These two women have given a very good academic bent to the deeply felt beliefs of dedicated white masses. The deliniated approach this subject, the hours spent in interviews, the 'question and answer' forms they sent out to bring all these disparate voices together, sums up their professional review of this important matter. All intelligent people look forward to seeing more of their work

5-0 out of 5 stars The White Separatist Movement in the United States
The White Separatist Movement in United States: White Power White Pride is a very fair book written by two Left wing feminists who try very hard to keep their feeling of hate and disgust for us out of the book, and they do a very good job. 5-0 out of 5 stars Finally a non-bias look at white pride
It's really refreshing to read a book that doesn't reinforce the stereotype that pro-white groups/individuals are inbred, backwoods, barefoot rednecks that wear stupid costumes.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Racism + Capitalism = Public Housing in Chicago
Excellent review of how the Chicago Housing Authority, despite good intentions, ended up not only itself segregated, but reinforced existing housing segregation in the private market.5-0 out of 5 stars the deception of public housing
After reading The Hidden War,(which made extensive reference to Hirsch's book)I wanted a more detailed history about the creation of public housing as we know it to be in Chicago. This book gives detail of how the political, educational, civic organizations wanted to contain the burgeoning African American community which was growing during post world war II and the great migrationyears. The powerful in Chicago used government policies to maintain housing segregation...the powerless resorted to violence to keep African Americans out ofneighborhoods...the results were the massive and bleak housing structures which are called public housing. This book not only talks about the historical wheelings and dealings of the white power structure, but it also gives insight into how the same tactics are being used today, to maintain certain class and racial segregation. This is a good companion must read along with The Hidden WARS.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well-written historical account

5-0 out of 5 stars A Worthy Read.
This book beautifully explores a worthy approach to pluralism.Connolly seeks to identify faith (both theist and nontheist) as the link between every Rawlsian comprehensive doctrine; between every way of life.He articulates how, by understanding the contestability of faith, we might seek to better understand a diverse aray of faith systems. As he proceeds he grounds his work in a historical basis for pluralist thought, and seeks to expound upon a detailed prescription for pursuing political pluralism.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Read
This is a fantastic book.Pluralism not only offers a sophisticated diagnosis of some of the most pressing tensions and difficulties in contemporary democratic politics today by revealing how broad modes of thought, discourse, feeling and behaviour help shape and orient the mood of Western politics today. It also offers a nuanced, heartfelt and principled vision of what a truly pluralistic political society might be able to achieve - as well as suggesting ways that we as individuals and communities can work to cultivate such a society.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Bible of Pluralist Theory
"Connolly is one of the very few theorists I know of who knows how to unlock the democratic promise of pluralism. He has honed in on the forces of a democratic society that undermine pluralism and those that foster it, and he understands how a pluralist society can become genuinely inclusive of all voices, including religious voices, and just as importantly how each voice itself can become inclusive of the pluralistic possibilities that belong to a democratic society and its participating voices as a whole. Connolly's Pluralism is the Bible of pluralist thought." EU Pluralist ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars reliving a bittersweet time
As a 13-year-old Cookie Rojas fan, I thought '64 was finally the Phils' year.Everything was looking hopeful in Connie Mack Stadium.Kashatus does an admirable job of capturing that moment in time. His interviews with players from that '64 team are particularly interesting, as is his look at the managing dilemmas facing Gene Mauch--a man who probably overanalyzed things in the final weeks of the season: odd because Mauch was one of the all-time staunchest believers in basic baseball. But anything could happen in Connie Mack, as Phillies fans were all too aware.Kashatus tries to be impartial about the situation surrounding Richie Allen, and Kashatus successfully deals with the various facets of Allen's considerable talent and amazing '64 season, along with his unpredictable and sometimes problematic personality. To baseball fans in general, however, the most fascinating aspect of "September Swoon" is how mercurial the game can be, even when things are supposedly in the bag.

3-0 out of 5 stars Middle-aged Phillies fans should read this
Now that we're all older we can look back on this sad chapter in Philly sports with a bit more perspective. It's hard to stay mad at Richie Allen after you read this, especially if you aren't familiar with the story of his shameful treatment in Little Rock in 1963.If anything, you'll remember why you liked him in the first place. A decent read for a die-hard Phillies fan.

4-0 out of 5 stars An interesting look at the 1964 season and more
I thought this book was going to be just a day-by-day recap of the 1964 Phillies famous skid at the end of the season to give the NL pennant to the Cardinals, but it was much more.

