought it, but I really wish the author would consider doing a revision. It appears as though he just discovered CTRL-C, because there is a lot of repetition of information. So it's thorough, but if you're judging by the number of pages there's probably at least 10 pages of repetition. On the other hand if you'r into skimming chapters this makes sure you don't miss anything covered earlier.

4-0 out of 5 stars Long overdue!
It's good to finally see a book on the Ford modular engines.Hyland does the reader a great service by tirelessly going over blocks, cranks, intakes, cylinder heads, injectors, and ignition systems. He does a wonderful job on the cylinder heads, carefully showing how many cc's the chambers have with each style and letting you know what your likely compression ration will be with various cylinder head and piston combinations. One other area where this book really shines is the excellent photos that accompany the text.
4-0 out of 5 stars Nice to know hot rodding is still alive and welland doable
This is a solid and comprehensive - albeit short (120 pages) - discussion on hot rodding the 4.6 litre ford, used in late model mustangs (including cobra and gt models), through 2003.the book was published in 2003 so the newer cobra engines with supercharging are covered.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good help for Amateurs and up. Also....
This book may be a little complicated for begginers into the audio world. Also don't be fooled by the name of the book, this book does NOT tell you how to design and make speakers, rather, speaker systems. As in, 4-5 speakers and a subwoofer.Although, this book does touch on why speakers do certain things, along with distortions, and all those little goodies that rob you of true quatlity! It will also help you on designing different types of enclosures for all audio.

5-0 out of 5 stars I had a lot of fun this book and it has not stoped
I like this book. It has a unique SUBWOOFER BIAMP FILTERED CROSSOVER project (It's easy to build, works very well) And it has a really cool Jeep CJ box, And you keep the back seat. Nice if your a Dad with little ones. Covers speakers from Madisound, Kicker and MTX. Note front and back speaker projects. Not just Subs. The people from Madisound I found to bevery nice too. This BIAMP FILTERED CROSSOVER is not the same one as from his first book. (Killer Car Stereo on a Budget.)

4-0 out of 5 stars No fuss, no hassle, straight to the point.
A very good book with detailed custom-made speaker projects for the front, rear (flush and surface mount) speakers and boxed woofers explained in clear and simple terms. The tips on making and cutting your own mount boards are especially useful.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The ideal guide for rebuilding the early Ford small blocks.
First,If you are about to rebuild an early model Ford small block engine I would suggest this book.If you are looking for a book on later model EFI Ford small blocks engines this book isnt the one you want.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great how-to book
This book is great for the novice engine builder looking for one book to show you how it's done. The magazine style writing with tons of pictures is easy to follow and includes lots of helpful tips. This book, together with a shop manual specific to your vehicle is all you will need to finish your project. The only thing that I found lacking was it could have used a little bit more detail on some of the finishing touches (ie. setting the rockers/valves - which is only explained with one picture/comment) of your engine build. After looking at several other books for information, I determined that this was the best / most current available. With all that said, my rebuilt motor runs great!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Easy read with lots of valuable information
The best analogy for describing this book is that it's like having several long conversations with a veteran engine builder. It's easy to read and contains lots of valuable tips as well as Ford specific things to watch for.

5-0 out of 5 stars Big-Block Mopar Performance: High Performance and Racing Modifications for B and Rb Series Engines
lots of info and history of the engines. Also gets onto the the area of what is best of MOPAR and aftermarket equipment.

4-0 out of 5 stars Senatore Has High Horsepower Winner for B/RB Owners!
Chuck Senatore's new book on building high performance Mopar B & RB motors is well-written, with excellent tips and advice for the hands-on home builder, or the professional engine builder. His experience withbuilding Mopars, and with helping to develop his company, Muscle Motors, into a respected authority on Mopar engines, is evident throughout. Whilethis is not a step-by-step engine building guide, it provides backgroundfor all the decisions that must be made before one begins the buildingprocess.Particularly valuable is the discussion on developing a plan andpurpose for the motor you want to build, before starting. The onlycriticism I have of his information is that it seemed he gave short shriftto head porting, and hydraulic cam choices.Though home head porting isone of the hottest, and simplest, mods a competent novice can perform, Mr.Senatore devoted less than a page to the actual process, and recommendedthe novice leave this job to a machine shop pro. Little more time is spentin the discussion of hydraulic cam choices for hot street performance, eventhough this is the major growth and interest area for Saturday night streetcruisers which see little actual strip action. For the person who isinterested in these areas, there are pleaty of information sourceselsewhere, and I still believe that this book is a must for any person whois considering building a B/RB motor, regardless of their level ofexperience. Good job, Mr. Senatore! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Monster Garage Bible
I got this set when my son and I started restoring our Harley. It has helped him, more than me. The three books put everything from the show into printed pages with all the details necessary to make it a handy reference. Covers painting, welding, customizing, and is better for those starting out/little experience than those who have skills already. Unless of course you just want it for the pictures of cool rides. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Good reference
I bought a 68 as a project in a semi dismantled condition, this book is an excellent reference for piecing together which bits go where (& which are missing!), the notes on options are also useful.
3-0 out of 5 stars Big book, lots of detail, but...
The stuff I wanted for my '66 had small pictures for the details and some were even faded out! It looked like some of the pictures had either been 1) poorly scanned in and placed in the book, or 2) it was a poor printing. I'm giving it 3 stars because the book is still worth purchasing, but this isn't a substitute for a good official diagram.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Information
Outstanding detail. Hundreds of factoy drawings and exploded views. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Big Jim knocks it out of the park.
Jim Hand, perhaps the nicest member of the nicest family in the Pontiac community, finally puts his five decades of experience in the printed word.
4-0 out of 5 stars good ----zeer hul vol !
Hello ,
5-0 out of 5 stars Solid Overview of Pontiac performance
I was very familiar with Jim hand from various articles he has written that can be found on various Pontiac websites. This book stands out compared to other car books that it gives you practicle info on Pontiac engines and known combinations. The only critique I could give it, it is really more about "street" performance than MAX performance. But that was OK by me. ...