4-0 out of 5 stars Easy to understand and quite instructive
The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is without a doubt the most notorious and infamous anti-Semitic text ever written. Originally a piece written as a response to Napoleon III, it was later re-written and given a new title by the Russians, who used it in their anti-Semitic propaganda. Adolf Hitler too used it, mentioned it in his speeches, and talked about it in Mein Kampf, and even though the falsification has been exposed repeatedly it's still being used today, by among others dubious New Age prophets.
3-0 out of 5 stars An important topic buta static presentation
Eisner is justly remembered as a graphic innovator and the topic here; portraying the true origins of this contemptible "document" is admirable, so why didn't this work better? The basic problem is that the history of the protocols does not lend itself to creativity in presentation. Like a textbook THE PLOT serves an important purpose and Eisner does his best to add some drama to the basic tale of how a petty group of Russian bureaucrats decided to create this foul work to support their political agenda and from there groups all over the world have used it to foster hatred; but the material is too dry to support anything but the facts. Eisner gives it a try but basically the book is a series of talking heads, and no matter what approach Eisner uses it never really becomes anything more than that. It just doesn't make for an exciting read in this medium. Despite my complaints it is my hope that like Nast's cartoons helped bring down Tammany Hall, THE PLOT too will serve its purpose and enlighten people to the lies behind the protocols of Zion.

4-0 out of 5 stars The lie that wouldn't die.
Will Eisner was one of the greatest story tellers in the history of comics, and is credited with creating the graphic novel. This book was his last finished work.It is the story of "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion", an anti-Jewish tract that purports to tell of the Jews' plot to take over the world. The whole thing was a hoax, but that didn't stop anti-Semites from using it to justify discriminating against Jews.Eisner does an effective job of showing, through words and pictures, how this dangerous document influenced (and continues to influence) the world negatively. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Religion, religion, religion!
There's a lot of in-bickering within the intellectual community as to the primary motivation for any particular event. People who have majored in political science will argue that politics is always the key. People who have majored in sociology will argue that it's social change that's the key. People, like myself, who have majored in religion will always seem to find that religion is the key.
5-0 out of 5 stars "Faith" and civil rights in Mississippi.
Highly recommended account of the role of "faith" in the lives of five prominent figures in Mississippi during the civil rights movement.Saints (Fannie Lou Hamer, Edwin King, Cleveland Sellers) and sinners (Sam Bowers and Douglas Hudgins) are both represented.Hudgins and other Jackson elites come off nearly as loathsome as Bowers.Marsh's prose is brilliant, providing for a lively and inspiring read.

2-0 out of 5 stars A College Student's review
God's Long Summer covers a very exciting and troubled time in American History. The various points of view Marsh used to complete this book is the key to understanding this time period. However, the unnecessary abundance of religious references and the slow pace of the book make it almost unreadable. It is heartbreaking to read through one uninteresting point of view, to discover the next chapter is just as dull. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Danzy Senna lies about the Multiracial Movement
I read Danzy Senna's essay in this book and I came away reaffirmed in my belief that a "black" identity in a physically Caucasian or otherwise non-Negroid person can only exist through emotional child abuse and a lack of self-esteem.
2-0 out of 5 stars Fact Checker Please
This books is ok. I don't really know what Danzy was talking about, though. What was with that list of black people (who weren't even black!)? I'm guessing it's a joke that went over my head. I stopped reading after David Mura's part. He said Dean Cain was 1/2 Japanese. Dean Cain is 1/4. I think people should check their facts before writing something that will be published. I can't go on with this book. Eventually I will because he wasn't the only writer in the book. His just bothered me. Even if it's a little thing, giving wrong information isn't a good thing. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars great book
I really learned why real estate in communities of color so often is worth less money than when the exact same housing or real estate is available in white communities. What a terrible price people of color pay for our nation's social cancer of racism. Our collective racism cloaks our underlying issues of pretending there is no classism in the USA.I appreciate Dr. Shapiro's honest assessment of the situation and his clarity in analyzing the actual numbers and statistics underneath the money and educational disparities that can keep some African American families from achieving the wealth levels they would otherwise easily be able to enjoy.Great reading and a fair minded resource for all Americans of any heritage.

5-0 out of 5 stars Book Review
The book was very insightful. It offered me a chance to understand better how inherited wealth provides opportunity that many others do not have. Shapiro offered a few solutions to how we can begin to address the discrepancy in wealth. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a better grasp of the inequality associated with wealth.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Worthy Successor to Black Wealth/White Wealth
Make no mistake about it.The snide comment by Washington Post reviewer Michael Hout above indicates a fundamental inability to comprehend what Shapiro is saying. Why would Hout choose to write this in his review?:

1-0 out of 5 stars nothing new, but still a part of current feelings for many millions
I first saw this book a few years ago at a "peace rally" in California that was led by Kevin Danaher, whose speaking style was the closest I have seen to Hitler's from the news reels I have seen in years past.
1-0 out of 5 stars A Factual Review
The book," The International Jew," a collection of articles, portents to present a scientific analysis of a problem, both the problem is stated and defined by the Author. The book is clearly aimed at an audience that neither requires, seeks, nor needs any substantiation of statements or claims made regardless of how devastating their effects may be on the affected.

I decided to read this book; seaching for something different then my usual type of books. It was okay. At times, I was not sure when the authors were serious or joking. Had I been able to read the comment that one of the endorsers said about people reading the book, I would not have brought the book though. The book was all right for me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great to do Business with.
Very reliable, fast services,no delays and you can trust their services.

2-0 out of 5 stars DON'T BOTHER--unless your totally clueless!
The entire book is rather predictable and leaves much to be desired, though in its defense the color complex is a ponderous subject. Don't get me wrong, there were parts of the book more interesting than others, but nothing whatsoever that encouraged a paradigm shift..I didn't sense that the authors truly had the capacity to take on a subject of such magnitude. What was particularly disturbing, yet predictable was gross generalizations that are often used when referring to "the African culture".Or that one of the authors offers that some black women simply look better with processed. Also the Color Complex didn't speak to the futility of Black Americans trading their birth names fora African-based name within an ethnicity- or color-based context.Too many clichs and colloquialism out of context. Also thought it was strange that authors continuously referred to Jet, Essence and Ebony despite their [superficial] criticism of their perpetuating the light-skinned beauty ideal through advertisements. It seemed strange that many large universities and sociologist that have collected statistically significant, qualitative data on the effects of color weren't really considered.I thought the book could have benefited from a stronger black male, white female, white male experience, as well as an intelligent and dignified examination of how perceptions among African and Caribbean and other immigrants also plays a part in the color complex. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Grace Matters
This is an important book about human relationships and how conditioning must be transcended to allow a new order of humanity to emerge. Chris's honesty is remarkable and refreshing. The forces against human beings coming together are big - the black/white racial issue just further highlights what most of us try to pretend isn't there. Their willingness to trust in God and something bigger than themselves because they know how important it is for the sake of humanity, is very moving and should not be missed. This is an unusual book because although the foundational faith is Christianity, the issues are human and can be appreciated by anyone interested in solving the complex issues of what it means to be a human being.

5-0 out of 5 stars The path to lasting change
Chris Rice is brutally vulnerable and honest about his attempts to achieve the goal of racial reconciliation in partnership with Spencer Perkins. And, while the goal is important, the means of achieving it takes center stage in this poignant and absorbing chronicle of life in an intentional biracial community.Chris and Spencer discover that, when it comes right down to it, the only way they can overcome their own personal hangups and self-centeredness, and achieve true reconciliation between them, is by fully accepting God's grace. As they accept God's grace, they become transformed people who are whole, healed, and capable of truly seeking the best for others. The book clearly documents the work of God in the deep, private recesses of peoples' lives. It should be read by anyone who wants to achieve lasting change in their own life and the world around them. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A valuable if not complete treatment of its subject
There is an Anti- Semitic review in this page in which the following mistakes and errors are made. The writer of the review says that Sartre is Jewish. He is not and so far as I know none of his ancestors were Jewish. The Anti- Semitic reviewer says that the 'Torah teaches hatred of Gentiles' This is outrageous, and stupid. The Torah teaches that every human being is created in the image of God, and that we should love our neighbor as ourselves. The Torah teaches that every human being is of infinite value.
5-0 out of 5 stars Characterizes antisemitic behavior
To the question, "Why be an antisemite," Sartre answers:"Because it's fun!"
4-0 out of 5 stars Sartre's "Anti-Semite & Jew" is a Play that is Not a Play

5-0 out of 5 stars Ms. Roberts Speaks About What People Do Not Want to Hear
I read Ms. Roberts book and believe that she is on target to the destruction of the Black family. The number of African American children in foster care is not a new theory. In fact, Black children have been in the foster care system since slavery.Slavery in itself was a form of foster care. The continued systematic destruction of the black family is caused by poverty, poor education and MISeducation, as well as, a host of factors created by the racism and classification of "minority" for black people. It is very easy to place fault on poor parents but the system pays more money to pull families apart than to help form the bonds of the bloodline.2-0 out of 5 stars Politically Biased
While this book purports to be an unbiased account of the foster care system and its impact on African-American children, it fails miserably. The author is biased against the system from the very beginning, and presents only stories that back her view of the system. There are definitely issues with the foster care system including: overworked case managers, lack of funds, inability to assist children in an appropriate fashion 100% of the time.Certainly there is a racial issue since the majority of children in foster care and up for adoption are minorities, but is this because of the foster care system itself or are we missing a major piece in the puzzle? It is this missing piece that is missing from Ms. Roberts' book. ...
